VERY BAD company!! They did the termite fumigation for my house 3 years ago. I called them to request an inspection before the 3 year warranty end, they question me and told me there is no need for that. I have another company to come for the inspection and they found some termite activities with an written report. Then I scheduled for a check up with them, I took my day off waiting for them but no show. I called them, no apology, no explaining for no show, went ahead to schedule another appointment with me. I took another day off waiting for them, NO SHOW again. I don't understand how can they run business like this. VERY NOT RESPONSIBLE!! DON'T USE THEIR SERVICE!! Add-on on 1/3/2017 After I gave them bad yelp review, they finally take it serious. They called me to ask what is the problem and tell me they are willing to make it up for a revised review. They schedule an inspection appointment with me and sent a technician to check up. Good experience this time. Hope they can take care all business like this at first place! read more

Sorry to report, my review has taken a drastic 180 degree turn. I clearly explained to the inspector (Kevin) in February that I'd be moving in June. I was assured my problem was minor and that a few spot treatments to the tune of $550 would address what was needed. While he gave me no promises, his assurance left me with confidence that four months down the road I'd be fine when it came to my section 1 review, which is needed before selling my house. Any guess where this is going? As of two weeks ago, Kevin suddenly felt my house needed tenting, and some other minor wood work (which it did). His quote to address the repairs and tent my house was laughed at by the termite company that eventually tented and did the wood repairs. Kevin & Mariners, shame on you for being less than honest with your initial assessment and your eventual bloated quote. From where I stand, this was a classic bait and switch, nicely done by you. Why would I have initially had you spot treat my house for $550, only to eventually tent my house? Your second inflated quote only confirmed my feelings on your questionable tactics. I got a quote from Terminix about a year ago and they had me believe my house was being eaten and on the verge of crumbling. They told me I needed to have it tented and the damage was so extensive I would need thousands of dollars worth of wood work. The final quote came out to $6000. I of course wanted a 2nd opinion. My neighbor used Mariners several months ago so I decided to give them a call. Tim came out and spent about an hour poking around and looking in the attic. After everything he told me that we had some minor damage and a couple spots. I had purchased the home 6y prior and had a termite inspection then, so it seemed unlikely that terminix was anywhere near correct. I of course signed off on the quote, which was about 25% of what i had been previously quoted. The next morning, they came out and got everything done on time. The tech was very polite. The most unbelievable thing is, the tech, whos name I forgot, EVEN SWEPT THE SIDE OF MY HOUSE!!!! At the end of the day, I would definitely use Mariners again and am very happy with their work!!! read more

I was very pleased by the time and thoroughness of the inspector, Kevin. He was quite knowledgable. Turns out that what I thought was sign of termites was due to a rat (a problem I had already solved). But he did find other conclusive signs -- including live termites! I've had termite work done in the past, so when I recognized his quote as fair, albeit not cheap, I went with it. The work involved a lot of spot treatments. I was the first appointment of the day, and the technician arrived on time. The technician was very good - I wish I remembered his name. They only allotted him four hours to do the work. This really wasn't enough time, and he was being rushed to finish as he wrapped up in hour number 5. The next day we had winged termites coming out of the woodwork. Kevin was good and came by late that day to check it out and provide additional treatment. I can't speak to how well they will honor the two year warranty, but I'm pleased with the initial treatment. read more

I have no account and no warranty, even though I have the check they cashed for a 3 year contract. Now they tell me they don[t have a three year contract so I must be crazy. They have been here four or five times and we still have termites. They finally sent someone out today and the guy ws not prepared to do any work. He had no equipment with him. ??? These guys ripped off my 84-year-old mother! She scheduled an inspection over two weeks in advance; they were supposed to show up between 9:00 A.M. and 12:00 P.M. - a little before 12:00 she called them because no one had showed up. They said someone would be there by 2:00. No one showed up so she called again after 2:00 P.M. and they said someone would be there by 4:00 P.M. - again no one showed up. She called again after 4:00 P.M. and they said someone would be there by 5:00 P.M. so she said forget it, she'll just cancel. They said, sorry you already paid by Amex when you scheduled the work and hung up. A few minutes later the guy who was supposed to do the inspection called and said he couldn't get there before 6:00 P.M, so she said don't bother I've already canceled. Needless to say, the charge is being disputed with Amex right now and they certainly will lose that, but how rotten is a business to try and rip off an elderly lady? Most people wouldn't have given them the 2nd or 3rd chance to show-up. This business is simply despicable! read more

What a joke! Mariners gave me a ridiculous quote to treat some minor spots. I could have had my whole house tented for less than their termite spot treatment price on a really small area. The quote started at $3k and went to $1500 as I had a 50% coupon. I balked, so it went down to $1250. Did some research and had two more inspections... had the job done for $375. So....THREE THOUSAND DOLLARS??? WHAT? They should be ashamed of themselves.These guys are total rip offs. BEWARE! Get three quotes before you go with anyone. And Yelp them all. PS. Pest control contractors should state in their business name that they are pest AND termite control licensed. These guys don't. BEWARE! Get educated! read more

Our inspector/consultant's name is Douglas. He is very professional, kind hearted and extremely respectful. Although my mother is very hard of hearing he took his time and made sure that my mother was able to understand every single detail and instruction for the process of repair and fumigation of our house. Douglas went above and beyond the parameters of superior customer service. It was certainly a pleasure working with him and I would definitely recommend him to all my friends and family. Juan and Nefi are excellent workers. Their work was very efficient and very professional. Great Marketing - Poor Service When I hired Mariners several years ago to provide termite service for my primary residence and a rental home, I was impressed by their attention to detail responsiveness and proactive nature. For the past several years I've had Mariner's under contract as the primary pest control service provider for my residence. Over the years, I've noticed a gradual decline in the quality of service and attentiveness provided by Mariners. My most recent experience included not removing droppings from areas that they treated, failing to inspect the crawl space at my residence, and completely missing a significant termite infestation in the garage. Anything that required the use of the ladder, a mirror or would get their clothes dirty was simply ignored. Caveat emptor. Mariners has the potential of being a great organization but their lackluster performance can result in significant property damage. read more

Mariners pest control was the third alternative to tenting company I contacted after being failed by my former Nix termite coverage who wanted to tent at full price after their orange junk didn't work. Douglas Hatfield came out from Mariners to estimate our house situation. He was very thorough in evaluating the termite locations and damage done. Douglas was by far the most knowledgeable inspectors we've seen and he marked locations and gave a highly detailed diagram of our infestations and damage to wood that needed repair. He knows construction which is very important since repairs go along with killing bugs. I was so impressed with his plan that I signed that same day even though I had scheduled Orrin the next day. When Orkin came I explained the plan Douglas made ... they said it was good so I knew I made the right decision going with Mariners. After five years of worry we are finally confident we found a reputable professional honest termite service. I can't be happier with Douglas and the repair crew Juan and Jose. They even found more damage not in the original estimate and fixed it with no additional charge. Like really ... who does that nowadays....Mariners Pest control. I contacted a few companies and I chose Mariners. Robert, the inspector and sales guy was straight forward and I felt I got a fair price. Since I shopped around I believe I did. They scheduled within 2 days to come back and do the work. That was good and quick. Nefi was the guy who did the work. Early, on time, polite, very attentive to wearing booties and covering the carpet. That's a plus for me when you can tell someone cares. The exterior work was very good, and I am pleased. Of course now it is up to mother nature to see if they come back, but the deal included a 2-yr free warranty...other companies charged for it. So all in all, very happy. The team that worked on our house were not only on time, but early within their time block. They lead guy was informative and patient as he walked the inside of the house with us before the fumigation started. When our 2 1/2 days was complete, they were again early within their time block. They left no sign that they had been there, leaving our home clean. We were aware that we would loose a few outside plants and had removed those that we wanted to save. But would have like to have known ahead that they needed to dig up some of our flagstone and pea-gravel. We could have taken photos and removed them ourselves as to save the mixing of dirt and gravel, along with having to re-work those stones that had been dug up. They return crew did try to put the flagstones back, but they had no idea where. Over-all a good experience and fair price for a service that no one wants to prepare for. read more

As a result of my previous review and their desire to provide better customer service, I received a call from Douglas explaining what caused them not to show up and offered a free service. As the rental unit is vacant and emphasis was placed on targeting the ant colonies outside the property, I was not present when they arrived for nor during the subsequent appointment. However, I can state that I have not seen the usual trail of ants in the garage, inside the house or outside on the patio during my trips to prep the property for rental. I chose Mariners to do treatment and repair of termite damage around my house. I felt Douglas was straight forward and honest. Even though they were more expensive I thought they would do the best job. Well I can't even express the extreme disappointment in using this company. They started the work right before Christmas 2021. It started raining and they said they had to stop. Also the truck wasn't working to do the spraying in the attic. When I called to see when they were coming back she said the earliest was after the new year! Are you serious! They left all the stuff on the patio and yard, and would not return for over 2 weeks? When I called Douglas he was extremely rude and didn't want to hear anything I had to say. I honestly think he works commission only, because after he got my contract he didn't care to talk to me again. When they did come back and said they were done with the work, I noticed they didn't paint over 75 percent of the boards on the deck. It took them over 2 months to finally finish the job, and a lot of bugging by me. Mind you it cost me 7300 dollars! I expect way better service. Stay away from this one. read more

I needed treatment for termite in my house (dry-wood termite and subterranean termite). I could not do tenting so I needed spot treatment. I got a couple different estimates but Mariners matched the best estimate I had received AND provided an amazing 2-year warranty on the entire house. Justin came to my house for an inspection and estimate. He was thorough and gave a great explanation of my options and the treatment they would do. On the day of work, Nefi came and he did a fantastic job. He explained what he would do and did a great job treating the bedroom and our garage and second floor attic. We had a small problem with rats but we weren't sure how small the problem was. George from Mariners showed up within an hour. He walked the perimeter and crawled around our attic. He advised us of what holes should be patched around the outside and was very upfront with what we needed to fix the problem. With his help- we were able to take care of the issue ourselves. With us not being familiar with the problem, someone could've taken advantage of us and George did not. We will call them in the future if we ever come across pest problems again. read more

Had inspection done and Fumigation done in 2016. Inspection and fumigation was all done professionally. 9 months later we had evidence of termites in the house. The fume company (a subcontractor) came out and said the "fume did not work" and had to redo the fumigation again in 1/2018 under warranty. Mariner's said this was "extremely unusual". 10 months later there was evidence of termites in the house. The owner came out and said he "never seen anything like this". 12/18 they did a local treatment in the attic. 11/19 found evidence of termites again in the house. Mariner's was contacted and we were told that that we were out of warranty. Story here, all factual, should speak for itself. read more
