The Office is amazing! We held our wedding reception there recently and it was everything we wanted it to be. We had our Company holiday party of 30 people here, and it was fantastic! The space is just amazing. Easily room for more. We brought in our own caterer and slipped in a photo booth. Michelle at Marigold had everything working seamlessly for us. We set the party for 4 hours and no one was ready to leave when our time was up. We held our wedding reception at The Office and had an amazing time! We worked with Jacobo to book the venue and get everything set up, and cannot speak highly enough of him and his staff -- he was super responsive and helpful, and an amazing bartender the night of also! We had about 50 guests in the space and it was just the right size -- large enough for everyone to mingle comfortably, but small enough to feel intimate. The vibe and decor felt perfect for us as well -- swanky with the lighting, furniture & detailing, and the impressive bar setup. Our guests definitely got some good use out of the shuffleboard table. Maybe more importantly, the drinks were amazing! We were able to rename the cocktails on the menu to custom names, which was really fun for us and our guests, and everyone loved the cocktails as well as the ability to order any off-menu drink desired. We also worked with Hil's Catering and Photomatica for a photobooth, both partnered with The Office which made setup really easy. We got tons of compliments on both the quality of the food and enjoyment of the photobooth. The space was perfect for our group of 35 (it can accommodate a lot more than that comfortably) as it was super private (separate entrance from The Churchill Bar), great rustic/industrial décor, an awesome bar, plenty of seating and tables, and a sound system that sounded great. And it was a super easy location for people to get to! I worked with Jacobo in helping me develop a fun and memorable experience for my boyfriend's 40th birthday party. He was responsive, professional, and just made the entire process super easy. He allowed us to do an early walk-thru of the space, helped us on the day of the event with some prep, and he even developed a custom cocktail list that added just that right touch of class to the event. We rented Marigold and Churchill for our 100p Holiday Party in Dec. Michelle was great to work with, responsive, accommodated all our little special needs or was clear about why they were no gos. Their in-house catering was good (most of the food was good, few small issues like they didn't rent knives, vegan food didn't come out on time, etc). Make sure to get full pricing upfront - tax, service, etc, as venue fee alone can be deceiving. The bartenders were very nice, the cocktails were delicious. It was easy to plug into the soundsystem and we had two DJs going, only issue was that the downstairs gets really loud when its full and it's almost impossible to hear someone speaking (into a microphone on full volume) over the sound of the crowd. Jacobo and his team at The Office were professional and a pleasure to work with for our wedding on 5/20. He was always responsive and detailed in his answers to us. He met us personally to show us the space beforehand as well as during our final walkthrough with our vendors. While Jacobo wasn't there the night of the wedding, the staff were super friendly during the whole evening and were on top of everything. The space itself is right above Churchill through a non-descript door that may be easily missed. It has a nice, speakeasy feel to it with ambient lighting and plenty of space. We found it to be perfect for our small, intimate wedding of about 40 guests. There was plenty of seating for our guests to eat, drink, and hang out. In addition, there's also a shuffle board which our guests thoroughly enjoyed -- it was a hit! While we didn't go with a DJ for our event, there are hookups for your personal laptop or tablet device which we utilized; no problems on that end and everything went smoothly with the PA system. It's such a classy venue combined with elegance with speakeasy touch. Jacobo is the man for putting together this venue for a private birthday party! He is super responsive in all emails. We were going to throw a small party for family and friends at the Office to celebrate the occasion of our marriage, however Covid happened and we were forced to cancel our party indefinitely. Despite the fact that we will not be able to hold our reception there to this unforeseen circumstance, I want to leave a review for the place based on my interaction with Jacobo and the visit I paid to the venue in the past. First of all, I cannot describe how pleasant of an experience my interaction with Jacobo has been. He was very responsive, detail-oriented, and accommodating. Communication with him was easy and he was so willing to help me in all aspects of organizing the party. I've only visited the venue once and I was very impressed with how intimate and nice the place was. It would have been a very fun party if we didn't have to cancel. We couldn't have been happier with our wedding reception we had at The Office back in early May 2014. We worked with Jacobo from the beginning, and he was always friendly, prompt and responsive, and all-around a great help with every step of the event. We had about 75 people attend, as well as a 5-person band and a photo booth -- both of which were big hits with us and our guests -- and The Office was the perfect size for the event. We did a lot of searching around San Francisco for a venue that would suit our modest budget, and The Office was by far the best place we found. Considering the space and design, along with the quality of the drinks and catering options, we were so happy we found this place!! Jacobo even offered to let us sample some cocktails prior to the event so we could choose a couple signature drinks! On the night of the event, everything was set up according to what we'd planned and the whole night went really smoothly -- and, most importantly, was incredibly fun! Jacobo and one other bartender served up some fantastic cocktails, and many of our friends commented on how awesome the drinks and staff were. My partner recently booked The Office venue for a Thursday evening fundraiser and we had an excellent experience. We arrived early to set up the and prepare for the event. My partner worked with Jacobo in advance to coordinate logistics and discuss event needs. The location is in the Castro district across from the Safeway in the Duboce triangle. Its upstairs above Churchill Bar through a separate entry. Although the area is busy, and I got stuck in a one way only circle (good ole SF) I got free parking right across the street on the street! The actual space is SO gorgeous!! In fact pictures don't do it justice. I was surprised when I arrived since I only previously saw Yelp pics. It has a rustic shabby chic yet upscale and urban feel. I literally told Tomas, I want to have ALL our parties! Imagine classic wooden and metal furniture, a few leather arm chairs, large bay windows, and a shuffle board game. Call me weird, but I think the behind the scenes spaces say a lot about an event space since often times the beauty doesn't continue throughout the venue. With that said, the kitchen was clean and the bathrooms are super nice. Plus, it is located upstairs which allows for great lighting for photographs. The staff is super cool, and the drinks were super tasty! I tried a fruity drink with blood orange in a martini glass that was perfectly blended. I imagine this space is good for wedding receptions, birthday parties, large group meetings, and it was the perfect size for the fundraiser. Its a great hidden gem - an event space with class, character, and good vibes. I look forward to having another event here. read more

Everyone totally dug it and felt very appreciated!!! The space is fantastic- they've done a lot of work to make it cozy and elegant at the same time. The views of Church & Market are awesome, and there is plenty of places to sit and chill out with your favorite people. The staff was SO great- we had our own bouncer, bartenders and event planner on site. They were super responsive and helpful before the event, and they were all extremely professional, efficient and and friendly from start to finish of the party. The drinks were amazing, and I'm still dreaming about that cucumber gimlet. We brought in our own food, and Kelly, the event planner made sure everything stayed warm and filled all night. As the Julie McCoy, Cruise Director, of my circle, I was totally impressed and felt like everything that we needed or wanted was done. Really can not say enough good things about this event space & staff, and I'm sure every single one of us will be recommending it to all our friends. I'm already scheming when I can find another excuse to throw a party here. If you are in the market for a space, just do it here. He was extremely prompt in his replies, and was able to help me take care of everything I needed over email. The venue is absolutely beautiful. Our party was a 1960s Mad Men theme and the furniture and decor fit really well with our theme. Carlos, our bartender was super friendly and made delicious drinks, our guests couldn't stop raving about them. The location is great, with plenty of street parking available. There is a full kitchen and you can serve delicious warm food, right along side a full and sleek bar. There is a good bit of seating, while still having plenty of dance space. I just had my wedding (both ceremony and reception) here, and it was seamless and wonderful. We rented out The Office for my husband's 40th Birthday party and am SO GLAD we did! From the first contact, Jacobo was quick in responses and more than helpful in working with us throughout the entire process. FOOD You can either get food catered in for a fee or bring your own at no cost. We advised our friends to grab dinner before but since it was an open bar for 4 hours we provided food to nosh on. Normally you are able to set up an hour before the party start time but Jacobo let us in a couple of hours early AND set it up for us so all we had to do was drop it (the food) off. SPACE The space is HUGE! We had a group of 28 but it can easily fit a lot more and still not feel cramped. There is plenty of seating and a shuffleboard if that is of interest. Our friends want to host another event here.... it really is a great spot! There are 2 bathrooms, very well kept! You are able to bring in your own music to hook up to their speaker system. DRINKS Jacobo was our bartender and he was fast! Never was there a line and he remembered what people were drinking... customer service at its best! We recently had our belated office holiday party at Marigold. It was FANTASTIC. Michelle helped us every step of the way, from planning our original event to rescheduling it to day-of set up. She was so responsive to every question we had, whether big or small, and made sure we had access to the space to visit ahead of time so we could envision our team and our party in the space. As someone who hadn't planned an office party before, it was so easy doing it through Marigold. The space was perfect for our 25 person team (but could definitely have accommodated more!) I can see how the space would be adaptable for pretty much any type of party. The drinks were amazing (we got to make a custom drink menu in addition to the open bar) and our bartender Carlos was so nice. Marigold's catering partner Hil's Catering was delicious. I came here for an alumni networking reception. The room was really, really nice, and the bar was fully stocked. It was a bit hot though, and our group didn't fill the space (we were about 30 at the peak), so I'd be worried about heat in an even larger group. Also a bit noisy, but I actually think that would be helped by having a larger group in there. The shuffleboard was a nice touch! Would definitely recommend this space for parties, events, etc. The bartenders were great, and you can bring food in.
