Absolute disaster, bought a brand new Silverado from them a couple months ago. It's my first "new" purchase. Sold my older vehicle due to chronic AC issues and reliability. I bought a brand new 2026 mid trim level package. The salesmen and most the immediate staff were actually terrific. But fast forward a couple days I notice quality defects in the structure of the cabin. No big deal, they said they'd cover it. Still holding a great attitude. Takes them weeks to get me in and when they do service the truck the defect remained. I had to rebook an appointment and wait. During the wait, the AC went out a week after driving it home. Still the staff worked with me and I harnessed my frustration but upon fixing the AC they gave me back the truck with tears in the headliner and additional structural defects. Okay fast forward a couple weeks of fixes and common administrative headaches, I got a check engine light, glitches in my display, and the microphone went out for calls and OnStar. I've visited the dealer 10+ times within a month. It's been an awful experience and waste of time. To wrap this up, I took these issues to upper management at the dealer and GM to discuss potential lemon law criteria, or options to get any sort of value back. Given this is all covered under warranty with new vehicles the loss of faith in Chevy, embarrassment and regret of purchasing from this dealer remained. After voicing my concerns managment made arrangements and benefits to compensate for the ridiculous experience. Initially both managers attempted to dilute and redirect my concerns and offer the bare minimum. Upon coming to a gentleman's agreement of an extended warranty they made false promises and dropped all agreed fixes weeks later and resulted in offering rewards points like some coffee shop. All the while giving retaliative condescending attitudes like I owe them something. I get a dealer doesn't really take responsibility for how a truck comes off the delivery but man, avoid top leadership here. Just go to Willmington and save the games. Or Toyota. read more

**Let me start by saying this has been the WORST car buying experience of my life. From start to finish, this dealership has been nothing but lies, runarounds, and unprofessional nonsense. Salesman Kevin told me my numbers 'looked good' -- meanwhile, EIGHT hard inquiries hit my credit report like I wasn't gonna check. Shady, dishonest, and unacceptable. So now y'all lying AND avoiding responsibility. I spoke to Manager Stephen, who swore he'd talk to his GM and call me back. Nothing but crickets since. THEN Hugo gets on the phone trying to cover for Kevin, being rude, dismissive, and flat out nasty. Little does Hugo know -- I recorded that entire conversation. The unprofessionalism was beyond anything I've ever experienced at a business. To make matters worse, Kevin tells me to book a service appointment for the paint. I show up, waste my time and gas, just for them to tell me 'there's nothing we can do.' So now you're playing with my money, time, AND patience. This dealership is straight-up ROTTEN. Terrible customer service, no accountability, and no respect for the people spending their hard-earned money here. ZERO stars if I could. And best believe, I'll be filing formal complaints with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and the Attorney General's office. I have the recordings and the paperwork to back up every word of this. I had a great experience buying from Marine Chevrolet in March '25. I was a first time car buyer and looked all around the US for the right price for a 2020 Honda Accord Hybrid. I worked with Gabby and Kevin. Gabby was very helpful and transparent with pricing and photos of the car. I felt like they were very honest and clear and weren't trying to screw me over like most other dealerships. Once we agreed on a price, they put it on hold for me (3-5 days I think) on the contingent that I sent them a copy of my flight receipt as I was buying from out of state. Flew into Raleigh and they sent someone from the dealership to come pick us up, which was a 2 hour drive. Driver was awesome and told us some cool stories from his deployment in the military overseas during his career. Upon getting to the dealership, everyone was super excited for me to get there and knew me by first name. Car was ready and we signed and paid all cash up front and the process took not even 15 minutes. I had spent months looking for the right deal and happy it worked out with Marine Chevy. I have been having an issue with my car, since I purchased it, brand new, almost 3 years ago. It's supposedly "railroad dust"-that is spreading and getting worse. I have had my car worked on 4 or 5 times without success. They even sent it out 2x for repair. I have called and gone in asking where I am on the list. Once I was #1 but no call after a couple of weeks, I went in and asked what's going on. They said most of their loaners are EV vehicles and my car will take longer than a day. Then, a woman-rudely- said to me, well we have people needing their transmission repaired. I decided, okay this may be a bit. I have been on a waiting list for over six months My patience in waiting was gone, so I've been calling trying to reach the service manager, Kenny. He's not returning my calls. I've left messages, with the service dept. They're not returning my calls. My next step is the GM. I will definitely be contacting the Better Business Bureau to make a complaint. My suggestion to anyone who wants a car, never do business with Marine Chevy. The dealers may be nice and some may even try to give you an honest deal, but the service department ruins it for this business. I'm sure if you were to research all the reviews that are out there for Marine Chevy, a vast majority would be poor-and 99% of them would be because of the service department. It's a shame because there are employees that really do try to help, but get lumped in because of the management/higher ups. read more

After a recent unfortunate experience with a dealer buying a car I remembered my husband and I's great experience with Marine Chevrolet three years back and thought I'd share our experience. Back in April 2020 my husband and I purchased a pre owned vehicle and had no complains at all we walked in with a clear budget and no major specifics and were able to leave in a great pre owned car that marked all our boxes. Everyone there from our salesman to the receptionist were polite, helpful and got us on our way super quickly.They were super transparent with everything throughout our process, they weren't pushy to get a bigger sale and very efficient! The worst customer service EVER which is sad after visiting this place 12 years later. We tried to give them the benefit of the doubt being it had been years since we lived here after moving back. Nope but nothing has changed. We are chevy family and wanted to take one of our vehicles for a oil change. After about 15 minutes of waiting to be helped in the service department I left. No one came to see what I needed. We also were looking to do a trade-in for new vehicle in the sales department. Didn't even want to touch it. I'm not taking a bad deal from them. I recently had work done January 29th of 2024. We had a multi point expectation done on my vehicle. Told us there was an oil leak which I've never witnessed oil stains on my carport ever. Just bought the vehicle in fall of 2023. Told us the horn was out and needed to install a new one. Anyway worked took about 3 days so I was out of a vehicle for a few days. Claimed they changed the oil and changed out the filters. Price for everything totaled over $2000 while I was there I dropped off my power trained warranty information, was told they would take care of it with my warranty company. It's March now and my first complaint was the horn sounds like crap like it was poorly installed... vibrates the whole front end of my vehicle when you use it. Secondly the oil was never changed, they say it was but just didn't put the sticker in the windshield. But my car is now reading low on oil. I called my warranty provider to see if they ever took care of some of those changes and said Marine Chevrolet never contacted them at all! And now that it's passed my 30 days of getting the policy to cover some of the expense they will no longer cover the work that was done. I'm upset because I feel like we weren't only ripped off we were taken advantage of. Labor alone was over $1000 and they didn't even TRY to get ahold of my warranty I paid thousands for to help me with these kind of issues. I put brand new tires all around in January as well and they wanted to sell me tires lmao. Nothing was wrong with my vehicle before I took it to them. It was like they made stuff up so they can make money. $2000 for a horn and an oil seal is a little steep. To me it seemed like they just flat out wanted the money for themselves. We will never do business with them again. They take advantage of good people, I recommend you please take your money elsewhere. If I could give them zero stars I would! The worst customer service I have ever experienced. I went in on Monday for an oil change, tire rotation and a few little routine maintenance items. Allison was great highly recommend. Fast forward to today. After Monday I sped my car up to above 55mph and my steering wheel began to shake like crazy. I bought tires a month ago got them balanced and taken care of and didn't have any issue but after Monday this is an issue. Not only did they try to charge me 264 dollars for a tire balancing JR Suárez started to raise his voice and yell when I simply asked the question as to why I'm being charged for something they caused and I said it was shady. He tried to apologize for yelling but said don't question his integrity. At that point I said let me just pay so I can move on with my day and he took my keys and paperwork and put them out of my reach and said no I'm not gonna let you leave with a sour taste in your mouth like he's trying to hold me hostage or something. Finally someone I assumed was a manager came over and lowered the price to 48.07 so I paid. As I'm leaving JR Suárez followed me out trying to put the blame on a tire company instead of the fact that my car drove smooth for a month until they did what they did on Monday smh... Extremely unprofessional and have lost my business. The annoying part is he kept trying to say we take care of our military when he clearly doesn't. Now over two months later I do not have the car and have paid two payments plus insurance. The GM and Owner will not even respond to my emails! My cars oil change was done here, and the mechanic over tightened the bolt that draines the oil. As someone that knows how to work on cars that's common sense not to over tighten an bolt on a vehicle. It's taken multiple people to untighten it and no one can. I've even tried just takin the whole pan off. I only allowed them to do my oil change because I needed my tires rotated and didn't have enough jacks. Never again. If your a car girl or guy change your on oil it's cheaper and easy and you don't have to wait on mechanics that don't follow the basic thing they learn in school about cars and over tighten bolts. I had a scheduled vehicle service (oil change and tire rotation). Approximately 45 minutes after checking in, multiple services were recommended, but I accepted only a brake-line flush. Approximately 1 hour later, I departed with my vehicle. Immediately, there was the smell of burning oil. Shortly thereafter, the engine compartment began smoking and smoke was being directed through the passenger cabin vents. I returned to Marine Chevrolet. Once the vehicle was taken back, I was informed that the technician completing the oil change tightened the oil filter so much that the filter cracked, causing oil to leak. The oil filter was replaced free of charge. 5 days later my vehicle still smells of burned oil but there is no smoking. I will have to think on returning to Marine Chevrolet for future vehicle servicing needs. Updated 1 Nov 18 - Since this review our experience with Marine Chevrolet has been nothing but horrible. We've had one other botched oil change (this time the rubber gasket on the filter got misaligned and caused oil to leak and burn), a brake job that has left our car with a loud scraping sound when the brakes are applied, a twice replaced water pump that still seems to be leaking coolant, and an engine replacement (during which I was very strongly pressured to buy a new car instead of having our current car repaired. I'll never buy another Chevrolet and I'll definitely never go to Marine Chevrolet. read more

Hands down the worst experience I've had an any dealership. I had been warned by friends Marine Chevy Service Department is crooked and just looking to get paid, but I can now say I've seen it first hand. I brought my car in to follow up on past repairs, because the original problem had never been fixed. The issue was originally "fixed" under warranty but soon after "repairs" the same issues arose. So I took the car back (now no longer under warranty) figuring they would have a warranty for their work done. I even went so far as to ask my service rep if it would be taken care of if it happens to be the same problem to which she assured me they "absolutely" would. Well all of that was a lie. They wanted me to pay $2,000 to just diagnose what the issue was. When I brought up the supposed past repairs they told me they "don't count" for any of it because all they did was refill fluids and some other minor work. Which was news to me because that was absolutely NOT what I was told was fine under warranty. Additionally the service representative was almost impossible to get ahold of, one time taking a full business day to even return my call. I finally decided to just pickup the vehicle and take it elsewhere. Upon arriving I was told the car was parked off in their back lot. I spent 15 min looking for the vehicle before realizing it was actually right up front. When I got in the car I found all of our personal belongings scattered all over the car. They went through every compartment in the car and moved/ tossed things around the car. By far the most unprofessional and crooked dealership in eastern NC. I would under no circumstances ever recommend this dealership or revisit again. read more

In March put my order on for a 2121 Corvette from Marine Chevy. The salesman told me I had to put at least $2000.00 down which I did. Sat with him and built my car. He placed the order and I made a list. Went back a couple of months and was told because of COVID, the production line had been slowed down and now I was looking at an 2022 model. Awesome, and today received call telling me that the owner of the dealership will No longer be able to honor his his commitment. He has decided that only the dealership will order corvettes, Escalades, Tahoe's and another popular trucks. However, I can wait and purchase a corvette from them at dealership price which normally run $30 to $40,000 more. Unbelievably, waited almost a year and now this. This place is terrible, I bought my tires here for $1,200 (huge mistake) I have a 40,000 mile warranty on my tires I've driven them about 15k the back left tire started going flat so I took the vehicle back here and they looked at the tire said there wasn't anything wrong with it and filled it back with air and said the warranty doesn't cover punctures and then they said "next available time we can look at you're tire is 2 weeks" how is anyone supposed to go to work on a flat nor did they offer a vehicle for me to use in the meantime, well sure enough next morning the tire is flat, I went to tire country the guy there tested it and saw it was leaking from the side wall and I had to buy a new tire. I bought a Colorado here based on price, my buddy bought a Colorado at Stephenson based on service... I've already spent way more on "service" at Marine Chevy than my buddy paid upfront at Stephenson. Don't be fooled by seemingly lower prices here- their dealership is a disaster. Also beware of unsafe COVID practices if you go in in the near future. Here's an example from my last visit: I went in at 2:20 for oil change, tire rotation, tire patch, and nitrogen in my tires... 1) They "moved the tire machine" 1/2 way through my service and tacked on hours to my visit. 2) They made my tire leak worse. 3) They closed down their maintenance department while filling my tires for some reason, turning off the compressor and tacking on another few hours before someone came in to turn it back on. 4) Charged me for parts we never discussed. 5) Upsold me on some tire maintenance package and then charged me for the failed patch anyways (even though that's why I agreed to the package). 6) Suggested I drive down the road with my tires at 9psi (after they deflated them) to a different shop. 7) Up front everyone is all gloves and antiseptic but in back absolutely no one in or around my truck had on gloves etc. 8) Never even put nitrogen in my spare and left all 4 tires at least 5 PSI off from each other. I spoke to the service reps there (who were very polite but didn't have the authority to fix any of the problems or charges) then I called to try to rectify the problems but got blown off. 4 hours and $260 later, my truck is worse than when I went in. Service department is worthless, continuously takes short cuts until warranties expire. Skipped mounting hardware in third dash pad replacement. Clear pictures available. Would only do diagnostic of failed system if I agreed to a 140.00 diagnostic fee on a Cadillac with 51000 miles when reported, (park assist system failed while waiting on dash pad parts before 50000 miles). Poor workmanship in every aspect. It took an email to Cadillac customer service just to get a speaker replaced within the first 20000 miles. read more

I'd proceed with caution when working with this dealership. My first experience with them was when they were running a promotion to test drive a Chevy that you'd get a free $50 gift card. After the test drive, no gift card was given. When I persisted they gave me the run around. After about 30 minutes of persistence the sales manager finally reached in his drawer and handed me the gift card. Second experience, I finally decided I was gonna purchase a car. I sat down to discuss the price, and they sent my credit application to multiple lenders. Negotiations fell through, and I found out that they had ran my credit an additional time with one of the same lenders. When I called the dealership, they tried to lie to me. I responded that I was interested but didn't want an offer greatly below the value of the vehicle and what I was selling it for. They said they understood and were very interested in the purchase. The vehicle books today for $38,000 retail and $35,200 for a clean trade in value. They offered me just over $29,000!!! Sellers beware! I've had offers from other dealers in the same area for a couple thousand dollars better than that. Complete waste of my time. Seems I just have bad luck on all service from Marine Chevy or my expectations are just way too high for a certified dealership, because my truck has been in the shop just too many times and too many days since I purchased it just a few months ago... Seems the 300 years experience and certified technicians Marine Chevy boast about is all just smoke and mirrors as they cannot even handle an oil change without screwing it up... I had Mirrors installed that took 3 visits and three weeks to get it right, had Tool Boxes installed that took multiple visits and had to be reinstalled causing multiple holes in my truck bed to get it right, had a simple Oil Change where I was over charged technician forgot to replace my oil cap and made a mess under my hood, had a known issue with the Diesel Exhaust Tank Heater that also took 3 visits where they hunted and pecked for a resolution returning the truck to me as repaired 3 times, only for me to have the same issue and bring it back ...then while they had it for 10 days in the shop they chipped my windshield... You may wonder why I keep going back as I am so dissatisfied, because I have a warranty and 2 years free maintenance. Because my maintenance is free and they are not getting any money they might be giving my $60k truck to the new guy to work on instead of the 300 year certified technician .. I might be getting the apprentice doing his GM internship unsupervised to work on my truck .. that would explain a bunch ...like multiple visits for the same issue .... I have a Chevrolet, Case Number 8-2535549462 from Chevy Support cac@chevrolet.com and am hoping for some help from higher headquarters as Marine Chevy has offered nothing for the inconvenience of having my truck in their shop almost as many days a month as I have had the pleasure of using it ... I have had weekends where I was supposed to be camping with my trailer but did not have my truck to pull it, have had to delay vacations because my truck was in the shop, wife and I had to take time off work to drop off and pickup truck... I have sent many emails to the service department manager but have only received a few back with half an answer, have been promised call backs that did not happen from staff, had a call back once where I was asked a question but my answer was never relayed back to the technician causing improper install on tool boxes ... I have a stack of invoices that state 'Customer Request a Multi Point Inspection' but have not received a copy of the said inspection so I do not know the outcome ... Please assist if you can Jim, as I have been dealing with Ms Tasker and her staff ... One in person in particular that was very helpful was Philip, he seemed to actually care and offered as much help as he could within his power ...He was awesome but I am told he no longer works there ... Also Chris Fountain was very helpful and Evelyn who also did everything they possibly could... On a positive note this truck is awesome and I love it ... It is the 4th vehicle I purchased from Marine Chevy and their sales staff has always treated me good ... Tyler and Fred were great on the sales side ... Only issue I keep having is with service and from talking with my long time friend Mr. Hoops I am not alone... I found a good deal on a nice Audi with low miles, I'd recently purchased a Genesis from New Bern so I assumed that everything would be pretty much the same. I singed all docs without reading them thoroughly which was my norm having most of the information explained buy the sales rep. After a smooth transaction with Genesis I expected nothing less from these people. I left believing I had made a good deal with good people. I'm waiting for the DMV papers so I can drive without worrying, I was aware that I needed to get NC license and had an appointment for 8/27 believing that it was more than sufficient. I received the call from Genesis with the tags for the GV70 paid the taxes and received my registration. I'm waiting now for the tags for the Audi unaware that my DMV appointment wasn't enough. I called Ethan my sales rep who had no clue, he connected me the news that I had to physically possess the NC license to register the vehicle. I'm now more than upset probably overreacted a bit but still upset. Here's my issue I depened on them to point out the high lights in the contract instead of taking my time to read it in it's entirety and ask questions that would've avoided all this deep regret and frustration. Such a unsatisfying way to learn such a valuable lesson and I've only been in NC 2 months. I'm marking this as my most disappointing car purchase ever not because the car is shitty it's that I spent my hard earn money with such a shitty organization. I bought a 2016 Escalade from Marine and have had it now going on three months. The vehicle has a serious electrical problem that causes the following : - Traction control to turn on and off rapidly - Emergency brake to automatically activate - brake and gas pedal to raise and lower - randomly goes in and out of sport mode Most of these electrical problems are linked to the haptic buttons on either side of the navigation display. I do what any sane person would do, bring the vehicle to Marine Cadillac and tell them about the problem. So I spent 4 hours sitting around and waiting, and I finally ask what the deal is and they say "we can't get to your car today, we can give you a shuttle ride 24 miles home." Finally after seeing my unhappiness they give me a loaner car. So the next day I stop by to see what's up with my vehicle and they are like, "There's no error in the computer, so there's nothing we can do unless we see the problem ourselves". At this point I take my potential death trap back and continue to drive it. The electrical problem shows up on warmer days when I start the vehicle so I had my camera ready and caught it malfunctioning on video. On Monday 7/18/2016 I sent the video to Marine Cadillac's service manager (Janel Tasker). I call her and she says, "let me review the video with my senior tech and we will call Cadillac. We will call get a loaner car setup and call you tomorrow(Tuesday). " Today is now 7/21/2016. I have not gotten a call from Marine Cadillac and they have not returned a single one of my four calls. The thing that pisses me off the most is you get to hear a message when you call Marine Cadillac that says Time Magazine awarded the owner "Dealer of The Year". If you're so good, why can't I find a human to help solve my problem. So what do I do next, I'm driving around in a $90,000 lemon, and I can't get a call back.
