Since, the change in ownership, the store has a different vibe. Sometimes you want to go where everybody knows your name and you are always glad you came. That is what Maria's was before the change in ownership. They would always ask about your family. Unfortunately, not true anymore. The store has the same inventory. Nothing has changed there. Their kitchen in the back is under new management. I really miss the previous owners and their delicious chicken. The current owners has a new brand of chicken. Nothing shy of Amazing, this interesting mixed concept liquor store quasi Italian deli. You'll just know when you walk in, your nose knows. You'll get hit with some of the most warm wondrous delicious smells pulling the Pavlovian out of you! I went hog wild. I wasn't even hungry and grabbed a slice, medium sausage and peppers, and tiramisu. All absolutely wonderful. Each in its own delicious way. Haven't been here for the shop, came for takeout. It would be 3 stars if not for the quality of the seafood. Shrimp and tilapia were great, good selection of fish types. The shrimp was amazing. Chicken was alright, a little dry. The fries were soggy and disappointing, same with the bread. Not sure why they packaged it that way, but the bread was on the bottom instead of separate. Will come back and order differently next time, just seafood and no sides. read more

Even though its a liquor store but the kitchen is a separate identity, its run by an Arabic guy, who gets his meat from saad Detroit. He's very nice and serves grt food. The chicken pepperoni and ground beef is halal, he preps them separately from non halal, he had Halal lasagna pizza chicken burger and fried chicken. I would suggest to call him in advance and place an order if u want everything Halal, he'll make it fresh! Will post pic of food later read more

Did you know it's a FULLY STOCK LIQUOR supplier in there?! (OMG! I think I'm in love) This isn't just your regular store -- their shelves are literally as high as the ceiling. (Lol!); it reminds me a library. Cause my eyes aren't the greatest -- the staff will allow you to walk around (of course you must ask first) the counter to get a better look. This place is amazing!!! The new owners completely revamped the entire building and turned this place around for the better!!! The alcohol selection is amazing!!! They sell all types of hard liquor, beer, wine and ciders. They also have a fabulous selection of cordials and cocktail garnishes. I love that they carry all 13 flavors of Fee brothers bitters and hard to find Filthy Foods hand stuffed olives and cherries!!!! Tony is a great guy...always smiling with a positive attitude. Always a good staple. They are a great place for last minute beer, wine or liquor. When I was a kid, I used to get a lot of their food (especially their pizza dough and cannolis!!!) but I havent had them in such a long time. Everything else is good. New place looks good. I have been shopping there for 40 years. Just ate the worst pizza in 40 years. No sauce (ordered extra sauce) - thin dried out crust. Ingredient's are subpar compared to what they used to be. It will be awhile before I go back - The new owners have ruined a good pizza. I wonder what else they may have messed with in the bakery. Not taking any chances. You lost a customer Maria's, because if you go cheap on the pizza I am just concerned that you have cut corners else where too. Good choice of alcohol though. Just disappointed that they charge so much for limited release craft beer. Asking $12 for a 12oz bottle that another store down the street charges $6.99. Also charged $6 for a Bells Planet Series Beer that was $3 at other stores. They have a good selection so that's always a plus, but some prices can be disappointing read more

My husband and I have been getting U-bake pizzas here about twice monthly for the past year and have loved it. However, last night we baked our cheese pizza and my husband bit into something hard -- a THUMB TACK. Luckily, he did not break skin or swallow it. We immediately bagged up the entire pizza and brought it back to the store. Staff apologized and refunded our money but was surprisingly less than appalled by our discovery and much less visibly concerned than I would have been. read more

We had a family gathering at our home and had to feed 30 people. I went to Maria's a few days before and Lenny set me up. I ordered a large tray of "you bake" meat lasagna, a small tray of vegetarian lasagna and 2 pizzas, I also added a lg antipasto salad, rolls, & canolis to my order. On party day, They loaded everything in my car for me, (nice touch). I took it all home put the lasagna & pizzas in the oven. Everything was great!! Got a lot of compliments on the food, especially the lasagna. Everyone loved the lasagna, both the meat and veggie!! My only complaints were, I would of put more of a variety of veggies in veggie lasagna. They only had mushroom & green pepper. The salad was also very good. I forgot to get the dressing while I was picking up everything else, but no biggie, I had oil and vinegar at home. I do wish the meat and cheese in the salad we chopped into smaller pieces because there were some pretty big chunks of salami in there. Still, the salad was fresh very tasty. I was also very pleased with the price. I could not of fed 30 people in any restaurant that much food for that good of a price. I will definitely use them again and recommend Maria's to my friends.
