At the time the owner showed me san marzano tomatoes they use and told me how he learned pizza making in longisland. today was not the same pizza. we were the only 2 in the place and asked for our slices well done. they came out warm. slices were not even heated up to re-melt the cheese. my wife could not eat her slice. it looked like black mold in the cheese. it had a gray tone. From the other yelp reviews, maybe this needs to come to the owner/management attention. Look, We are willing to wait 35-40 minutes for takeout. We are willing to wait 45min-1hr 30 for delivery. Because guess what, your menu is great your food is amazing. It is worth the wait. STOP TELLING PEOPLE these unobtainable wait times. They are inaccurate and keep people expecting food that is no where near arrival time. You guys gave a 20minute wait.. WHY?! and arrived in 1 hour and 10 minutes. Not even close! I love the pizza here. It's my favorite place for pizza delivery. We almost always get the large with half veggie and half pepperoni and bell peppers. I have tried their supreme and that is delicious as well. They also serve pastas, but I'd rather have the pizza. My sister seems to like the Alfredo from there. i originally wrote a long review, that included talk of the owner, Sal, who actually ran a pizza place in Brooklyn before moving here... but really, its not necessary. all that matters is this is NY pizza that is WELL above average for Texas. He uses Grande beand cheese (which is considered the nest processed pizza cheese), a tasty sauce that's not too pungent (many texas places have awful, overpowering, sauce), and they really know how to make ny thin crust. i used to only buy whole pies, and he would cook it exactly the way i like them. but as of recent, i like their $6 lunch special. 1 slice of any kind, salad and drink. i used to think, ONE SLICE ? i need at least 2. but they cut the slice pies into 6 slices, not the usual 8, and he's so generous with cheese and toppings, it really is enough. plus, the lunch special salad is amazingly large, really, much larger than what you get at a typical add-on salad at an Italian restaurant. Absolutely worst customer service ever. Have no idea what the food tastes like because it never came out! I came here for dinner and ordered a slice of pizza. ONE SLICE OF PIZZA. ONE. We just ordered the Meat Combo Pizza, the White Pizza (I had them add fresh basil to it), and garlic knots. The meat pizza is loaded with assorted meats and is very flavorful. The White Pizza is in a field of its own. It has no marinara sauce and much richer than a normal pizza. However, if you love garlic and ricotta cheese, you will love this pizza! The garlic knots almost have too much garlic, but are still yummy. We will definitely be back! Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service and their pizza dough is tainted with FUMES from the new remodel! If you love food like I do or keeping your body healthy, I'd stay away! They don't have the best food handling you'd want from a restraunt. If you have any issues or voice your opinion they harass you endlessly...as u can see by the comment left. It's ok we all know people usually get defensive when you threaten their livelihood. My hubbie and I ate here at the end of October and it was sooooooooo good, WOW! Needless to say our ENTIRE meal of Stromboli and garlic knots wreaked of polyurethane or something like that....as did the entire building where our food was being prepped and cooked....we had to wait outside with the owner's wife and baby for our food to be prepared due to the immense amount of fumes! We DID NOT EAT dinner that night! When we arrived home and ate a much needed garlic knot, it was spat right back out immediately! It tasted like straight fumes. We called them IMMEDIATELY and let them know. They told us to come back the next night and they'd replace it...cool, no worries. NOT TWO WEEKS! So we went...just this ONE TIME, that's it, not multiple times as the business claims....WOW! Little did we know they would attempt to serve us burnt, cold garlic knots and a skimpy half version of our previous nights Stromboli. It was pathetic! We asked them what's up with the Stromboli and the guy at the counter argued with us saying that's not what we ordered the previous night...even though I have pictures! We just ate and left. So, my hubbie called the next day to talk to an owner/manager and they said he'd have to call my husband back because they're busy. Again no worries. I WAITED JUST OVER A WEEK BEFORE CALLING THEM BACK PERSONALLY, BECAUSE THEY CAN'T CALL ANYONE AS PROMISED! So that's why they are trying to claim we waited 2 weeks...jeeze! It's been OVER a week since then as of today so I finally stepped in and called them myself. I asked for an owner...or at least he claimed to be! He argued with me endlessly even though I kept requesting an email or something, so that I may show him the pictures that I've taken of what we were served. He didn't care in the least bit and kept saying, "Well what do you want me to do....and you waited two weeks to call me"...ummmm seriously...you didn't call US back!....WOW! We drove over 20 minutes one way to get there and then back home on BOTH days and this is how he treats what few customers he had I there...that HE personally served inedible food to....because according to him, he made the food himself...and again argued with me even though I have pictures. We even gave him a chance to redeem himself...twice. He was trying to tell me we ordered different things....ummmm I have evidence jerk, it was the EXACT same order just a different quality! He continued to yell at me and kept talking over me....the OWNER! He stated that didn't care if I wrote a Yelp review or called the health dept, nor could I get a name out of him....OMGoodness! Now I'm being harassed and told that this incident never happened....riiiiight! I think my husband and I both are in shock at their blatant, belligerent attitude vs ACTUALLY FIXING THE SITUATION! I know the difference between a Calzone and Stromboli, thanks! How many others that day actually ATE the tainted, inedible food that could make us very ill...that's so scary! Marinara's Pizza just knocked my other favorite pizza joint in Plano out of first place. I never thought that would happen! This place is amazing. The pizza is the star in my opinion, although I have had other dishes there also and they are equally worth every penny. I love that the pizza is New York style with a delicious crust. All the ingredients are fresh and if you like italian sausage on your pizza, it is shaved strips that are the bomb. Where else can you purchase a huge 18" pizza (think "Friends") for less than 20 bucks?? Especially one that is not skimpy on the toppings. This review is for a take out order. Felt like a pizza and tired of the usual chain pizza so decided to try somewhere different. Glad I did! I placed an order online through their website. It was easy to find what I wanted and was impressed by their selections. 5 sauces, 32 toppings, and 8 different cheeses to go on the 14 or 18 inch, Sicilian, or 14 inch gluten free pizza. I went with an 18 inch because...well, I was hungry! And it's great to have left over pizza for another meal. I substituted a few items from their Supreme pizza. Delivery was quick and friendly, the tip was already included so the driver didn't hang around waiting to be tipped. It arrived and that thing was massive! Where not a huge fan of the NY style, this was impressive. Lots of topping and they were cut perfectly. The bell pepper was small enough that it was properly cooked and big slices of ham gave it a meaty bite. The only thing that was a downer was that there could have been a bit more cheese. The marinara is pretty strong and it was hard to taste any cheese through it so you may consider getting extra if you like a really cheesy pizza. Looking at the menu they also have apps, breads, calzones, subs and cheese streaks, and pasta. I wouldn't mind trying to some other stuff if I had a chance. Ahhhhhh the smells when you walk in....if you come hungry your stomach will growl as soon as the delicious scents hit your nose. They have a great variety of toppings for pizzas. Pasta looked awesome, but I wanted pizza. They have kalamata olives which automatically makes this a place for me. Try the garlic knots too! Went for dinner one Saturday evening, and must say we really like this place. We ordered two pizzas- two different styles. One was thin crust- round, the other a bit thicker and rectangular (Grandmas? I think was the name of it). We loved them both, and for three of us, had enough to make another meal on Sunday evening. We also had side salads- which are really good- fresh, crisp and the balsamic vinaigrette was super tasty. We had some bread knots with the salad- yum! After dinner we all had cannolis. They were delicious. If I had one suggestion, it would be to order your cannolis with dinner and ask them to set them out so the filling can warm up a bit. Having it right from the fridge it was quite cold, and probably did not have as much flavor for this reason. I'm not faulting the restaurant, the filling needs to be stored cold, and how would they know if we were going to order these? Our server was outstanding, and I hope he stays there as we enjoyed his service. The owner Sal came out and spoke to us too, he is a super nice guy. Like another reviewer said, hes not a Texan, so dont expect "Howdy Folks" when you walk in. He is also busy in the kitchen. But he did take time to come out and offer some olive oil for our pizza, and thank us for our patronage. Also, it came with a HUGE plate of garlic knots that were very nice, and the owner threw in a cannoli for each of us for dessert, since it was our first visit. Also, the owner and his employee were very nice. The dining room was kinda lacking in the ambiance department, but I really didn't care. I was too busy shoveling cheesy goodness into my face. My only other tiny little complaint would be that they use canned mushrooms, but I've noticed that a lot of places do so maybe I care about that more than other people.
