Pretty good classic Mexican fare. I always get their supreme burrito with lengua, so my experience with the entire menu is limited that way. Never been disappointed though! I have to say that they did one thing that pissed me off (and a lot of little places do this), where they do not tell you that there is a transaction fee for ATM charges, then run it through. It was only 50 cents, but the principle is still important. Post a little sign somewhere. It's fucking rude to do that. I still would have bought my burrito anyway. Maria's is a decent place to grab some lunch. They offer more authentic mexican fare then the average L.A. mexican food place. Prices are very reasonable, and the food is very flavorful. My knock on the food is that it was not cooked very well. We had some chips that were overcooked in some places and still soft in others. The al pastor in my burrito was a little overcooked and my wife's tamale was dry. Even still, I enjoyed the food, as I said it was very flavorful. The place was pretty dirty too, which is probably why there's a big B on the window. Dirty tables = not appetizing. My wife liked it better than I did, so I may give it a second try. read more

Maria's is absolutely delicious! And SO worth the money! Everything is so cheap and oh, so so good! My office is just a few blocks down the street and we go to Maria's about 3 times a week. It is so good. And they have al pastor! Which is so hard to find! This place puts Alberto's to shame. You have to try their supremo burrito with al pastor. YUMMY! Their quesadillas are really good too! They also have lengua! I definitely recommend this place! The service there is pretty good too. Everyone is pretty friendly. read more

Maria's tacos is a gem here in Pomona. They have all the Mexican dishes you could ever want. To top if off they serve menudo and posole 7 days a week; something that most Mexican restaurants only do on the weekends. Even though the place looks pretty beat up and same tables from 14 years ago , the food is still good . I've been coming here since 2006 cause I use to work at the Red Cross down the street . I'm not giving a 5 start review just because the old man at the register has a horrible customer service. I mean this guy is always grumpy and if u ask him for salsa he gets bothered and make a face . Are u for reals ? He is the owner!!!! Came in for breakfast. Probably best place near Cal poly Pomona. This is a 2 table restaurant that's also a traditional panaderia. I ordered the huevos rancheros but could have also tried the tamales ($ 1.60 each) Maybe next time... Too bad it's not Tuesday or Thursday- tacos are $1.25 on those days. I love this spot! The service is top notch and consistent. I do notice how out of towner's usually place negative reviews in the appearance but this place is always clean! It is a mum and pop aka hole in the wall! And I love the charm! The pozole and burritos are what I always get! The bread is always fresh and tasty! I've been coming here since I was a kid and the food is always absolutely amazing! I've pretty much had everything on the menu but my favorites hands down is the green chili verde, menudo, chorizo and eggs and probably the wet burritos. The food never disappoints! Not going to lie it can get pretty hot in there and if it's not busy the chips can sometimes not be the greatest (from the chip bar) but the cook is extremely nice just tell him and he'll make you a fresh batch! The man making the food warmed up my burrito in a Styrofoam container, in the microwave, for two minutes! If I hadn't already paid for the food, I would've just walked out. I shared the burrito (carne asada), and pork tamale with my bff. The carne asada was very dry. The green sauce on top of the burrito, however, was really tasty. I had one bite of the tamale and stopped right away. It tasted like it was sitting in the steamer for who knows how long.This place has the potential to be good. Old reliable spot for Cal Poly employees. Unbelievable chile verde...loaded with, of all things, dark red chile japones!...Their carnitas tacos and tostadas are excellent. Best of all, go during lent when they serve those special pre-Easter dishes like tortitas de camaron con nopales (shrimp paddies with cactus strips and red chile mole)...their's are the closest to what I ate during my childhood...the shrimp burrito is not bad either. Definitely in this whole taco phase haha. Maria's offers some really good tacos though. I do love the fact they have a salsa bar with free chips that is always cool. The carne asada was real good well grilled and properly flavored .The chicken was good too I really liked it even more than the chicken at the famous KING TACO. Stopped in here to get a quick bite before heading to the L.A. County Fair. It is a bit underwhelming. With a name like "Maria's Tacos", I had to order tacos. I got one of each kind: chicken, pork and beef. The port was a bit dry. The chicken was pretty moist. The beef was just okay. Plus, they had chips, but ran out of both chips and bowls. Then, the salsa was left empty. The tables weren't cleared for additional diners, so you had to search for a place to sit. With so many Mexican restaurants in L.A., it's hard to stand out. The taste is so genuinely Mexican...it's not a fancy place but the glamorizing of their means is amazing...it will be worth the 30 minute drive...I did not include a picture because I finished the burrito....I never finish s burrito I always leave some for later, but this burrito was so good I kept eating it. Ok so this place is alright.....I stopped going there since i found a better place where i can indulge on a few taco's Breakfast Wow the chilaquiles are quite good and the menudo(if menudo is your thing) is pretty amazing That is the one dish i have always enjoyed there.The carne asada tacos were sometimes over cooked and little burnt, the taste of old oil will sometimes linger in your mouth...not very pleasant. But tolerable if there is nothing else around. The restaurant itself is not all that great looking but considering price its not a bad place to go.
