I highly recommend Mariners Pest Control for Localized treatment of termite infestations and repair of termite damage and dry rot. I called Mariners after evaluating other localized treatment companies. My wife and I were dead set against tenting our house because of the trouble and inconvenience of abandoning the house while the treatment was done. We also had dry rot wood around the house that needed replacing. Doug Hatfield came out and did the inspection/estimate. He was very thorough in his inspection, and educated me on termite life-cycles and damage, as well as on the carpentry terminology for the different wood components on the house. he informed me that Mariners hires experienced carpenters and trains them to be exterminators so that as they are replacing the damaged wood, they can treat the infestation areas. The work was scheduled to take a week, but was completed in 4 long days. Nefi Mendez and his other tech did an incredible job of replacing the damaged wood and bring it back to as-new condition. They went above and beyond in taking care of areas that were not included in the original estimate, but needed replacement. Their workmanship quality is first rate! I was referred to Mariner's Pest Control by another company. I am so glad Mariner's was the company to assist us! Shawn, their supervisor, and his team were able to help one of my clients with a Termite Inspection. Shawn, responded to my voicemail quickly, and the entire office/company conducted themselves in a professional manner. From the start i could tell Shawn had been in the industry for a while.Typically, inspectors or supervisors are not so friendly, rather quick and a bit rude because they've been in the business for such a long time. I have to start off by saying that Mariner's earned their 5 stars from start to finish. They were prompt with calling us back for an appointment. We called them and Douglas answered our call for a free estimate. We weren't sure if our home would need tenting or if a local treatment would do the job. Within a few days of calling Douglas came by. He was thorough with the inspection and honest about what we would need done. We were advised that a simple local treatment would do. Super cool to not have to spend more than we needed. He was super honest, which I always appreciate.We also had some water damaged wood and termite damaged wood panels around the house. Within one week we had an appointment and the guys doing the job were punctual, efficient and helpful in answering all our questions. It's hard to find good contractors that actually care about their work, but Nefi, Toribio, and Harry not only met our expectations, they exceeded them. Shawn, the Operations Manager takes customer service seriously, is knowledgeable, professional and will go out of his way to make sure you are completely satisfied. I notice termite droppings in parts of my attic, phone Mariners and spoke to their agent advising her of the situation. She immediately had me speak to Shawn, the Operations Manager who said he would personally come out and take a look. I advised I could forward photos and Shawn advised customer service was important and insisted driving up to do a personal inspection. Shawn drove up on a Sunday (from Orange County to L.A. I might add) and spent over an hour assessing the situation. He advised me he would schedule one of his seasoned veterans James to come out and spot treat and borate the entire attaic, Both Shawn and James were professional and courteous, explained how the process worked, how long it would take and its effectiveness. Mariner's was very prompt in scheduling an inspection. Nathan, the owner, and Juan, a qualified inspector, were both courteous and provided great information during the free inspection. Fortunately, my house and garage only needed localized treatment; included in the final price was a 3-year warranty,along with repairing and painting of some damaged wood. The work was scheduled within days of the inspection, and Sebastian showed up on time and reviewed the project with me. He made sure all infested areas were treated, and did quality work in repairing and painting the damaged wood on my front porch columns. On 4/30/2014 my house was fumigated by Mariners Pest Control I have used Mariners for Three years now on spot treating. When I did have a problem the office scheduled an appointment and the issue was resolved. When we had a current rain my roof leaked, I call Mariners and the inspector Kevin came over and we climbed the roof together. We discovered I had Termite damage and his recommendation was to tent the house, (which has not been done in 35 years). Kevin's professional approach was what my wife and myself needed. Our concern for the flowers, the roof and the security of the property we're all addressed. On the day of the tenting Kevin and the Crew showed up on time and carefully protected our property inside and out. What they promised to do, they did. Douglas arrived on time as scheduled by phone, thoroughly and carefully examined everywhere he could see and then showed me each location of the termites and the damage caused. Tenting was the only option; the folks came to tent our house on time and finished as scheduled. Douglas came again to discuss replacing the damaged wood and we wrote up a second contract for that work. Jeremiah and Kim came to replace the wood and do a borate treatment, on time as scheduled and finished the work on time. I'd like to particularly commend Jeremiah and Kim: they were courteous, professional, meticulous and, most important to me, answered all of my questions just as Douglas had done. Upon removal of the old bath tub and shower it became readily apparent that I had a termite problem which had to be resolved in order to move forward with the project and its 3 day fast track schedule. I couldn't say enough great things about Mariners Pest Control. Our inspector Doug was far and away the most thorough and knowledgeable of the 4 companies we had out. We liked that he included an estimate for all of our termite damaged fascia with his estimate for the termite treatment even though we told him we'd probably not get to the repairs for some time. After reconsidering, we decided to have Mariners treat and replace our damaged eaves all at once. Juan, Sebastian, and Alfonso were punctual, hardworking, polite, and extremely skilled carpenters. We had an exceptional experience with Mariners Pest Control. Douglas did the inspection and took the time to explain and show us all of the damaged areas and walked us through the treatment process. He also moved the date up so we could close on our re-fi sooner. Sebastian was so professional in his repair work including the treating of the attic and deck removal of gutters, installing new facia boards, door trim and wood panels in the front of the house. He also painted everything to match the house and trim colors so everything looks brand new. For the amount of work that needed to be done we felt that the price was more than fair. We just tented our house with Mariner's Pet Control last week and really happy with their service. Shawn came and gave us a good price and without any pressure. He also very good at pickup the phone and take time to answer many of my questions. The team that came to do the actually work is also very nice. I noticed they took the time to make sure all my bagging was correctly done. They came one time and left the house the way it was. If I could put no star I will the pest control guy came to 15 Harding ave to spay , this guy is so rude he is the big white fat guy whom declined from spraying my apartment because I didn't take some paper document out my draw when he coming to spray for bed bugs and not paper bugs he then walk out this is the 2nd time this guy coming to my apt to spray and declined , he definitely need not to have a job as he has no customer service skills . he just came in the apt and stand around on the cell phone talking before he can walk around and look and see 1 drawn with paper to decline from spraying my apt, he is just too rude and doesn't ever do a good job. read more

You came to my house and I am a current customer you told me I had to do a fumigation when I just put down a lot of money for a local treatment with orange oil you called the girl and ask her if we recommended fumigation and you were yelling at her and in your words you said "if I need to leave this property and drive to the office I will be f*** pissed to get it out of the computer because you can't do your job." Nathan bent over backwards, not only to convince us to do business with him but he also went above and beyond to fix an issue that occurred when we tented. The subcontractor who tented broke numerous roof tiles, which we discovered a couple of days later. Even though he didn't have to, Nathan approached the owner of that company and acted as an intermediary, arranging to get all the broken tiles on our roof fixed.
