Whenever your in Southern New Mexico then green chile are a must have. Green chile and Sunrise proudly uses "Hatch" Green Chiles have a classic chile, pepper spice with a hint of honey sweetness. Hatch is a small town about an hour from Deming. My veggie omlette was perfect with the green chile. The tomatos, onions and mushrooms with the melted cheese did not require ketchup or salsa. Primarily because the salsa was already there without the lemon juices. Fresh veggies, yummy eggs and crispy green chile will wake any hungry man up after some exploration fun. The hash browns were commercialized and a great filler. I added salsa to my hash browns with some tabasco as Sunrise has many wonderful Mexican spices. Flour tortilla was chosen over the basic breads cause a place with bomb house salsa always matches better with tortilla. This little gem is tucked behind the horse supply place and my husband was hesitant to go in. But we did and boy were we glad we did. The service was efficient and friendly. The food was delicious. I very much enjoyed watching the bakery workers make huge cinnamon rolls and delicate croissants. It was a great experience and the Palmier I got was flaky and sweet. So good, and the locals know it! Definitely worth a stop if you're anywhere near. Everything looked good so we got the combination plate which is a little of everything, taco, chili relleno, enchilada, and chili con carne. Got green sauce on the chili relleno and enchilada, and the red sauce on the chili con carne. All of it was good, I cleaned my plate! But definitely not to be missed is the red sauce. Home made to the max. Family run. delicious. While eating breakfast a lady came in carrying a white iced cake and her two daughters were each carrying large baking dishes. My wife said, "i want what is in those casseroles." And it turned out that they were full of lunch special enchiladas. Certainly home-made. The breakfast specials were chili con carne with hash browns and eggs. The other was a sampler of eggs, ham, sausage, bacon and hash browns with onion and poblamo peppers. Wife had sampler, I the chili con carne. Chile con carne was really chili colorado, chunks of beef in a spicy red sauce. What a wonderful breakfast and I was happy to sop up that flavorful red elixir with my hash browns. Wife exclamed, "What a wonderful breakfast." And so it was. Grandmother and mom were in the kitchen. Son waited tables. ;Nuf said. This is a gem of a find. And in little old Demming, NM. We will route our return trip to pass through again, breakfast or lunch. We were driving thru Deming and wanted lunch. We found the Sunrise Kitchen Cafe from the high reviews on Yelp, and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!!! The chips and tortillas were homemade. The green chili sauce was wonderful. Our kids had American food that was wonderful too! Staff was friendly and the place (although a hole in the wall was clean)! Mmmm good, especially with the homemade salsa & tortillas shipped directly from Mexico (only 30 miles away). Oh & don't forget to have a cup of coffee. This is a REAL locals hangout as well. Found this little gem on the drive from Houston, Tx to Gilbert, Az. The food was fabulous . The rice was amazing reminded me of my grandmas rice she made growing up. Yummy .
