I went in here last week to put in my application.. and it was really nice.. and wonderful friendly staff.. haven't tried the food yet but I will.. it sure gets lots of business and I admire that. :) And I was totally scared when five police men showed up and parked next to me.. The food was as always delicious, the service was excellent, waitstaff were very attentive. Although it is a Mexican restaurant that serves a non Mexican cuisine also, but I go there for the Mexican food. Conveniently located close to my residence. The complimentary chips and salsa here are delicous! The drinks comes in huge cups. I ordered a guacamole tostada which comes with beans and rice. The tostado was a bit flavorless though. Order something with meat. Prices are reasonable. The fried ice cream is huge. Didn't even eat the bowl. read more

Something led me off the interstate to find this small trendy Mexican restaurant. Although it only had about 12 tables the place was packed and continued to turn over tables throughout my meal. There was a handful of Mexican women in the kitchen and definitely brought me back to the memory of all the fresh food in Mexico at all the cantinas and taco stands. That's when you know you are in the right place. I had read the burger was great, as many Mexican restaurants have a great burger. I would think due to their well seasoned grill. I had the supreme burger with jalapjalapeños and avocado. It was superb. Moderately thin patty packed with a smoky flavor and a great crust. The smashed jalapeno and avocados were fresh and made the whole thing pop. I can't say enough about the friendly service and atmosphere. Everyone was in such a good mood that you could feel it when you walked in the door. read more

Ok, Georgia boy visits NM Mexican restaurant and find out that home made red and green chili sauce is a bit more fiery than he is used to. That's not saying the food was not good because it was. Just expect some spice. Waitress was helpful in explaining things on the menu and even let us know the red sauce was hotter than the green sauce. Thank you Hatch chili peppers. Restaurant was clean and not overly busy so you didn't have to wait to get seated. It was also nice that it was not loud inside so you could talk with the people you ate with. Very cold and not overly sweet. Bathroom was very small, but clean I think they do a good drive through business. Building capacity said 78 persons. A really nice little Mexican restaurant that is serving up authentic Mexican food here in Deming, New Mexico. The staff was so friendly. We pulled in with the RV and went in to order to go. While on a long drive going through multiple states a person can only take so much fast food along the way. This spot a New Mexico hidden gem. The inside of the place was so relaxing and cozy and felt like a true mom & pop diner. All the waitresses and cooks were so kind and thoughtful throughout their time taking our order and serving us. I had gotten the chicken tacos with beans and rice and it was not too spicy or greasy and it was not bland or flavorless either. It was the right amount of food done the right way to give my body fuel on the trip. If you have to stop anywhere in New Mexico along HWY 10 this should be your stop! read more

I would have never stopped here had it not been for my girlfriend going on about delicious Mexican good (which we are both fans of) in Deming, NM. We drive between Tucson and Las Cruces enough to want to know about any gems along the way and this is certainly one of them! We had our pups with us, so my Hubs went in and ordered us some breakfast/lunch to eat out in the care. The people that work here are very warm and welcoming and the place was busy with a constant stream of diners. We got our food quickly -- my Hubs ordered the combo plate (taco, tamale, enchilada and chile rellano) and I had the Chilaquiles. There are two big stand outs here -- the beans are fantastic. Yes, beans can be fantastic... these were, and you can tell they are totally freshly made. The Salsa -- LOVED it. As a matter of fact, they gave us this little tub of salsa to go with a bag of chips and we took it home with us. Our food was delicious. Now, the Chilaquiles... many know I am in search of the worlds best Chilaquiles. Unfortunately, these did not win that title which is still held by my Sister In Law ... they were good don't get me wrong but not off the charts. When we come through Deming next time, and we will... we are stopping again and I will try something else. Oh, and we will see if they will sell us a big tub of salsa to go! read more

After driving through the state of New Mexico recently, I was in search of a good Chile Relleno. during my recent trip through New Mexico, I stopped at two Santa Fe, restaurants, and was disappointed with their version of a Chile relleno. they were both tasteless and had been frozen at some point. One restaurant failed miserably in their version of Spanish rice. It was quite a disappointment. Fortunately, I stopped in to have dinner at the El Camino real in Deming New Mexico. I decided to give my search for a good Chile relleno another try. I was pleasantly surprised, and not only by the presentation, but the freshness and flavor of their relleno. The egg batter was perfection the meatiness of the Chile was perfection. The Asadero cheese used to stuff the relleno was perfectly cheesy.I had a couple of green chile enchiladas with the plate as well. I have to say this was the best Mexican food I have eaten in the entire Southwest. If you are anywhere near Deming, New Mexico, get off the interstate and try this gem of a Mexican restaurant you will not be disappointed. read more

El Camino Real is our go to Restaurant. Mom and I have this as our favorite Mexican Restaurant in Deming. The ambiance is pleasant . The temperature is comfortable. The bathroom is small but clean. The over all cleanliness as visible from the front is clean. The staff are prompt with excellent knowledge of the menu, clean and attentive. The food is always delicious. I have never had a less than excellent meal/eating experience. When you make it to Deming , New Mexico Jim Shoup strongly recommends El Camino Real for a comfortable, pleasant and affordable dining opportunity alone or with your family. Total hole in the wall Mexican joint right off of I-10 next to Sonic. What El Camino Real lacks in ambiance (fluorescent lights overhead, a single waitress working the room and handling take out orders) it makes up for in the food. The chips are made in house and lack salt, but the salsa rocks. It's got lots of heat from fresh chiles and that made me happy. I ordered the stuffed sopapilla with shredded beef and the red sauce had a nice warm burn to it that lingered until well after I was back on the road. The beans tasted like they were made by somebody's grandma with love. The server was friendly and was busting her tail. Skip the chains and grab your meal here. read more
