Sapna was so kind! she took my very very last minute request for an anniversary cake for my parents…read moreand made it so classy and beautiful! she was super easy to work with, quick to respond, and made us a gorgeous delicious cake! thanks so much!

Pros: Cake is great…read more Cons: The owner is extremely rude. There are many people who bake good cakes. Choose one who will also be nice to you :) Also IMO, the cake is expensive (but take this with a pinch of salt as I have not ordered such cakes before). Edited - adding more details: To give you an idea of what it is like communicating with this business, here is the exact timeline of our order: We had a phone call with the owner where we asked her the estimate for a 2 tier cake. We described a cake she had made previously. She said she dint remember the exact cake. We told her we will share a screenshot of the IG image. She said 2 tier cakes start at $350. We told her the date we wanted the cake for and confirmed that we will be making the booking and that we can discuss the details on chat: [My Husband]: Hi [Owner]. We just spoke on the call. Can you give us an estimate for this [Theme] cake? [Owner]: Okay this cake is $375 for the two tier with some Discount. Do you also want the cupcakes? [My Husband]: Yes. I would like to order. What flavor is the cake? Can you make it $350? No we don't need cupcakes. [Owner]: No, I mentioned to you. It starts at $350 and I already gave you a discount. So now the cake can be $400. [My Husband]: Alright. What flavor is the cake? Note: The owner then sent deposit instructions and ignored the question about the flavor. (The next day) [Me]: What flavor is the cake? [Owner]: You can choose two flavors - vanilla, chocolate, red velvet, cookies and cream, marble, funfetti, strawberry. [Me]: Is it per tier? Then let's do chocolate for the big one and vanilla for the small one. [Owner]: Sure. (A few days before the event) [Me]: Hi [Owner]. [Our friend] will pick up the cake on Saturday. Can he come around 4:30pm? He will give you the exact ETA when he is about to leave. Are there any pick up instructions? [Owner]: Hello I am only Home till 1230 pm [Me]: Okay. We (or our friend) will come around 12pm. [Owner]: Thank you! And the cake will be tightly packed and fit into your trunk. Can you message before you head over and remaining is due anytime before pickup thank you! $200. Thanks! [Me]: Yes, we'll venmo you when we come there. [Owner]: Before pickup please then I can pack it up (On the morning of the event) [Me]: Hi. I just sent the rest of the payment. [Owner]: Received thanks! What's your eta? [Me]: 12pm. I can get there by 11 too if you want. [Owner]: 11 would be better if that works [Me]: Sounds good, see you at 11!

Review #196 - 2020…read more I've been trying my best to buy from small local businesses as much as I possibly can since this whole pandemic started. It's sad to see so many small businesses close down due to our politicians's lack of ability to put people before politics. I reached out to Khushboo after seeing her post on Facebook on Tuesday, November 17th, via messenger and she responded very quickly. The item that caught my attention were her cute hot chocolate bombs so I asked to pick some up from her on Thursday, November 19th, in time for my nieces to spend the weekend with us. My 4-year old daughter loves all things chocolate and I don't mind enjoying a cup of hot chocolate every now and then so I decided to order a 4-pack for us to try. I got the "unicorn" for my daughter since she really likes unicorn. Sadly, my daughter prefers milk chocolate over white chocolate so I ended up having to help her finish it. It was a little too much milk for my liking, but I liked the fact that it wasn't overly sweet. I got the "Tea Me Up" for myself since I do enjoy a nice cup of chai latte & it was perfect for the cold weather. Although, I must warn you that it is a little bit spicy. I got the "Chocolala" for my 11-year old niece because she likes all her food/drink to be as plain and simple as possible and this fit her taste perfectly. I got the "Guess Who's Salty" for my 15-year old niece because she loves salted caramel flavor desserts. Sadly, I received a text from her dad that she ended up in the ER for juvenile diabetes type 1--so, she never got to try it & I decided to give it to my 11-year old niece instead. The chocolate bombs are super cute and such a fun idea. They would definitely make a great stocking stuffer. Although, they're a little pricey for everyday consumption so I wouldn't recommend drinking one daily. I asked to have tiny vegan marshmallows added for $0.50/each. Very nice touch! If you ever need some hot chocolate bombs or extremely cute cakes, check out her Facebook page: https://m.facebook.com/creamyrainbows.bakery/ Please help support small businesses during this time of hardship!

Of course husband last minute says day of birthday celebration that we need a cake. Found Izumi…read moreCakes on Yelp and was bummed at first because the soonest online reservation for a cake would be two days later. Husband called them around 11am and they said they were in the middle of making their strawberry cakes so they could add our order in for a same day pickup at 4pm. Pickup went well and the cake was so cute and it tasted great! Like the Chinese bakery strawberry cream cake with a moist sponge cake; not too sweet, just right. Might sound basic but it was done very well. Would 100% recommend. I don't know prices for cakes nowadays but I didn't feel bad paying about $60 for a cute and tasty cake (6", strawberry cream cake). I wouldn't bank on same day pickups, I might've just been very lucky they were in the middle of making their cakes but it wouldn't hurt to try calling early in the day if you're in a pinch for a solid cake. I'm very thankful for their service!

This spot is takeout-only, so don't plan on stopping by for long. Finding parking isn't difficult…read morebut might take a minute on busy days, as it shares a parking lot with the rest of a popular plaza. The store itself is easy to find as well, with a clear label outside. Walking in, it looks half-closed--their cakes are all stored in a large refrigerator, with nothing in the case on the counter. There is a sign proclaiming "takeout only" in slight disarray, and the seating is pushed to the side. That said, the service is friendly and the employees are quick to help you and show you what they have in stock for takeout. I ordered the 4" Berry Berry Light Cake for a birthday, and they were able to write a birthday message on the cake board, which I really appreciated. The cake also tasted very light and the sweetness was subtle, which I really enjoyed. The berry flavor in the sponge was a little too subtle, though. My main concern is that the cake does not fully resemble the picture they advertised online. It is missing the freeze-dried berries on top, and the berry glaze did not reach as far down the cake as was shown in the photo. Because the berry glaze is the main source of the berry flavor, this was a little disappointing. Also, the cake was not finished when I came to pick up the cake (and I was ~5 minutes late). I'm uncertain if this is for freshness or if there is another reason. Overall, I like the spot for the fresh and light cake. It's pleasantly unique compared to your standard sheet cake, and everything is rather cute. However, it may be a better idea to buy the cakes in-person to be 100% sure of what it will look like, though daily stock is definitely more limited than if you place an order online. I hope they reopen their indoor seating soon.

I couldn't have asked for a better experience when working with Laurel for my wedding cake. :)…read more Listen, I'm a foodie and I know a few things when it comes to cake. Laurel is the real deal! I tried a couple of her famous flavors before deciding- Neapolitan and an intense chocolate cake (I forget the exact name). Holy cannoli. First we'll talk about the Neapolitan- amazingly clever layers of chocolate and vanilla cake with not-too-sweet strawberry cream. Laurel's cake texture is perfection every time, moist and soft. The flavors were scrumptious. LOVE ON A PLATE. The chocolate which I got for my then fiance's birthday. Delicious, moist chocolate cake with layers of filling- chocolate buttercream (which I would bathe in if given the chance and guarantee that no one would judge me) as well as a light chocolate mousse. It was delicious but not too rich so that I could enjoy my whole piece of cake. I went with the Neapolitan for our wedding cake. It was gorgeous and amazing, beautifully decorated. People said they really liked it, including my sister and she is extremely picky. :P I will be going to Laurel for future cakes! I'll attach pictures when I get a chance. :)
