I grew up in the Las Cruces/El Paso area, at the time great New Mexican food available nearly any place with a door. I don't live in the area anymore, but occasionally I come to El Paso for personal business. Now, finding a place that serves the food I remember has been a challenge. Sure, there's a restaurant on every corner in El Paso advertising authentic Mexican food, but I don't find the food that good, until I happened on this little place. We walk in, and the staff are attending to a line of people with empty pots, filling them with menudo or other stews/soups. I have one of the best combination plates of my life, and the food is not "heavy" - stomach not upset later. My wife has green chile chicken enchiladas, which she says are the best she's had in years. Meat from a whole chicken (not just white breast meat), great tasting sauce, no shortcuts. The refried beans tasted good, as did the rice. We went there 3 days in a row. People with empty pots to fill each day. read more

About A year and few months ago My Son and I went to Maribus EPTX on Edgemere, because he bought some CLAW game machines for a small business he was up-taking. He went to service the unit after being out in the oil fields for his main job. They refused to let him service it and He said ok, I will take it with me and Use it at another clients establishment that is wanting to do business with him. They refused to let us take it, said it was theirs. They had No keys to the machine,(we do), We have the receipts of purchase as well. They still refused to let him have it. When he told me this I was livid. (someone is ripping off my son). I couldn't let that slide. I had to go in unannounced like a customer. Was ignored at first ( probably be cause I am big guy and my sheer size scares people). I went in and nicely stated I want it back and said this is not your property and I have filed a police report along with the receipts of purchase, for proof. He then said take it and get it out of here, I don't want it or need it. So, how does an establishment not call if they are going out of business to tell him to pick it up. These new owners and management are rude, mean and not very friendly. I never ate there so I can not claim anything good or bad about the food. The atmosphere and staff are NOT kind and are thieves. Even they didn't have keys to the locks on the machine, yet still demanded it was theirs. I was able to walk out with it. The food was great and I like the place! They forgot about my companion's plate but other than that all was better than expectations.

Gorditas were amazing. Norma and the staff made us feel very special. Give it a try and you won't be disappointed.

Great service great food chill place nothing special but the food and service make up for it

YESSS great Mexican food, service, and drinks! Grabbed lunch today and it was starting to get busy as we arrived. We picked a table, sat down, and the gentleman quickly came over to give us our menus. I ordered the three gorditas plate with rice and beans and a small horchata. The gorditas had ground beef in a red salsa and potatoes which surprisingly was really good! The complimentary salsa has a great kick to it after eating it several times, and the chips tasted freshly made! Omg the horchata was to die for! I did not want to finish it, and unfortunately i did :( boo.. BUT yay because as I got to the bottom of my horchata drink I came across the chewy pieces of rice and cinnamon! Um YUMM. Yes I'd recommend this business. Their food is delicious, and their service is great for the most part. Except for when I order by phone and get there to pick up, and pay. Once I pay if someone gets there after I pay already. Then they take care of someone else's order, cause they may be a regular gets their order first it does irritate me a little. This is a no frills restaurant! but it doesn't matter because their food is good and inexpensive! I really liked their salsa, had a good kick to it and I devoured their Huevos con Chorizo like it was my last meal! Service & food were amazing! I'm always on the hunt for "the best huevos rancheros" and Maribu's did not disappoint! The plate is a generous serving with fresh home made ranchero sauce, hash browns, beans and your choice of breakfast meat. They also make the tortillas fresh. They do serve chips and salsa while you wait for you meal which was also bomb! The owner was extremely welcoming and friendly and took his time to greet and answer any questions about the menu. The food came out quickly and the service was awesome! Definitely worth trying if you want a good breakfast, the huevos rancheros are served all day. Everything here is so delicious! Remember going to Mom's, Abuela's or your Tia's house and you got fed? It's just like that! I've tried more than a handful of their dishes, but we now have our faves and they never disappoint! The customer service is like being greeted by family! They remembered us after only 1 visit and have been warmly welcomed every time since! Food and prices are decent, however, I was very disappointed in our order. Ordered two tortas with the "a la mexicana" add on and a side order of fries to go. The tortas came without the add on and the fires were super limp - like they were microwaved. We also mentioned we were staying at the nearby hotel and needed utensils and condiments twice. This is a great go to place when I'm not sure when to eat. Their enchiladas are yummy, their tacos desherbada were very surprisingly delicious. They are crispy without the super hard taco shell so it's different and I enjoy it a lot. They have delicious aguas usually and they are fast. I wish they had a bigger area to eat in cause I would love to eat in and savor the foods. But it's right across from my work so it's great for aid week lunch. I go to Maribu's at least once a week. It's a little hidden gem right by El Dorado high school. I absolutely love the beef flautas. Every flauta plate I get, I compare to Maribu's and no one has beaten them! I even got my family and friends hooked. They are the best in town, really, and have great prices. The red and green salsa's they serve make the food even better. I get the family pack of 12 flautas and they give you a choice of a huge serving of beans or rice for $12.99. I always pick the beans. They serve you with sides of sour cream and guacamole as well. I have also had the gorditas, picadillo burritos, and caldo soup, which were all delicious. I ordered through Yelp delivery from here. The food arrived quite quickly. The order was accurate. I wish I could give 5 stars but the food was extremely bland and cold. I ordered the beef enchiladas with rice and beans, and nachos. There was no flavor. The beef enchiladas barely had any beef in it. It was approximately a teaspoon of beef per enchilada. It was also mixed with potato, which wasn't on the menu. The Mex nachos were packed with cheese, and they were a large size- definitely can share between 3 or 4 people, but no jalapeño or flavor as well. I have read reviews about their breakfast which seems to be more appetizing. I will give that a try hopefully in the future. read more

Just okay. Between we had crispy chicken, shredded beef tacos and requires, which they called flautus. Chips and salsa were very good. Home made chips and spicy salsa. The rest of the food was just bland. And the tacos were in between crispy and chewy. The shredded beef was cooked and prepared very well, again, just bland. Definitely a 2.5 star. The free check in 4oz yogurt is a terrible and insulting marketing ploy for us to go to the nearby yogurt store that is owned by the same people. read more

We stopped here based on 4.5 stars. Service was quick and people were very nice. My beans were very slightly warm. The rice was a tad warmer. The Gordita was flavorless and cold. The taco was very greasy with cold meat. The enchilada was cold and the sauce was not tasty. Maybe they were having an off day but I cannot recommend this restaurant with so many other wonderful Mexican restaurants in El Paso. read more

Delicious! I went here the other day with a few of my coworkers. We were hoping to grab a (very) quick lunch before we had to head to another meeting. Maribu's did not disappoint! We had our drinks, chips, and salsa on the table almost instantaneously, and the rest of the meal was equally as quick. Our server was friendly, attentive, and responsive, and we even had a brief visit from the chef as well, who came out to check up on how things were tasting. Love it! Each of us got something different to eat, so I can tell you that from the tacos, to the enchiladas, to the chile relleno, the food was all delicious, and everyone left happy! I will definitely have to bring the fiancé... oops! I mean husband! (still not used to that yet!) here soon. Chips and salsa were on point. Food was good. I got the enchilada plate with 1 chicken 1 shredded beef 1 ground beef. It was pretty good. The dinner came with rice and beans. We have come to this location before and have never been as disappointed as today. Came in around 6:45 pm on a Thursday. We were greeted as we came in but the location was empty and waited a bit to sit down. We ordered three dishes and our server repeated the order back to us. As we got our plates my husband received his enchiladas(which looked bone dry and the cheese was not even melted) and I received my #12 which is an enchilada(again bone dry), a taco and a Chile relleno. We were missing our third plate which was 4 tacos deshebrada. We waited a bit and noticed our food wasn't coming out so I went up to the cashier to ask if our order was coming. The guy looked confused. He placed the order and we waited long enough to finish our plates. Our tacos arrived and we opted to take the rest of the food home.
