I am very impressed with Marina Carpet's product and installation. I choose the vinyl simulated wood finish flooring (comes in a large role) for my basement room. Its thick with 5mm of cushioning that makes it feel very comfortable to walk on, even with bare feet. The precision work of Marina's installer was amazing. Somehow he cut the end of this huge role, to accommodate a 5 leg 10 foot bench that is built into the wall with cabinetry. It has 5 narrow legs from front to back that are 1"x by 16" wide built on top of old flooring, I was sure I would need six pieces of molding. I was referred by a family member who used this company 15+ years ago for multiple homes. I was under the impression I would be dealing with professionalism and expert knowledge but I couldn't have been more wrong. October 2025 had my house fully redone with a brand new floor. The crew that was brought in damaged my furniture (that no one owned up to), left cement stains on the new floor and rushed through the job. The cuts were uneven, the process of the replacement of the moldings shaved lines into my walls, the floor folds up in numerous places, it wasn't properly lined up to the walls and/or kitchen island causing gaps. It was over all a very poor and disappointing job for the amount of money that was spent. We reached out to Mike following the damage of the furniture and the concerns. No compensation or offer was made of fixing the damages. Mike sent the same crew back to claim to fix the issues but they instead looked around and said they need a "different tool" this was the beginning of the excuses to avoid any work that he would not be getting paid for. It has been now a whole calendar year and the issues have still not been resolved. Mike himself has come to my house twice to "asses" and take photos and make false promises. He stated how disappointed he was in the job but yet has not made any effort to fix it. He finally said over the summer he was sending someone to fix it. I took the day off work waited around and was told when the worker showed up he was only here to "map out what he needs". We have been mislead time and time again. There were even more appointments and scheduled dates that we were told it would be fixed and we were given excuses of personal matters that truly are not a customers business. Example ( my step son got a DUI, two times a family member was in the hospital). This is not how you run a business. For the final time last week we were promised a date to finally have the worker come to do the rip up and put down a new floor within the following few days. One hour prior to the appt were told by the worker none of his additional workers showed up and told by Mike that a family member was in the hospital and no one can open the store. We have received the run around for a year now. Living with floors that were improperly placed which in addition now are discoloring in two places. If you planned to use this company I am warning you to look elsewhere because you will be the next person to be paying thousands for lazy unprofessional work. read more

Let's just say out of years of doing good business getting quality work at a fair price in the end we were treated very poorly insulted and treated as if we were disposable I went from thinking that this was a great place to spend my money and I quickly realize with the attitude and the lack of Appreciation from the Owner they no longer deserve a penny from me and will never see me again. read more

Shopping around for new bedroom carpeting. Went to Montawk carpeting and the salesmen spent about 5 minutes of his time so I left. Decided to check Marina Carpet East Northport. Neil was great! Huge selection of quality carpets. No problem bringing many sample boards home to help me finalize my choice. As promised Mike came over to measure ( in the time frame that we were told ) Mike, Neil, and Deb provide awesome customer service. Today the carpets were installed and could not be happier. The management claims he is not responsible for his worker who was sent to my house to stretch the carport in my apartment He is one of his employees that lay the carpet. I was supposed to have someone named Neil who spent a lot of time measuring the carpet and when the time he sent someone who was literally to my house for10 minutes, He did absolutely nothing and charged me $175 cash. The carpet still has bumps in it. My fiancée and I recently replaced our family room floor (approximately a 500 ft square space). We agonized over floor types, manufacturers, and installation companies. Marina Carpet made the process easy. They helped us navigate the advantages and disadvantages of each material, provided a stress free sales process, and a professional installation under challenging circumstances. Marina Carpet has an unparalleled selection of hardwood and vinyl flooring. We explained our requirements (we wanted something that looked like hardwood, would stand up to pets, and could be glued down to the subfloor). Mike and Neil explained that luxury vinyl tile would provide the combination of look and durability that we needed. They answered all of our questions, allowed us to take a number of samples home to compare colors, and were patient throughout the process. We chose to glue down the floor, so we had to wait a bit for the installation. Marina Carpet wanted to make sure that the right person was available to install it. We were impressed The installation itself was short in duration and professionally done. The floor looks great! We had an issue with a hole that was accidentally made in the wall while removing moulding and an issue with the moulding that was ordered. Marina Carpet could not have been nicer or more willing to resolve any and all concerns. Mike immediately took responsibility and had the installer return. Our installer was equally accommodating and went above and beyond to make sure we were thrilled with our new purchase. We have received countless compliments on the floor since it was installed. People think it is actual hardwood, including other contractors that we have had come to our house to do additional work. Marina Carpet is not the cheapest, however this is a company we really can trust to do the right thing. Overall, we couldn't be happier and we highly recommend them. read more

Where to begin! Awful just awful, they lie, they cut carpet incorrectly, they lie again, they dont follow up! If they are a few $$ cheaper than others in the area there is a reason, they do not provide you with anything even satisfactory! Mike the owner NEVER returns calls, promises and doesnt deliver on said promises. Neil the salesman is rude,not to mention pushy. He tells you anything you want at time of sale . In April of 2019 I decided to replace the carpet going up my stairs into my upstairs hallway. I was going to use Home Depot as I have a few times in the past, but I thought maybe I would get better service from a smaller business and I wanted to support a local business so I went to Marina. Big mistake! Initially the service was good and the price was reasonable, but then came the installation. The installer showed up and immediately started complaining that he wasn't told that this was a stair job, he was getting old and didn't feel like doing it. He called Mike, the owner of Marina an a-hole for not telling him. He asked me if I wanted the insides of my closets done and said if I did I needed to clean them out because "I'm not your bitch". I should have thrown him out and called Marina but I took a day off work to get this done and I needed it completed. He ended up calling some other people to help. In the end, they did an OK job. But there are gaps in the padding that are obvious and you can clearly see where they slit the carpet to go around the railing. This was not visible at all with my old carpet. I went to Marina to talk to the owner about my dissatisfaction. He apologized for the installer and said he would come down and take a look. After failing to show once he did show up. He said he would be able to make it better but it may not be 100% perfect. I told him to see what he could do. He asked me to allow a few weeks for the carpet to come in. Long story short, I never heard back. I called to follow up and spoke to his sister. She also told me to give it a few more weeks. Then the COVID shutdown came. When things opened up I called Mike to see what was going on. I left three messages and he has not called back. I guess I am stuck with the carpet being as it is. I will never use Marina again and I urge everyone else not to. Home Depot would have addressed my concerns and made it right. I never had problems with their carpet installation in the past. So much for helping a neighborhood business. read more

I went to Marina Carpet because they carried the brand I wanted, they were close to home & they had competitive prices. I ordered two bound area rugs and was told they would be ready in about two weeks. Two weeks later I picked up the carpets. I got the rugs home, moved furniture and rolled them out only to discover that one was not the carpet I ordered. I called Mike that same day and was told he was out but would call me first thing the next morning. That didn't happen so I went into the store during my lunch hour. Mike confirmed it was the wrong carpet and said he would place another order that should arrive within two weeks. Two weeks went by and no phone call. So I called and was told it was 'back ordered' and to expect it in another week or two. Was it really back ordered or did they forget to reorder it? After almost two months I finally got the right carpet. If I wasn't proactive in making phone calls, I'd still be waiting. The customer service wasn't great and they could have done a better job of staying on top of this given the situation. I gave them two stars rather than one for sending an employee over to deliver the new carpet and take away the wrong one. At least that saved me from asking my friend to meet me at the store with her truck a second time to pick up the carpet. I wouldn't buy from them again and wouldn't recommend them to others. read more

Do not buy carpet from Marina- they have the absolute WORST costumer service imaginable! We are repeat customers, having used them to carpet our entire basement, 2 bedrooms and master bedroom suite w 3 closets. We had no problems w the first 3 carpets purchased but the most expensive carpet- the master bedroom- started pulling the very first day it was installed. By the second week, the carpet had over 20 pulls in it! I called and they contacted the manufacturer to put a claim in. A week after the manufacturer inspected it, I received A LETTER from Marina informing me that the manufacturer found nothing wrong w the carpet and the matter is closed. I cannot believe they didn't even feel a phone call was in order and I can't believe that after I spent thousands of dollars in their store, they feel no responsibility!!! I'm now stuck w a very expensive carpet in my bedroom that looks worse than the old one that we ripped up! What a waste of money! Do not buy here, they do not stand behind their products. I would like to thank Mike K and Marina Carpet for their over the top customer service. We recently purchased wall to wall carpeting for our new home. Pricing was reasonable and installation was fast. However, we had a problem. Due to the type of carpeting that we ordered and a minor mistake the installer made, we were unhappy with one seam. Actually Mike was more upset than we were. He expects perfection and 100% customer satisfaction. His response was to have us pick out new carpet and rip out the old one. The service at Marina started great, but after my measurement was complete I did not hear from Marina Carpet for about 3 weeks despite numerous phone calls and visits to the store. Upon finally speaking with Mike the owner, it turns out the carpet we wanted was back ordered passed the date we needed it installed. Had he done his job earlier the carpet might have been reserved. After purchasing carpet elsewhere I asked Marina Carpet if they would install it. They had one of their installers Tom, come to my house and install the carpet. As a person with construction background, this was the worst installation I have ever seen. Carpet not tucked anywhere and cut too short in multiple places which the installer tried to hide by inserting small pieces. After calling Mike he told me the problem was between me and the installer, the installer has yet to come back to fix the problem and I doubt ever will. DO NOT use this company, terrible experience. read more

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE dealing with owner's son, Mike. First I get a last minute phone call that the rug I ordered for delivery the next day was defective and to pick out an alternate carpet. Then, the alternate carpet is installed and found to be even more defective as upon vaccuming countless rug pile came undone (tufting defective). Then I was promised a replacement carpet within 2 weeks. (causing more hours of lost wages in order to empty out the room again). After waiting SIX WEEKS and many UNRETURNED PHONE CALLS later, replacement carpet #2 is scheduled to be installed. Once again, the day before installation, I am told to come down just to make sure its the "right" carpet. Couldn't make it in on such short notice. Delivery comes next morning and workers immediately start to rip up the old carpet. I go out to the truck only to discover IT'S THE WRONG CARPET. Now I am told my Mike that I will have to wait until next week to get another carpet. (causing more time off from work and my house totally cover with furniture and china, etc. from all the items that had to be moved out). Mike didn't seem to care how upset I was or that I had a major event going on at my house the next day, as he was YELLING at me on the phone that it's "JUST A RUG AND NOT CANCER. This place gets a MINUS 5 stars from me. read more
