This is an adorable coffee stop where locals of Novato go to. Located in the cute shopping center where Nugget Market is. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating! Bring your kids, dogs, friends, dog's friends, etc. If you're gluten free and are cravin' some pastries, this is the place! Tons of flour-free options that look tasty and good. Savory dishes also available, like a frittata. Only had a coffee this time around ($2 for a small decaf), and it met my needs. Will be back! read more

Stopped in today on a road trip up north. Very unwelcoming staff who seemed perturbed by customers ordering drinks? (Odd business model). Younger darker haired woman working behind the counter was very callous and rude. Drink was actually great and it was a beautiful sunny day so I didn't let her bad attitude ruin the day. I hope the employees realize they are in a customer service oriented business and interactions with the public is key! I usually like to try to support local businesses, but I'll go to Pete's across the freeway next time. read more

The people that work here are attentive and super friendly. The coffee is flavorful and there are many options. Their chai latte is the best in the area. They have many food options for breakfast or snacks. And the patio is pleasant to hang out in. read more

Marin Coffee Roasters on Ignacio Blvd. in Novato, California is one of my favorite places to grab a coffee and possibly a muffin or other item on the way to work. Very friendly establishment and proactive towards customers experience and safety. The barista (mornings) does her absolute best towards preparing drinks and making recommendations. She remembers people by face and name, always has a smile and does a great job. The manager engages with people and also ensures that people are having a great experience and enjoys both the product and service. read more

Indoors was a sauna. Not sure how folks can enjoy a hot drink in there. They do have great outdoor seating. Also, I did enjoy their mocha. It was perfect to give me a boost for a morning bike ride. read more

Love supporting local so I decided to try this coffee shop post workout the other day. Great coffee and AWESOME breakfast burritos! They also have tons of assorted pastries from a local bakery and cute gifty items. There are a handful of tables outside to enjoy your breakfast in the sun. Staying nearby, the husband and I stopped here for coffee several days in a row. They have a really nice patio area, as well as an inside space that opens up to the outside. Unlike many coffee shops, at least when we were there, tables weren't taken up by folks with laptops, which was a nice change! There seemed to be a good selection of bakery items, and the spinach quiche we tried one morning was quite good. They were also willing to fill up our big travel cups with ice, and they have a water spigot at the cream and sugar station, which was super convenient. And of course, since it's in a strip mall, there's plenty of parking. However, after a number of lattes, it seemed like some of the baristas didn't quite get the differences between a latte and a cappuccino. If a latte feels super light when you pick it up, that's a giveaway that there's way too much foam...and I order a latte specifically because I don't care for much foam. I never went back and asked, but it did get frustrating, given the "L" written on the cup. I'm not a coffee connoisseur by any stretch, so I'm not about to try to tell a barista how to make coffee, but...it was pretty annoying. That said, it's a nice place to get coffee, and I'd be pretty likely to return here if I'm ever in the area again. read more

I do enjoy coming here. It's close to the school I attend which is how I found Marin Coffee Roasters in the first place. I visit whenever I'm in Marin. Great coffee! Smooth taste. Few things are better than a great cup of coffee you know will taste wonderful every time. I gave a 4 instead of 5 because while the customer service is pleasant, I have had better. The gentleman with the accent is friendly with the customers & also knows the regulars - says hello to them, etc. It's awesome to see that. I don't see it with the other staff much, though. Either way, if you're in Marin & want a nice cup of Joe, this is the place! read more

I really like this place. It's local, the staff is friendly, and the coffee is good. It's a nice location, in the Ignacio shopping center, with plenty of free parking. The floor to ceiling glass sliding doors open up the entire shop on a nice day making it feel very open and comfortable. The bakery items are hard to beat. Very tasty! The coffee is a bit expensive if you're getting something specialized, sometimes surpassing Peets and Starbucks. But it's worth it to me sometimes as it's supporting a local venture. Been here many times and will keep coming back. read more

They don't have a lot of good coffee drink options, especially high quality or organic and if they could bring in a local, craft baker for pastries it would make a world of difference. They've never had good, high quality breakfast or pastry options unfortunately. Disappointing bc the location is nice but they need to up their quality game big time. read more

Great coffee, food, and service. Enough parking. Places to sit. Clean inside and out. I love the North Beach blend. It's what I drink at home. I never have to wait in line for very long, and they are well staffed and efficient. I especially appreciate this after my stop at Peet's this morning, where there was a very long line and only two people working. I ended up leaving and going to MCR. read more

The service is great but my cappuccino was really, really bad. The espresso was burnt and there was no milk with my foam. It's a really busy, popular place, so I'm hoping my experience was a one-off. For $5+ for a coffee I'd expect better. read more

We live in the neighborhood and used to come here quite often. We saw a lot of turnover (which is understandable for a coffee shop) but then the new kids just had no idea what they were doing. (I blame poor training on management for that). We hadn't been there in awhile so decided to stop in this morning and dealt with the RUDEST man at the register. His lips were seriously super glued into a frown. No joke, completely incapable of smiling or making us feel welcome. The coffee was good though! Too bad other coffee shops are good and have a pleasant staff. Hope they figure it out. Love the place and the owners are quite nice. read more

I come here almost every morning, not as much because I'm crazy about the coffee, but more so because they are fast and usually never have a line. They have good pastries and most of the people running the front are very nice (a few not so friendly). I do however have an couple of issues with the way the drinks are made: 1. I see them re-steam milk all the time (burnt milk - gross) 2. Sometimes it seems like they are either pulling the shots too long and they are coming out more bitter or they are not using the shots soon enough before they expire. 3. I rarely see them clean out their milk pitchers before reusing them 4. They often times don't use thermometers so my drink either comes out like liquid magma or luke warm bath water. I may just be a coffee snob but some of these are just nono's. The location is, however, ideal for me. Very close to my job and a quick in and out to get to work on time. I like the place but I think tightening up on standards is called for here. read more

Not sure how it's been under our radar but I had a great cup of coffee and my wife loved her cappuccino. Warm service as well and happy to be supporting a local business instead of a giant chain. Nestled within a cute little upscale square. They have choices of savory and sweet treats. Definitely a tad more $. True to the Marin vibe. Smaller more intimate shop, no wifi. Plenty of outdoor tables for when the sun is out and for people watching. read more

Thus is my favorite place to get coffee tea and anything else! The new staff is very kind and happy to help with anything, they only charge for more than 4 shots if syrup which is amazing because Starbucks charges for each shot. The Thai boba/bubble tea is delicious. Make sure to get it blended because then it feels and looks like a frappuchino ! (But tastes like boba) THIS PLACE IS AMAZING read more

I LOVE the coffee from here so they normally would be a 5 star but the Boba was tragic! The pearls were reminded me of what comes from a winter cold because they were so soggy and the thai tea was flavorless which I have NEVER had that problem with Thai Tea. I will try again on another day because I believe in second chances when otherwise I might have liked the place. This is my go-to coffee spot! I stop here for my daily morning joe on the way to work (plus their divine pumpkin-cream cheese bread year-round). We just started buying their roasted beans (House blend and Costa Rica) to brew at home on the weekends. We went through three bags over Thanksgiving with our house guests it was so delicious! I absolutely adore this place due to health issues I cannot drink coffee but I can do tea! I was so tired of the same boring non coffee drinks at Starbucks/Pete's and this place is one of the only gems in Novato that offer true variety and amazing customer service! Not only do they know them all by name and carry on a conversation day to day, but where else would the staff greet you with a Gandalf quote after finding out you were a Lord of the Rings fan?
