Carne asada burrito was gigantic! Good salsa as well - not too hot. Solid 10!

Great food! I ordered two burritos, and both were delicious. Their burritos were giant and my husband and i could have easily shared. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant could have been a bit cleaner, but it didn't take away from the experience.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's tucked away in a small strip mall on the edge of Pomona--a pretty solid spot overall.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They also had a great selection of pastries and other treats for sale. A little on the pricey side, but definitely worth it for the taste!

Found this hole in the wall on our way to the la fair best breakfast burrito I've ever had the beans were incredible my wife had chiliquitas which are perfectly made we will be hitting the spot anytime we're even close to this area Plus they have their own bakery inside fresh as can be

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Love this place! It's a small mom & pop hole in the wall with a bakery.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The portions are more than generous and the food is delicious. It's family run so it may be slow as there's usually one cook that I have seen and someone at the counter. Was craving their wet chicken burrito supreme, as you can see it's huge! That fed 4 people in my household, unless you are super hungry and can finish the whole thing!

Maria's Tacos was definitely a last min decision, I've been craving a good breakfast burrito! Walking in, I was a bit taken back at how slow it was but it was a Monday around 10am. I missed the breakfast rush and I made it before lunch, that's the best time.... Weird off times so the Chef is more attentive towards your needs! The place is uniquely interesting it's a half restaurant and a half panaderia. Usually, they are separate entities. Other places where they are combined are mostly at huge hispanic, Latin American grocery stores such as; Vallarta or Cardenas. Ordered the pork tamale and a machaca burrito. The pork tamale was plain but the salsa is what saved it, the salsa brought the ummpph, the pow pow, the delicioso to the dish! The machaca burrito is a must get, the portion was huge definitely enough for 2! The prices were absolutely reasonable, now that I think about it...... this place is a hidden gem!! =)

Parking is limited, so we were happy to snag one of the last spots. This is an order-at-the-counter spot with a salsa bar, hot beans, indoor and outdoor seating, and even Mexican Coke. Indoor seating is also pretty limited, so my friend and I were glad to grab one of the small tables. I ordered the lengua and asada tacos and both were flavorful, tender, and loaded with meat. I was honestly too hungry and eager to take a picture beforehand, but I can assure you the portions are plentiful. The tacos were a little greasy, but still really satisfying. Solid taco spot if you're in Pomona.

Parking is a little tight. There's only a few spots in the plaza, but there is a lot of street parking. It only took about 5 to 10 minutes to get our food, so not a long way at all. There was a fill your own salsa bar and they had free beans. Overall, food was good and price was decent, considering inflation. The salsa weren't extremely spicy and the service was quick. Overall, we will definitely be back again!

Joanna from the second we walked in, made us feel like family. The server was attentive without being overbearing and had great recommendations for the menu. Now, let's talk about the drinks, the margaritas are phenomenal. You can tell they use fresh lime juice rather than a cheap, sugary mix, and the tequila selection is impressive. Pair that with their freshly made salsa and perfectly charred grilled meats, and you have a winner. We will definitely be regular customers here!

Unfortunately, we did have to wait around 30-40 minutes for the buffet to be ready.. we were served mimosas right away, which was nice. Now.. when it came down to the food, one person in my party did find a vey long hair in her chile relllenos. We made it know to our waitress.. which was a sweet person throughout everything!! Then we were told that the chilaquiles and taco station was now open.. so we headed down to it. There was no one to great us at the station. We stood around for around 10 minutes and no one showed up. So at that moment I grabbed a bowel of menudo. Lucky me!! I also grabbed a long hair in my menudo.. my sister in law thought it was a piece of onion but it was not! It was a very long strand of hair. At that point we all tried our best to make the best of it and enjoy the mariachi and mimosas. Then when I returned to the taco/chilaquile station the lady was very rude!! She bluntly asked what we wanted instead of telling us our options.. and I said I'll have 2 chorizo tacos please.. she said where's your plate?? I wasn't aware that I had to give her a plate to serve me. It was an overall horrible experience. Especially because we were literally the only party in the entire place besides the mariachi. The mariachi and our server were the only pleasant people that morning. I will never be returning.

The outside of the establishment may not be entirely appealing, but what awaits within is sure to warm your heart. Eating their food feels like an ode from the heart. It is reminiscent of pulling off to the side of the road to a Mariscos food truck in Tijuana. The food is comforting and reminds you of how Hispanic culture brings people together through food and music. All the staff here is very kind and have a lively spirit. As you are enjoying your food it is warming to hear them laughing, enjoying each other's company, and Bad Bunny music of course. I had the Tostada Mixta pictured below and believe it or not I had already dug in and eaten a whole tostada by the time I remembered to snap a pic. The portions are very generous and for the price, can't be beat! The Tacos de Camaron are flavor packed with every bite. These are freshly cooked to order and you can tell by the temperature, be careful. I can't describe them to anything else I have had in the past as they are so unique in the best way. Not pictured is the aguachiles. As spicy as they are, I couldn't find myself putting them down. The flavor keeps you hooked wanting more and more. I am excited to try out a Coctel next and am positive I will have nothing but praise. Definitely worth a try if you are ever out in the area or just passing by. But some shady charges or maybe we'll call it miscommunication just rubbed me the wrong way. I always order the mole chicken enchiladas and my wife (being vegetarian) asks for the same dish but if the enchiladas can be vegetable or cheese. Apparently this means a 8$ up charge? We've done this many times in the past and always been charged the same price for both. I asked the server at the end "the veggie version is 8$ more expensive than chicken?" And he just shrugged and said yes. Just found it interesting that a meat dish would be 8$ less than a purely cheese/veggie dish. Especially since done this in the past with no issue. I also asked for "hot sauce" for my dish. They brought out a spicier house salsa as the hot sauce...totally understandable and the salsa here is usually free. Apparently it's a 4$ "chipotle sauce" that the waiter did not inform me would be charged. I would've easily just said I want tapatio or no "hot sauce". I used maybe a teaspoon for 4$. I told the waiter this when we questioned the bill and he just shrugged. These may seem like small inconveniences but when they seem like they intentionally don't tell you the details and then when called out about it just kinda shrug it off, it was a disappointing end to an otherwise tasty dinner. We love it here and will certainly be back but it just sucks that I have to be extra cautious & skeptical when ordering from now on.
