What we tried: + Tuna Tartare [5/5]: Really delicious tuna; fresh and spicy. The wasabi aioli was really good but I wish there was more of it. Good ratio of the chips to tuna. + Mushroom Risotto [6/5 - would recommend]: This was actually a perfect risotto dish. The portion size was huge and the mushrooms + cheese were perfect. I would order this again! + Pork Chop [2/5]: The dish was beautifully plated but the pork was dry and overcooked IMO. The seasoning was pretty good and the peppers that accompany the protein are great, but I didn't particularly enjoy this dish. Service checks in quite often and felt quite professional. Went in for a nice Saturday brunch which we had to wait for due to brunch service running late. Including my table there were about 3 other tables outside and no patrons inside. 20 dollars for a below average Bloody Mary not even close to worth the price, not to mention we waited about 10 minutes for each cocktail for some reason as again there was literally no one inside. Food and drinks were nothing I would come back to, server was nice but missed things like for our table. Walked in on a Friday night around 9:30 pm after missing our dinner reservation elsewhere and we were able to snag a table indoors with no wait! The view is absolutely gorgeous from indoors, with wraparound floor to ceiling windows giving you a panoramic view of the city. Setting is a lot more intimate and cozy. The menu is only one side, leaving no frills but something for every diet. They have a live DJ playing music making this restaurant truly the perfect place to start your weekend. We ordered the roasted bone marrow and chicken caesar salad for our appetizers. Both great and pretty filling together, the portions for the salad were more than generous. We ordered the mushroom risotto and braised short rib for our main entrees. The mushroom risotto had the perfect amount of parmesan and butter, this alone was filling enough. Short rib was pretty dry, paired well with the risotto but overall we could've done without. The staff is quick to refill your drinks but the food does come out pretty slowly, highly recommend ordering everything at once so you're not waiting for your entrees. Made reservations for dinner on a Wednesday night at 8pm. We arrived over 15 mins late and they were able to seat us right away. Service was really great even though the place was packed. There was a tech event on the other side of the rooftop so it was popping. There are good views and you can sit outside by the couches. It was pretty cold so we sat inside right by the glass doors separating the inside from outside. The food overall was a bit underwhelming. The oysters didn't taste as fresh as expected, though the bluefin tuna tartare was a highlight--well-balanced and enjoyable. The roasted cauliflower, on the other hand, lacked flavor and depth and ended up feeling like a pretty forgettable starter. For my main, I had the braised short rib. The meat was tender and nicely cooked, but the dish leaned quite heavy and a bit too salty--I ended up taking half to go and found myself reaching for water throughout the meal. On a more positive note, the cocktails were yummy. The Summer Breeze in particular stood out. It was refreshing, well-balanced, and not overly sweet. read more

As lovely as the view is here, I definitely did not get to enjoy my time here as much as I would have hoped. I was dining alone and it seemed like they decided when I was done ordering from the menu. I ordered a oaxacan old fashioned and the cheese charcuterie board, which was absolutely delicious! That was all the food I got to try, though. After finishing my drink, I asked the waiter who came over about the strongest drink on their menu, which he said was the oaxacan. That sounded great, so I asked for a refill. However he then took the menu without saying anything which confused me a bit. After returning with my drink he thanked me for joining them so I figured that was them signaling I was done ordering! We were able to make a 4 pm reservation on open table for this spot, this is becoming more and more common now for eating/hang spots to do this, takes making the reservations off of their plate. This spots views were incredible to say the least. Awesome awesome feature that lived up to the hype. Obviously because of the views most people when they come here request to be seated outside where they're right in plain site of all the tall buildings, even shots of the Bay from the outside too, it's awesome. We ordered a few rounds of Old Fashioneds. Then a round of rose. My wife also tried out the raw oysters too. The drinks were quality, made perfect. One thing I want to mention here was the service we got. Both our server & the bar tender were awesome. For some odd reason our phones were draining battery like crazy. We then Uber Eats ordered 2 charging cords & a hub, the bartender helped me out and charged both of our phones rotating them for us behind his register at the outlet. Huge help to us. Great setting. Great bar. Great location and view. That's where the praise has to stop. Eggs Benedict isn't supposed to be hard-cooked eggs unless I asked for that. And not on crusty, hard to cut bread. Yuck. Waitress never checked back, never refilled our water, never offered a drink refill or asked us to order another round. Just a lot of basics of service and cooking that were missed, especially when they put the price point so high. We've been here before for dinner and it worked better. A friend had recommended Shelby's, and I was glad to have secured a patio spot walk-in (no RSVP) just slightly before 9pm on a Saturday night. At the time, it wasn't too busy but by 10pm? Wow did it get PACKED with barely space to line up. I had their drink closest Paloma - so good that I had forgotten the name. It was super tasty, super strong (yes you'll feel it) and also on the sweeter end. The sweetness unfortunately couldn't have been adjusted. Drinks aside, the ambiance was pleasant and could be intimate. Sit by the window and watch the sunset or the stars; it's amazing. This is a place for the views, vibes, and drinks. If you're feeling hungry, I wouldn't recommend this place. We got the Saffron Pappardelle pasta and it almost tasted like boiled pasta. You can barely taste the sauce, and it's really bland. The place wasn't as busy so it made me wonder why the server wasn't checking in on us or refilling our water. We were seated for 25 minutes with our menus and we had to walk up to a server to let them know we are ready to order. I'm hoping they are just doing that so people can enjoy the views, but it would be nice to get one check in to see how we're doing. Overall the food is pretty good but quite pricey for what it is, but I think the vibes and environment really set it apart. We were invited to an intimate 18th birthday here, out on the terrace. The location is very unique, prior to this I didn't even know it existed. It was definitely cold that evening, there are heat lamps but they don't seem to reach the table spaces, I felt like they were heating the walkways more than anything. They do provide blankets on request. Our party ordered mostly tapas to share and one main dish to share as well: roasted cauliflower, tuna tartare, prosciutto & burrata flatbread, pan roasted red cod, the braised short bread, and the bread pudding to finish it off. The girls also ordered Shirley Temples. I will have to say the tuna tartares were the stars of the night as we ended up ordering 2. And the bread pudding was delicious as well. To start I can walking in to the restaurant was absolutely gorgeous. The lighting was dark and sultry, the skyline was clear and the city felt alive. The music was top notch and sent me right into a state of feeling like the main character... However, the food broke the fantasy... We had ordered the butternut squash risotto and the rice felt a little more than al dente. Not the biggest fan. The fish was dry and the pate missed the mark. I came by this place this past weekend and unfortunately left extremely disappointed. It was my sister's birthday so I wanted to take her to a nice rooftop since she had never been to San Francisco and it was her first time. When entering the building the friendly staff in the lobby directed us to the elevator and told us the restaurant was located on the twelfth floor. The view was beautiful although we didn't get a table by the view and had even waited for one while one waiter waived at us to another table. There wasn't much interaction for the first ten minutes we sat down, then a waiter came to order our drinks. The waiter began to get annoyed by us ordering things off their menu they didn't even have "in stock". We had never been there before and their menu is not a large selection so that became uncomfortable. The food was not the best and very underwhelming for the price point. After bringing a few plates of food out, our waiter did not return the remainder of the time we were there. I even tried to wave him down with the menu and make eye contact, he simply turned the other way and walked away. We all decided after another fifteen minutes we would not order another drink and leave. We decided to ask another waiter passing by if they could bring the check. Once we received the check we paid and the waiter who did not come back to our table after serving our food practically ran over to our table to retrieve the money. He then walked between my sister and I counting the money in our face and walking away from us without saying a word. I genuinely hate when I have to leave a bad review but after seeing so many reviews based off service alone I feel comfortable writing this as I am not the only one who experienced such thing. It's very disappointing to see so many people mention bad service and nothing be done about it especially being owned by Hilton. I am shocked by this experience as I cannot remember the last time I had such a horrible interaction. For these reasons I cannot recommend this place to others. There was some kind of street music you could hear on the 12th floor and no music playing in the bar area or so low and really drab they need some edm or something playing. I came here on Sunday with my friend. We made a reservation, so we were able to be seated right after on the outside. The view is immaculate as you were able to see skyscrapers and various buildings. This rooftop lounge was on the 12th floor of a hotel. It felt amazing to be level with some of the skyscrapers and enjoy the sunset. The outside was perfect for cute pics with your friends while sipping on some wine and indulging on a cute little dessert. There are some heat lamps, so it wasn't too chilly. My friend and I ordered the Whispering Angel Rose and a cheesecake. The rose was on the sweeter side which I loved! The cheesecake is a burnt basque cheesecake and had this amazing citrus sauce on the side. The cheesecake was light and the citrus made it slightly tart. Our server was attentive and checked in with us every once in a while. My friend and I took the Muni Metro to get here and it was less than a 5 minute walk from the station! I was really looking forward to dining at Shelby in San Francisco because the restaurant is beautiful. The view and ambiance were definitely the highlights of our visit, and the food itself was enjoyable. Unfortunately, our experience with our server, Alex, fell far below expectations. When he first approached our table, he never greeted us. I politely asked if they served fries, and instead of simply answering my question, he gave me a dismissive look and flared his nose as if I was inconveniencing him. It made me so uncomfortable that I honestly felt nervous about asking him for ketchup afterward. To make matters worse, the restaurant wasn't even busy, so it didn't seem like the lack of service was due to being overwhelmed. After our food was delivered, Alex never returned to our table to ask how everything was, check if we needed refills, or see if there was anything else he could get us. Because he never came back, I never had the opportunity to ask for the ketchup I wanted. He also never offered us a dessert menu or asked if we'd like anything else before bringing the check. At one point, several people who appeared to be his friends came into the restaurant, and he spent what seemed like about 30 minutes talking with them at the bar while our table was completely ignored. I do want to recognize the busser, who appeared to be a Hispanic gentleman. He was incredibly kind, attentive, and professional. He noticed that our service wasn't great, apologized for our experience, and took a moment to have a pleasant conversation with us. We asked for both his name and our server's name, but he wasn't comfortable providing either. We were only able to identify our server as Alex because his name was printed on our receipt. The busser's kindness stood in sharp contrast to the service we received from our server. I understand that everyone can have an off day, but hospitality starts with greeting your guests, checking on them after their food arrives, and making sure they have everything they need. Unfortunately, that didn't happen during our visit. The view, ambiance, food, and exceptional busser deserve recognition, but the poor service from our server overshadowed what could have been a wonderful dining experience. I hope management uses this as an opportunity to improve because the restaurant has a lot of potential. read more

We booked a table for 9 ppl during Databricks summit week. We arrive 15 minutes before our table reservation and they could not see us. They told us until 6:30. When 6:30 came they had no table for us. They had to move someone out of their table, but it took another 15 minutes. Therefore we couldn't order appetizers. It was a big rush. It was very noisy. I don't think I will come back to this restaurant. The food was not that great and when we asked for menus, they brought us one singular menu. I actually bust our table several times taking empty plates to the kitchen because we had such a stack of plates on our table. We ordered coffee and the Shelby's breakfast plate (with bacon) and were thrilled with the quality of food, coffee and service provided. I ordered my eggs over-medium and they were cooked perfectly! The sourdough toast was crunchy yet chewy with butter and a little jar of jam on the side. The bacon was crispy (as I like it) and the potatoes were nicely seasoned too. The server was around often refilling water and coffee so we never were left wanting for more. Popped in for a nightcap and experienced the same gorgeous views (but at night) but found the prices of drinks a bit more steep for the area/ experience.
