After successfully working with…read moreJet Dog to take our pup on weekly walks, we were excited about the prospect of them boarding her while we were away. Unfortunately very disappointed with the experience. While being boarded, our dog Zazie was bitten by another dog. We were never informed that she would be boarded with dogs she had never met, nor were we notified when the incident occurred. In fact, we only learned about the bite two full days later, and only after a wound became visibly noticeable. When we spoke with the boarder, we were told the bite did not warrant a vet visit because the wound was "nice and red and not smelly." We had to push for veterinary care ourselves. Once seen by a vet, it was clear this assessment was wrong, as the wound required cleaning and stitches. Unfortunately, the problems didn't stop there. The cone that was placed after the initial vet visit either came off or was not properly monitored, resulting in the stitches coming out. Zazie had to be taken back to the vet for a second procedure involving staples. That visit cost $280, and despite the injury and follow-up complications occurring entirely under Jet Dog's supervision, they refused to cover even a portion of the cost. Incidents can happen in group settings, but what matters is transparency, urgency, and accountability. Jet Dog failed on all three fronts:     *    No disclosure about unfamiliar dogs being boarded together     *    A two-day delay in notifying us about a serious bite incident     *    Downplaying the wound that required medical attention     *    Refusal to take responsibility for resulting veterinary expenses When you leave your pet with a boarding service, you are trusting them with your dog's safety and well-being. In our experience, that trust was not respected and we are sharing this so other pet owners can make an informed decision.

We have complete trust when it comes to them taking care of our dog, as well as picking up/dropping off from our house even in moments when we're not around. Sadly we're moving out of the area and will hopefully be lucky enough to find similar care for our dog.

I can't say enough good things about how much they have helped my dogs stay exercised, socialized, and balanced. I am very grateful for Junko's dedication and care of my dogs. All of my dogs have absolutely loved going out with the pack. After my two dogs passed away, we added our newest puppy during the shut-down and I was worried about how to socialize her properly. Junko helped by starting my 14 week-old on neighborhood walks with her own dogs and then progressed her to walking with the pack. Our dog Lupin joined the pack at around 8 months of age, as we were looking for a way for him to socialize with other dogs and get some exercise while we had work. He was shy and nervous around other dogs, but also curious. Over the year, with a few group walks a week, he has blossomed into a social pup, and loves to play with other dogs! He has improved his off leash skills and endurance for hiking. It has been an amazing transformation for him one year later! Kelsey was able to have Lupin stay with her over night too, as we both worked overnight occasionally. It was so comforting to know he was always in good hands. He was always safe and happy with her. Kelsey is amazing herself, and is super positive and energetic and will truly love your dog. We were sad to have to move this summer, and we haven't found anything that compares to walks with Kelsey. She listened to my concerns, and made me feel comfortable about my dog going out with his new friends. Before my dog Hank went out with the pack Sharnae organized a Meet and Greet at my home. Hank and I were able to meet all the walkers, and I had the chance to talk about any quirks that Hank has. All the walkers were so kind, knowledgable and professional. Hank went on walks twice and week, and every time I came home from work after his walks he was so happy and tired. Sharnae sent me the best photos of Hank and his friends on the walks. All the dogs looked so happy! Hank has a very sensitive stomach, and they would also let me know if anything seemed off with him that day. I ran into one of the walkers on their pack walk at The Berkeley Marina once, and Hank was so happy to see them! I was so impressed by how much control the walker had over all the dogs. They were all well taken care of, and happy! I moved out of state, and I truly miss The Balanced K9. They are amazing!!

A dog that has a history of attacks and that recently mauled an employee's arm (reported to animal control if anyone would like to fact check), a situation in which the owner has yet to take accountability for. If you are a person that cares how your dog is treated behind closed doors, or better yet a person who believes in workers rights and protections, I would steer clear of this boarding service. The few negative reviews are evidence of the chaos slipping through the facade. Do not ignore them.

He woke me up several times that night after I brought him home. He was agitated, seeking comfort. He'd been nicked and in some spots was shaved so close the skin was exposed. When we first arrived -- before I left him to be groomed -- he responded with panic. I have felt such regret for not listening to him and the plea in his gaze not to leave him. I wonder what he sensed. I will post a photo of how he looks after an excellent grooming elsewhere, and another of how he looked when I picked him up from Spaw. I didn't post a review at the time because I felt the owner was nice and meant well -- but I can't drive past the business without a shudder.

We've recently moved to this area, and all our previous grooming experiences elsewhere have been positive. I had provided Taj with clear instructions for my dog's grooming: poodle paws, teddy-bear face, and a summer cut for his body. However, my dog came back with visible razor burns, uneven patches of fur, and nails that weren't trimmed. I was also in absolute disbelief that his face was completely shaved, contrary to our discussion.
