We have been eating here since they opened. We love the food. The service has always been great. They stop often to check if we need anything. It always seems clean. Tables wiped down which means a lot to us. We like that they have help of Mexican nationality and also local folks. Only small thing is in late afternoon the sun hits in the booths at the window. We like sitting there to watch what's going on outside. If there is a problem with the sun they gladly move us to a more comfortable seating area. The prices went up a small amount, but the price is fine for good food verses some drive through who have made smaller items and raised the price. read more

This place gets worse each time. I am officially done! The chimichangas were smaller than a frozen cheap bean burrito and the taste lacked ANY flavor. It was literally boiled chicken with absolutely NO seasoning wrapped in a tortilla and covered with hot milk that was supposed to be cheese. Muy bien. In other words Damm! Yep it was perfect. I mola sauce hit the parlay. Chicken Mola #56 was so tasty I didn't come up for air. It seemed to get better with each bite. It was so good I didn't want to swallow it. The rice was moist with flavor. The only problem is they don't give you enough rice and beans. I could shovel that in my mouth all day. The shrimp Santa Anna was good as well. If you like butter shrimp you will like it. . the decor was on point also. Service was fast and they didn't bug you while eating. The seats are a little low and I can tell people from the area code for the cocktails. Each table was loaded with them. If I'm back in this town I will definitely stop in. read more

Maria's is a nice restaurant on Mainstreet in Lancaster. It can be difficult entering if you are coming off the street as they have steep stairs and a small doorway opening. inside it has been converted from a house of offices at one time to the current seating arrangements. Due to this it felt a bit cramped inside. Our server was on the spot as my drink was never empty and the chips and salsa were always in supply. I ordered El Tapatio and I regret to say that it was not the best. the chicken was dry, and the dish overall was bland. I tried the dishes of others that were in our group and was not impressed with those either. Great service, subpar food. read more

Been hearing good things about Maria's so while we were down in Lancaster decided to check it out - Maria's is in a great location right on Main Street in downtown Lancaster occupying a beautiful old historic bank building. We sat outside on a spacious patio with a live band playing. Promptly received our chips & salsa, ordered a pitcher of the house marg and a side of queso - band was strumming some good tunes and we were off the a great start! Fajitas came out sizzling, we ordered the Fajitas Tropicana and the Molcajete, good presentation on the sizzling fajitas but the food itself was just so bland - which is a shame because I was enjoying everything about Maria's. In addition to the food lacking flavor/seasoning/spice the little shrimpys were not deveined, and it wasn't just like a little vein leftover... no, it was a massive and very noticeable full poopchute on every skrimp. Hoping we just hit Maria's on an off night, so I'll probably come back for another visit. read more

The reviews on Yelp are not as great as google reviews for some reason. This was my second time here but I don't really remember the first. Busy place on a Friday night, so we put our name in for a little bit of a wait. While we were waiting tho we were able to sit near the bar in the hallway and order drinks which was very nice. I got a regular margarita on the rocks. Decently strong and a good size! The menu is lengthy and it was hard to decide. I went with the shrimp fajitas. They did forget to bring out the tortillas which was a bit surprising, so I had to ask for them. The shrimp were a good flavor, but about half of them were not deveined. I don't think it's a problem to eat that, it's just kinda of gross to think about so I used the fork to devein most of them. Otherwise everything was pretty tasty! We were here for a birthday and they also brought out a huge sombrero for them to wear and sang happy birthday in Spanish with some fun noisemakers! read more

Our server was friendly & attentive, but we had to ask for items that usually should have been brought regularly. The food was just okay... the portions were very big, but taste was for the most part so-so. I had the steak fajita, & she had a 3 piece combo. Ambiance was just so-so, too. The white folding chairs kinda seemed to cheapen the look. I understand it was supposed to be better a while ago, but i honestly don't think I'll be back. When our plans were squashed for the day we stopped in here to day drink. Absolutely beautiful building in need of a lot of love. Still you can see how gorgeous it once was. I would recommend a stop just to see the architecture. I got a Jumbo Margarita because, well...why not. Service was fast and attentive. Cozy atmosphere Chips and salsa were the standard fare. We went with Maria's to supply the food for a recent graduation. Our graduation party was planned for 150-200 people. We were delighted with the food we got from Maria's. It was hot, fresh and delicious. We had steak and chicken fajitas, rice, refried beans, and Mexican salad. There was also chips, salsa and guacamole. I've been wanting to try this place for a while so when I was in town, I thought I would finally give it a go. The outside always looked really cool with it being inside an old stone building. So I walk in and am seated almost immediately at a nice table on the second level patio. Server came quick, and was pleasant. But....after that it went downhill. To begin, the water I had, had something yellow floating in the bottom. Which is always unpleasant and is a start to ruining an appetite. Then the salsa I had was frozen. After pouring half of it into my bowl, the bottom was an ice chunk. Which is another gross out factor. If you're going to serve frozen salsa, at least make sure that it's thawed out. After that, once I got my food, I realized that I never received silverware. This is totally fine, and happens but when I got my fork, one prong was so bent, it wasn't even possible to eat with it without cutting open my lip and angling my face in super weird positions just to get a bite. Add to that, the person sitting near me who appeared to be awkwardly hitting on the college-aged greeter and was burping throughout my meal, and you have yourself a pretty disappointing dinner. Drive the extra fifteen and grab some better food in Lithopolis. read more

This was an amazing find! The margarita was great, cold, nicely rimmed in salt. The chips were fresh and the salsa served seemed fresh, very good. The meal was served hot. Mexican rice was good without being overdone. We each had different beans. The charro beans we spicy and very good The refried beans were really great, full of flavor The one thing that really made the meal was the beef tacos! Well seasoned ground beef, the shells were homemade or at least tasted like it. I highly recommend this place! Groups of six or less seated together, otherwise split into tables. Lemme start by saying this is our favorite Mexican restaurant outta any we've been to. When the Covid stuff hit, they really redid a lot of stuff. Family owned, and they do a good job. We stumbled upon the live bands in I'm guessing 2019 in the town square. And it was cool. Sit at Maria's, drink on the patio, eat, listen to live music, but far enough away you could still hear yourself talk. So when we seen they were back this year starting with this past Friday, we thought cool, 70's-80's rock, right up our alley. Only to arrive at Maria's and they had two guys playing music too. Which really sucked. They weren't awful, but when you've got a full band in the square that's literally one building away, you are drowned out. And I'm sure a decent amount of us had the same plan as we did. Just was not good planning, thinking, by Maria's. I'm sure it was an honest mistake, but man, it really threw a wrench in our evening. read more

Great location in the downtown area of Lancaster. They have a nice outdoor patio I recommend if you go! Basic Mexican menu and cuisine. The quesadillas were extra cheesy. Laid back atmosphere with some neat decorations. The staff was eager and very polite. Two waiters actually came up to us and were both trying to seat us when we walked in. We went on a Friday night and it was pretty packed, but we got right in and were out within an hour. They ran out of corona at 7PM which was disappointing, but then we switched to margaritas which were pretty strong compared to most restaurant margaritas! All in all Maria's is a good choice if you're looking for Mexican cuisine in the downtown area- be sure to sit outside and get the house margaritas! read more
