The food here is absolutely wonderful! It's truly authentic. I ordered a plate of chile relleno, and 99.9 percent of the time, I am disappointed with restaurant chile rellenos. My mom makes the best chile rellenos so I've always had a huge standard, and when I tried their version of the plate, I was astonished! In all honesty, the only reason we stopped in here was because Good Luck Cafe is on summer vacation. Not knowing that, my wife and I had a hankering for menudo. I had noticed Jaime's many times before and even commented we should try it some day. So when we found GLC closed, today became that day. Before going in I decided to check the reviews on Yelp. Jaime's lives up to the reviews. The menudo is delicious and they give you enough to feed the UTEP defensive line. My wife loved her enchiladas montadas and my next visit will be for their authentic Mexican machaca (no Chile con queso smothering the mixture). Jaime's definitely goes on our breakfast rotation and one day we'll try lunch and dinner. read more

The food is pretty good, but I can't say the same about the service. The one thing that is always good is the Menudo.

What a beautiful little gem! I don't know whether they speak English or not, but they tolerate my imperfect Spanish.. They have a beautiful turquoise formica counter, a spacious interior and a 50 year old grill that dispenses heat better than the modern ones. If you order a breakfast dish here, your potatoes with be done faster than greased lightening! And they are tasty. They have a large bowl of Menudo for under 6.00 that they are apparently famous for. This is ok...it reminds me of a Mexican Denny's that's the only place open for food. I got the shrimp cocktail and 3 tacos. The cocktail was not really good at all it was not full of flavor and the tacos had ground beef that did not taste that great. We've (L.E.Y.) been posting up at this spot almost everyday since we moved into a warehouse across the street. This place is fucking perfect!!! We absolutely love this place and feel right at home in there. In just a matter of two weeks we've tried probably half the menu and know almost everyone that works there now. They're 24hours and good for just about any Mexican/American craving. Standouts include machaca, caldo de res & pollo, desebrada anything, hash browns, plain ole coffee, the buttered bread that comes with the menudo & the must try item being PANCAKES. I'm two bites and I already feel compelled to write this review. Aside from the amazing fact that this place is open 24, it's great that coming in here is homely and welcoming. Ordered the menudo of course and it was out right away. The menudo is just perfect! I don't always like menudo away from home because I don't like it to be spicy. Ooh baby do you know what that's worth? Ooh heaven is a place on Alameda Avenue. This is why I live in El Paso-rico menudo 24 hours a day 7 Days a week. Who wants to wait for the weekend rush? Perfect menudo and cheap, $5.50 for a big bowl of perfect tripe, hominy, deep Chile flavor, muy rico y limpio. Old style diner seating, ample street and lot parking, no nonsense service. Other dishes look good too, but I'm a menudo addict and have yet to try anything else. Credit cards over $7 or small surcharge. Been coming to this place for years. Its a cool hole in the wall joint that's open 24 hours. The prices are cheap and the food is pretty decent. The reason for 3 stars? The food was actually really good but everything else sucked horribly. Filled with flies and the service was the worst. We literally sat with empty drinks for about 20 minutes before only 2 plates out of 4 came out then another 15 minutes before the other 2 items trickled out. Jaime's Hut is a small simple place with good food and smiley faces. I never tried menudo before. I saw it on their menu and I wanted to give it a try. It was very flavorful, rich, and satisfying. The soup base is red possibly because of some mild red pepper. There are plenty of tripe pieces and corn in the soup. I added some spices and lime. It was a really good soup. I never tried it anywhere else but I don't think it gets any better than this. I also had a few other items from the menu. Everything is simple but delicious. read more
