They have been performing since 1985. We came to see Miracle On 34th Street. Having seen the movie almost as many times as years-old my teeth are, I was looking forward to seeing how the story would be developed for the stage. It was a very lovely production with some actors exuding the same persona as their respective movie character. Others confused me slightly because the sex of the character was changed so that I had to get use to a female performing the role played by a male in the movie. But the story line remained true and the entire cast provided an exemplary performance. I would suggest you arrive early. While the parking lots are not far away, if there is anything close to a sellout crowd you will likely have a decent walk to the entrance. The seats are very comfortable but the leg room is a bit tight.

We came early for a parking space which was smart. It isn't even checking vaccination status that slows it down, it is inconsiderate people showing up late. The production can't start until they are seated because the actors would be sidelined because of people coming in late. They need to close the doors at 2 and make people wait until intermission, then they'll get the message. No concessions to speak of. No snacks, no beer or wine. I saw water and ginger ale. It will be nice when this fledgling theatre finally gets off the ground. Doubtful to return until then. The play and actors were great. Really enjoyed it. Plus no hearing loop, but I know that comes much later, more established theatres don't have it. Difficult for hearing impaired.

You will emerge into a big private dining room which doubles as the home of The Murder on Us Dinner theater. They rotate a series of different plays, and tonight, as we hit the top of the stairs, we were greeted by the perplexing sight of a coffin ! We started off with a cocktail hour, and about half way through our drinks, we heard the sound of a wailing banshee. The mourners had arrived ! We met four members of the O'Sullivan clan, and Mary Margaret who were all on hand for our play -Murder at the Irish Wake. They mingled with us in character for a half hour before we were seated, and that was a lot of fun. Scenes of the play were interwoven through the various courses of dinner - soup, salad, your choice of four pre-selected entrees (Sirloin, Salmon, Chicken, or Rigatoni, all with mashed potatoes and a medley of vegetables), a terrific loaf of fresh French bread, and a slice of chocolate cake. The play involved the mid-wake death of one of the mourners, and we had to figure out who the murderer was, how the dastardly deed was accomplished, and what the motive was. It wasn't fine dining, and it wasn't Al Pacino or Meryl Streep, but we sure had a very fun time!

The chicken I ordered was so hard I couldn't even chew it. The rice was clumped together as if it had been sitting in a pot for hours. Overall, the dinner itself was subpar at best. The staff was overwhelmed and disorganized throughout the evening. Service felt chaotic rather than coordinated. As for the show, the acting was extremely poor. It felt like a random mishmash of people pulled together at the last minute. The performances lacked polish, professionalism, and energy. No one was had microphones it was absurd. There was a lot of yelling and overacting, & little skill. It felt more uncomfortable than entertaining. A very frustrating part was the detective storyline. The clues did not logically connect to the ending, making it nearly impossible to actually solve the mystery in a satisfying way. It was disjointed and poorly written. The seating was also cramped. Tables were packed so tightly that you could barely move without bumping elbows with strangers. For the price, I expected a much more organized, engaging, and high-quality experience. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this event to anyone. Do NOT GO.

Our party ranged in age from 16 to 83, and every single one of us had an unbelievably fun time! There were 7 actors involved in the murder show, but a few of them were scattered here and there as "plants" at various tables. They all did an amazing job of acting, even the plants who only had a few minutes of action. The two main detectives were fantastic! There was a lot of interaction throughout the show with each of the ten or so dinner tables. In fact, I was selected to assist the two main detectives as a "Rookie" detective. I leaned into the role and really really enjoyed myself! It helps if you're a "yes, and" kind of person rather than a "no, because" type. And I'd say that's true of the show overall because they frequently singled out people by asking them to stand up and answer some questions or even come up to the front of the room and act something out. The food was acceptable, and the bartended cash bar drinks were fine. The quality of the food and drinks is probably going to vary by venue. We went to the show in the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Warwick, RI. The plot of the murder story was actually just difficult enough that you had to do some thinking to solve it. And they gave you enough clues that it was definitely solvable for a few people, including one at our table who solved the mystery of "who done it" and won their award for the best explanation! All of us in our group absolutely want to do another Dinner Detective Murder Mystery Dinner Show! It's incredibly fun if you go with the right attitude!!
