Being a lone female traveler, I have always felt safe here. I have been here for a year. The owners are literally the best!!! They closely monitor the premises. The entrance and exit are gated. And there are security cameras all around the park. The park is family owned and the owners live on site. The park is very clean and very well maintained. It's the best little hidden gem in the country on Herrington lake and above the marina and restaurant. There are also several other marinas with restaurants nearby. I would definitely recommend Chimney Rock RV Park, and I would definitely stay here again!

It's quite a walk down the pier to the store and restaurant. There are cabins on other side of marina from Rv sites. Plenty of ramps to put boat in water. There is not a lot of signage where to go so got to ask many questions instead of someone explaining things to you. Prices are cheap right now. Average of $29 per night.

With several campground options in the Lake Cumberland area, I think I found my favorite…read more Initially, I had planned on staying at Falls Creek Camp Ground which was just a few miles up the road, but after I discovered Conley Bottom was almost the same rate AND CB has full hookups, I made a last minute route here. When we pulled in, it was about to storm and almost dark. We were greeted at the store which was apparently closed. The gentleman explained that he would just come by in the morning to collect the due. He also said that there isn't any pre-booking available, everything is walk up only. Right now the rate in the first RV area is $24 per night. The rate increases for the season on 5/20/17. The second area RV section doesn't include sewer hook ups and is $4 cheaper. The second area is where the playground and dock access that leads to the marina is and seemed to currently be more popular than the first area. The views from both sections overlook the marina and beautifully picturesque. They have several large, pull through sites. We stayed in site L which was the closest one to the lake. None of the sites have lake access, but the marina is within a few minutes walk. A very important and possible deal breaker for anyone concerned about the drive there is that it is a narrow road and if you're heading in late when the boats are headed home, they take up most of the road and you practically have to pull off to allow them to pass.

We also rented the tube which was a 3 person seated tube. We can't say enough great things about our day! Jimmy dropped the boat off to us, explained everything and off we went. The kids had a blast on the tube and we were able to park the boat in a cove where we swam and fished. Can't say enough great things about the price, friendliness of the guys who dropped off and picked up the boat and the cleanliness of the boat. Thank you for a great day on Lake Cumberland!

She made a ten dollar mistake but I didn't catch it, but Eldon did and about 6:00AM the next morning there he was as we where tearing down and getting ready to leave, he handed me a $10,00 dollar bill. We love this camp ground. It's a hidden gem off of 127 in Frankfort. Just minutes from the capital…read morebuilding and Buffalo Trace Distillery. It's nestled back into nature and right on the Kentucky River of course. We are full timers and have been living here for 4 months and we are going to be sad to leave. The campground is filled with everything you need. There's an awesome common room with tables a fridge stove TV/Cable also A WiFi Cafe (just ask for password) and laundry room. So many things all there for your use. There's also an awesome men's and womens restroom that they just redid the floors in and are now painting! Two showers each is very convenient. If you want a fire pit by your camper just ask! Most people here have their own. You may not be parked on the river. But it's just. Short walk and benches are available for enjoying the views. It's a very short walk to the water from anywhere in the camp. Most of the campers here are share holders and only come for the weekends so during the week it's very quite and relaxing. Many weekends there have been live bands and so many other fun activities going on! Every is usually friendly and polite. Don't forget to wave at your neighbors! Charles, Rus, and another gentleman (sorry I forgot your name) do an amazing job to accommodate you during your stay and work hard to make the campground what it is. Don't forget the office where you'll check in and such has items available for sale from sweets to t shirts.

Campsites were close, but still had ample room to socialize. Grounds were well maintained. Nice, quiet, and peaceful location for a quick stay or extended trip. Would definitely return. Most impressed with all the staff and campers that made us feel like family. Since we were without a truck for 6 days, we were offered rides, food or anything we needed. One long term camper, Chuck offered us his truck for the day! In traveling, you don't always look at the physical amenities a place has to offer, but the personal connection that the "camping family" provides. Thanks Angie, Russ, Chuck, Kelly, Bryan and all. While our truck was delivered back to us, the kitchen slide broke (on our new camper) . Sadly, our long awaited trip to Maine was cancelled as we had to return home. Still waiting for repairs.

Tree on one side and power pole was too tall to open the slide on the other side. Will avoid this place in the future. They need to address the camp sites before the amenities- not really a holiday but more a Journey KOA.
