A top-pick for brunch with my friends in Metuchen! A small, cute and cozy spot and you more than likely have to wait but the food and drinks are so worth it. Good portions for the price and tasty, well-marinated chicken or chorizo plates. Tried the new Dubai chocolate waffle and it was good, but the pistachio flavored cream inside was kind of faint. Maria's Brunch has amazing customer service and delicious food. In the Metuchen area this is currently the best brunch restaurant that I've tried. The employees were all super sweet and friendly, providing everything we needed with the biggest smiles. I noticed that they had a lot of Mexican food on the menu so I was very excited to try those items. We tried 2 Mexican brunch items and they were both delicious and well-flavoured! I was afraid that the Mexican items would be less flavourful than they should be bc there are a couple of other brunch places in the area with Mexican or Mexican flare menu items and they were all much too light in flavour / bland as compared to authentic Mexican flavour. I was happy to find out that it was not the case at Maria's Brunch. Size at this restaurant is huuuuge btw. The venue is also super cute and cozy. I love the motto on their menu that read "our house is your house". On the weekends it will be hard to get a table and there will likely be a wait, but on weekdays it is much easier - thank goodness they're also opened on the weekdays. Where do I start, this place was delicious! The food 10/10! It was so good that I ate before my camera and no pictures were taken LOL. I got the stuffed french toast and it was perfect! The cream cheese filling was the best i've ever tasted! My partner got the quesadillas for more of a brunch feel and he said they were amazing! The service was good, my only complaint was on how long the wait was, my party arrived at 11:30AM for what we thought would be quick seating and we didn't get a table until 1:15PM. The food was worth the wait but now I know for next time, call ahead and make a reservation. The location itself is in the middle of Metuchen and is a bit small. Delightful find! A cute little spot with a fabulous menu! I had the Cobb Salad and my son had the Best Chicken Sandwich. WOW! The sandwich was huge! Must have been two chicken breasts on the sandwich and they did not skimp on the fresh ingredients. The fries were also good - hot and crispy. The Cobb salad was plentiful and fresh. Service was good. Unfortunately, when we first sat down there was a large bridal party group and they were very loud, a lot of celebrating going on! Came here for brunch on a Saturday. The parking lot is not very big and was full so we parked on the street. There was a 20 minute wait since it was busy. The inside was nice and cozy and looked like a homey brunch spot. For drinks we got the rose cappuccino and ferrero rochere latte. The rose cappuccino had pieces of dried roses which were very fragrant but I don't think they were edible so it got in the way when trying to drink the cappuccino. The ferrero rochere latte had crushed up pieces of ferrero rochere which added to the flavor but gave it a weird texture when trying to drink the soaked pieces of nuts and shell from the chocolate. I think if they strained out the crush pieces of the chocolate it would've been better. For mains we ordered the stuffed croissant and chick waffle. The stuffed croissant was good but I wish it wasn't covered with the cream cheese frosting because it was a little too much and made the croissant soggy. If they put the frosting just on the inside of the croissant and had some on the side for dipping I think it would've been perfect. The chick waffle was also very good with the bacon, egg, cheese and chicken. My only complaint was the chicken tenders were a little dry and not proportional to the size of the waffles. It also came with hash browns, which looked similar to McDonalds hash browns, which were really nice and crispy. Overall we enjoyed brunch here. The portions are a great size for brunch and you will definitely leave feeling full! So glad I finally stopped by Maria's Brunch in Metuchen - the online hype is very deserved! I stopped in for lunch on a weekday afternoon with a friend and almost all the tables were filled. Luckily, a booth seat was open for us and we didn't have to wait at all! The space itself is fairly small, but very cute and comforting. Plus, there's not a ton of seating, which is nice because even at capacity, the room can't get too loud. The regular menu alone is extensive, but they also have seasonal breakfast, lunch, and drink options as well. I got the Crème Brûlée latte, one of their specialty drinks. The presentation was beautiful and the layer of caramelized sugar on top was the perfect touch. The latte itself was delicious - not overwhelmingly sweet while still maintaining the rich and unique flavor. I also ordered Mama's Torta sandwich from their list of lunch specials, which was so unbelievably good. The torta roll was soft and the breaded chicken cutlet was the perfect happy-medium thickness. The quesillo and the refried beans really tied all the ingredients together too. Will 100% be coming back to this adorable brunch spot - definitely check it out if you're in the area! They were pretty spot-on with their estimate and we were called in around 45 minutes later. The interior was pretty cute and I had been curious to see how the place had been transformed after Hatch 44 moved to its new location. We ordered the apple crumb toast and burrito mex along with waffle fries and chocolate milk. I thoroughly enjoyed the first half of the apple crumb toast but found it to become too sweet mid-way through. We wish that the burrito mex outside tortilla was crispy, but it otherwise was very large and filled. The service was pretty great, although there was some confusion about whether or not a side of potatoes was included with the burrito and the later arrival of the waffle fries. Maria's is a small corner restaraunt with tons of windows and with ample parking in the back. We ordered an iced dulce brûlée, the big breakfast with pancakes and Nutella and banana French toast. Everything was delicious! The sausage and ham was very tasty, eggs and home fries were good and the pancakes were so tasty and fluffy. French toast was soft and moist and the creamy Nutella and banana were perfect. The dulce brûlée was soooo good! I almost wanted to order another to go lol. From the moment I saw the outside of this beautiful building I had a feeling that this would be a great brunch spot. I was greeted with a warm smile by the owner and seated shortly after. I had the chorizo bowl after the great review here on Yelp It was fantastic with generous portions and high quality ingredients. I later spoke with the owner and she informed me that they make all from scratch using her mother's recipes. Great traditional American fare as well. They have a lot of special items so I got the Elote Avo Toast which featured corn, arugula, feta, chili crisp, etc. I thought it was a unique touch on an avocado toast and enjoyed it. The food arrived relatively quickly and the portions were huge! -The Strawberry CheeseCake Pancake is absolutely delicious! The pancakes are stuffed with delicious cream cheese and topped with whipped cream and strawberry syrup. Highly recommend. - The Cinnamon French Toast was my least favorite but my mom and partner really enjoyed it. For me, it was too tangy and I didn't enjoy the texture. -The Tex-Mex Style Bowl (with waffle fries, eggs with chorizo, guacamole and salsa) was very tasty. We shared these three dishes and still had enough to take home. Our server was very nice and the price point stellar with everything coming up under $40. When we left (around 1pm), there were people waiting to be seated. Not sure timing-wise what is best as I am sure weekends are pretty busy overall but thought I would mention it. I stopped eating meat a month ago and found plenty of options. I went with the veggie quesadilla and was craving fries so ordered a side. Quesadilla came with salsa and quac. It was loaded with grilled veggies - zucchini, onions, peppers, and eggplant. I think it said 3 Mexican cheeses. It was heft and I could only eat half.
