A must stop when passing by! Stopped for lunch and shopping on a Sunday around 1pm. The gift shop is great! With tons of cheese flavors as well as well as local goodies. The prices are extremely reasonable as well. I got a fabulous selection of cheeses for under $25! If you're traveling, they also have insulated bags for sale. You can go see the cows, but unfortunately tours weren't available on Sundays.

This place is so Gouda.... sorry, I had to say it, so I thought I'd get it out of the way in the beginning! I have driven by the road signs many times and have been meaning to stop in and try the restaurant, but I never seem to be in the area at mealtime. So this time I stopped in to buy some cheese! I bought some Aged Gouda and some Gouda with Caraway. They were both excellent! Actually I can't pick a favorite! Loved them both. My visit was during Covid, but I would imagine when things are hopefully back to "normal" they would have samples available. But I can make it easy, all Wisconsin Cheese is good... so you can't go wrong. Lots of other things to buy besides cheese. Kind of touristy. Along with the cheese store and restaurant there is also a working farm with tours and play areas for the kids, so bring the family and see how cows are milked and get a picture by the big cow!

Great place to stop for lunch when traveling. Their cheese is some of the best and the food is very reasonably priced. There are also some nice photo spots, tours of the farm, a store with specialty WI and Dutch products, and dog friendly areas. It's a great place to go stretch your legs and get a high quality meal along Hwy 29.

Was recently taken on a fishing trip to sturgeon bay and told we are going to stop at a place that will blow your mind. As a native Californian I wasn't sure what to expect but it wasn't a family dairy. This place is amazing! Live working dairy with tours of how it all works, they sell cows, and baby ones at that, a cheese shop which is their specialty and why the cows are such a priority and a full service shop with all kids of food, goods and sundries all done Wisconsin style. My only regret, I didn't have my kids !

For a fun little taste of WI and just a quick stop off Hwy 29, this is a must do! Delicious cheeses, farm tour, outdoor patio and a cute little cafe! Take a drive break from Minneapolis to Green Bay and get your cheese fix!

Stopped on our drive from Oshkosh to the Twin Cities and understand why people love to make a stop! If you need a place to stretch your legs and let the little ones get their wiggles out there is space to wander the farm and visit their herds. They have a smaller cheese shop but the array of their personal selections in the case are impressive. What we really stopped for was lunch and we were not disappointed - a perfectly seasoned burger with crazy fresh Gouda on top, fresh brioche bun and Spotted Cow battered cheese curds all cooked to order. My mouth is watering recollecting it...

    Its so gooooouda

This was such a cool cheese farm. They have tours that are awesome. Take one if you have the time. The store is filled with a ton of cool Holland stuff, cheese made there, and more. They also have a cafe that serves food and ice cream. The whole experience was way cool, highly recommend!

But before the cheese curd endeavor, I had ordered a scoop of ice cream which was darn near the best I've had in a very long time - so good it rivals my ultimate favorite frozen custard. I forgot the exact flavor name of ice cream, but it was a peanut butter chunk chocolate.... Also, this "scoop" of ice cream I requested was not merely a scoop, it was more like a bowl! Also picked up a variety of meat, summer sausage and meat sticks. Never can go wrong here. Highly recommended if you're within an hours drive! Funny thing to add is my work colleague was with me - he did not grow up in Wisconsin and never had fresh cheese curds. I had been talking about squeaky cheese curds before we had been here and he gave me the crazy WTF look when I was trying to describe them. Well, he popped a few into his flapper, and he started to tell me "hey, these squeak when I chew them!". He's then telling me, hey.. squeaky cheese curds... they actually squeak! Laughing his ass off at the same time ..... and amazingly, that bag disappeared very quickly

We visited a few places before deciding to drop into The Nickel Barn. I had seen the signs for it on the way to Eau Claire but wouldn't have imagined I'd end up there. Especially after already having coffee but I figured it was the one time I have to try it and it's my goal to try every coffeehouse in the world... so here we are. The Nickel Barn is literally in a barn. A big red barn. Upon walking inside, you get greeted with a large amount of antiques and a coffee counter in the back right with some ice cream and baked goods to boot. While I was there to try their coffee, I never not look around and this place has some truly unique antique pieces. Tim and I looked around for a bit before ordering coffee. Tim got some kind of refresher and I got my usual americano. We took our drinks to a sitting area where, to our surprise, they had some board games. We took some time to chill out, sip our drinks, and play a few different games. I liked one so much that I ended up buying it a few days later at a board game store in Oakwood Mall. The americano was good. Not super bitter like I typically like but more smooth and mellow. After having an americano a few hours before, it was probably best that I had something with less punch. Tim really liked his drink and wanted something non-caffeinated since he is usually only good for one coffee-type drink a day. Overall, The Nickel Barn was really cool Not a lot I would buy when it comes to antiques since that's not really my vibe but I can vouch for the coffee being really good. Plus, the barista was doing a really good job manning the front counter and the drive-thru window.
