Was disappointed this time, not sure if they have changed their pizza bases or what but the bases are like bought frozen pizza bases. I don't remember that last time. Was disappointing to be honest. They have a lovely pizza brick oven so not sure why they aren't throwing pizza dough from scratch. Would really transform this place. Would we go back - unlikely to be honest. read more

Consistent and Delicious- Take the drive to Edgefield, Sc and go to Mario's Pizzeria. The meatballs are the best is the CSRA, and the staff our Wonderful.. Also got to Listen to Caleb Aiken Music - he has a wonderful sound and has a wide variety that he plays and sings . Will definitely be following this musician! read more

Pizza and wings are great, my favorites the Connor Pesto and Sweet Red Chili Wings. 10/10. Little pricey but worth it.

All you can eat spaghetti night. Food was sub-par at best. Pasta with meat sauce appeared to be Chef canned food. 1 tsp of meat on the whole bar. Pesto sauce tasted grainy. Bacon Alfredo- grainy as well. Salad good, not enough dressing. No blue cheese in dressing. Garlic bread was good and the beer. read more

The good part... our server was sweet. Even though we repeated our pizza order several times, it came out wrong. The "pizza" took over 30 minutes to come out. Their logo says "homemade brick oven pizza." It was more like Chuck E Cheese pizza but worse, if possible. The crust was definitely not homemade and so tough that it was hard to chew. You couldn't even cut it with a knife and fork. Do yourself a favor and miss this spot completely! read more

Mario's came highly recommended to me by my best friend. Last weekend we were out celebrating his birthday and I suggested dinner at Mario's on his previous recommendation. I had been wanting to check it out since he first told me about it. I am a huge pizza guy. I've had pizza from coast to coast and border to border in this great country. Quite frankly, pizza could be my whole way of life if not for my wife! We drove to the Edgefield town square, which is very cool! Imagine going to a place where everyone gathers for fun, and that is the town square in Edgefield, SC. As we walked into Mario's Pizza, it was almost like walking into a NY eatery. The atmosphere is so welcoming, comfortable and just puts you at ease. Our party was greeted and seated quickly. Drink orders were taken and after drinks arrived, appetizers and entrees were ordered. We had arrived very early for dinner and so the restaurant was sparsely populated. That changed fast! It was not long before musician Tim Barnett arrived and began to set up. The garlic knots and the stuffed mushrooms were delicious starters. When the pizza came I was a bit skeptical, the crust seemed to have a different texture than I am used to. To my surprise the crust had great texture and taste all the way through each bite. Sauce was just right, not overpowering, not too sweet or bitter. We ordered the "Meathead" and the "Dragged Through The Garden" (vegetarian) pizzas. Wow, the flavors were spot on, portioned well with toppings and overall just great pizza! Great food, great service, great atmosphere and music was great as well; it added to our dining experience. Overall I'm thankful for the introduction to this little hole in the wall in Edgefield, SC. Checked out Mario's Pizzeria in Edgefield, SC. Short drive from where we live. We haven't been in Edgefield in years, it was a cute little downtown, but there was just nothing to do there. We're so glad we went back! We found Mario's pizzeria and were pleasantly surprised! Pizza was so good, reminded me of pizza from up north! Fresh toppings, great crust too! Oh we had the meatballs! You could tell they were fresh and home made. They also have a cool bar area and there is a small stage up front where local musicians play on the weekends! Great family story there too! If you haven't been to Edgefield lately, places like Mario's Pizzeria is bringing it back to life! read more

I was in this establishment Friday, February 9, 2024 and to say the least I will not be back. Mario's was not overly packed, we were a table of 5. Three out of the 5 ordered a drink from the bar and the other 2 drinks were a water and a sprite. After 10 mins of ordering the drinks from the bar, they were brought to the table. Still no water or sprite at this point. I asked 2 different waiters about the missing drinks. 25 minutes later the water and sprite came out. During the waiting period of the drinks, we were not given any menus. I took it upon myself to get up and grab menus for the table. 3 appetizers were ordered between everyone in our party. One being cheese bread, the other garlic knots and an order of wings. 2 of the appetizers arrived, never the wings. The said party that ordered the wings also ordered loaded fries and a pizza. None of her things were brought to the table as an appetizer. Everything was delivered to the table all at once. The server nor the owner were apologetic. Here's the kicker** - refills were asked on the sprite and water. Thankfully I bite the top of my straw while drinking because the drinks were brought back out to the table and the cups along with the drink inside were mixed up. GROSS! The server laughed it off like it was no big deal. Didn't ask or attempt to just remake them in new cups to cut out the confusion of who's who. The pizza was subpar. More on the spectrum of doughy uncooked pizza with cheap toppings. Not great. Also, if you want to see how the owner of this establishment talks to others in the community, please go take a look at his restaurant Facebook page. "Mario's Pizzeria- Edgefield SC". Recently tried to place and was not impressed. The staff was kind of rude but the service and food were just ok, nothing special really. I did have a pizza along with other things and the pizza was horrible. The crust was tougher than cardboard and had not flavor, The top was very greasy. The best thing about this place is the location. It's really nice inside with a little sitting area with a couch and a music stage. I would like to go on a music night for beer and hanging out, but I won't order food again. read more

We ordered for the first time tonight. A veggie pizza and a pepperoni pizza. I was told 20 minutes for pick up and when we got ther the pizzas we cold. We would have been better off with Pizza Hut! $40 for two pizzas that look and taste like cheap frozen! EXTREMELY disappointing. I do not recommend Mario's!! read more

Pizza is very good. It's a nice place to grab a quick meal in Edgefield. Gets very crowded on Friday and Saturday evenings.

This was my first time going here and will absolutely be my last. The food itself honestly wasn't bad but the service was poor and the owner is extremely unprofessional. Story: I went in and placed a Togo order. Paid for my food and said I was going to my vehicle would come back in 20 mins. Went back in and food still wasn't ready. Finally received my pizzas - one was missing a topping (pep) and the other was to have double pep had what would be generous to describe as single pep. The lady at the counter took them over to the kitchen to tell them what happened. I saw them start placing pepperoni onto the pizzas. I asked that they be remade instead of overcooked. I was told there would be a wait - understandable because you're redoing my food. Said I would be outside again but that I feel a partial refund is in order due to delay and kitchen mixup. The lady came out a few minutes later asking for my bank card so she could refund me and adjust the price. She stated if I took the pizzas with added pep but without having to remake them "they would be taken off the bill" or they'll remake them at full price. I said we will take the adjustment and followed her back inside. She had to call someone to figure out how to refund the original cost and recharge it. About 10 minutes has passed now with her holding my card this whole time. Pizzas are brought up and given to me. She hands me back my card with a receipt and said "I charged you this amount the second time". I was charged half price for both pizzas and not charged for my garlic bread. I told her this isn't what you told me I would be charged at the vehicle but whatever I'm ready to leave have a nice day we won't be coming back. I walk out to my vehicle to put my food in the back. Next thing I know the owner comes running out yelling at me that "I am now stealing food" and clearly in a huff. I said excuse me I paid for this. "No you're stealing we bent over backwards to accommodate you and now you're stealing from me!". I said she charged me for the food I paid for it "no you didn't." So I followed him back in to settle the dispute as I'm not trying to steal food. He continues to yell at me now in front of all the customers that "this is a business and we are going to handle business". I told him "I don't appreciate you coming at me like this and you're being unprofessional. She told me she charged me for the food and handed me the card back". Went to bar as he's still yelling in the kitchen area and she says she didn't charge me. I said you literally handed me my card saying this is what you charged me but whatever here's the card. I apologized to her if I misunderstood her words when she handed me the card and receipt before...signed the new provided receipt and got my card back. Stepped over to open kitchen and told him I'm sorry if I misunderstood her I'm not trying to steal from you and I don't appreciate how you chose to handle that as a business owner. He then proceeds to yell at me "just do me a favor and don't ever come back here again". I said don't worry we won't and I won't recommend anyone else to either and left. So to the food... Garlic Bread - a little salty but not bad. Marinara sauce had great flavor. Pizzas - mediocre at best but the pepperoni used was the small ones that get a nice crust so they were good at least. Salad - it's a salad. The balsamic vinaigrette was good...the lady said it was made in house. Lasagna - dry dry dry. Do yourself a favor and go to Pizza Hut if you're wanting pizza in Edgefield or drive to town and go to one of those. Antonio's in downtown North Augusta is very good. I was really taken aback at how the owner handled himself during the whole situation. I've met him previously in passing as his wife owns TLC Bakery which has great stuff. Chasing down a customer and yelling at them in front of an establishment of customers with families over an honest misunderstanding regarding payment after you made the error on the food to start with is beyond unprofessional. I'll make sure anyone who asks me about your business is steered elsewhere. read more

Perhaps my expectations were too high... being a native of Naples, Italy I was hoping for a classic ' Pizza Napoletana'. Unfortunately what I received was what appeared to be a pre-made pizza Shell about 8-10" at best with no cornicione??? The pepperoni was the size of a penny and the sauce did not have a fresh taste, and the cheese was not fresh mozzarella. Plastic utensils, styrofoam cups and loud music.
