They do offer a hot breakfast, but it is not included in your stay you have to pay separate for it. The staff at the front desk is very friendly and courteous, but due to staffing shortages, when you request coffee or towels, they have to do deliver for you, which can take some time when their main priority is managing the front-end. Rooms are accomodating, A/C worked well, plenty of room to move around and my room had a mini fridge and microwave. Bathroom had a nice walk-in shower, but the location of the toilet was a bit close to the wall and when the put the toilet paper holder next to it, your literally sitting against it. Not a good design whomever did that. The location of the hotel is in an industrial park area, but there are multiple hotels, restaurants and places to get toiletries if you forgot any. It's a 30 minute drive to Bardstown, where they host the Kentucky Bourbon Festival each year and 45-60 minute from to Louisville. I feel it's conveniently located if you are looking to save some money from staying in Bardstown.

So when I first contacted this location to make a reservation, I tried to get to the front desk…read more When I did, they transferred me to reservations, basically an outsourced call center. There are a few Holiday Inn locations in this Kentucky where I have found this happens. When you arrive and check in, this location will take a credit card for incidentals. Again, this happens at a few of the Holiday Inns I have stayed at in Kentucky. What I have liked so far about this location is that they have a breakfast menu in the elevator and they state that they give you two complimentary waters in the fridge. Since I am kind of wary about having a credit card on file, I am probably not going to take them. I feel like items in fridges are being weight monitored. The king standard room is nice. Tons of space towards the center of the room. 3/24/2026 Shower: The showerhead in the bathroom is amazing with a mist type setting. I am going to miss that. Breakfast: Pretty much top!!! They basically max out everything possible that one would want a hotel to throw at them. I am writing about, two types of omelets (white and folded egg, egg beater eggs), bacon AND sausage (not just one or the other, and not just the sausage patty, the actual good tasting sausage links), french toast, and delicious seasoned potatoes. Their wide array of teas is amazing, both caffeinated and decaffeinated options in the breakfast area. Do not be down if you only find two options of black tea in the rooms because of this. I grabbed like two of each in the breakfast area for whenever I want to drink them because I am almost always traveling. In the fridge, they not only have yogurts, but yogurt parfaits (although, they have no expiration stickers on them. I would like to see how they monitor these parfaits from going bad). I had taken one and it was so refreshing. I think this Holiday Inn location is killing it in terms of what an individual would want. I have not seen too many Holiday Inns with this elaborate of a breakfast setup. This experience would be best compared to a Hilton and more than likely, one would have to be some kind of high ranking rewards member to even try to access the breakfast there.

There's no excuse for both of these to be closed simultaneously. A whole lot of road noise. My advice is to look elsewhere.

If friendly staff are a must for you, you might consider this hotel. Staff were not overly or obnoxiously friendly, but they weren't rude either. If a nice, well thought out, and creatively presented breakfast is a must for you, you will definitely want to look elsewhere. We are here for 3 nights and the breakfast is always the same. You have your choice of up to 4 small waffles or 1 large waffle. You can then choose from Orange or Apple juice. At the next stop, you may choose between fruit loops cereal or Post Raisin Bran. You will then find a basket of red apples, with the store sticker still on them (indicating they have not been washed). For the last stop, the offerings are banana/strawberry or peach flavored yogurts. It's like Ground Hog day, the same offerings day after day. We chose not to utilize housekeeping (we just swapped out our towels), but the same guy running the breakfast is the housekeeper as well. Overall, the beds were comfortable and the stay was pleasant.

We got a king suite with jacuzzi. The bed was WONDERFULLY comfortable. The jacuzzi was such a treat. The jets worked as they should. Our walk-in shower is awesome. If we come to cave city again, we'll be staying there! Thanks Lena!

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone and would not stay here again. At check in they put us on the first floor which is the floor for pets. We love pets, we have pets, we did not travel with pets. The room smelled so bad of stinky, wet dog that our clothes smelled when we changed out of them 45 minutes later. Thick cloying, wet dog smell. We asked for a new room immediately but the desk staff needed the managers approval before switching us. We finally did get switched-- 30 minutes later to a smaller room on a different floor with no price adjustment and no apology. I was happy the room did not smell this time-- BUT-- there were several dead cockroaches in the room. The next morning we asked for the dead roaches to be vacuumed up and then we had to ask again that afternoon. (they did finally vacuum up the roaches) The room was an ADA room and the blinds were broken but it did not smell like dog. Breakfast day one- with 75 minutes left on the breakfast time most all the food was wiped out (eggs, yogurts, milk, oj) and ALL the tables were dirty. It was a busy summer morning with lots of kids running around why would they have not planned for the crowd? Breakfast day two-- much better. Clean and stocked. (and two people working) This was by no means the Hampton Inn we depend on. I will not be back.

The vibe and decor is an eclectic mix of yesteryear meets modern, bright and airy! It's a perfect blend! The new owners are still ongoing their projects of updating many things; yet it seems as if everything has already been done! There has been no detail left out! It's spic and span CLEAN from top to bottom! Super Cleanliness is a big PLUS for me! The breakfasts are absolutely SCRUMPTIOUS! The presentation in the Dining room is where the experience starts! Presentation truly is everything and The Hill House has it! Jim and Cheryl are both very creative people! I'm sure they'll keep the updates going until they have it just SO-SO to meet their level of what they want this lovely home to be! My cousin and I had a 2 night stay here while visiting the Bardstown KY area. I stayed in the Maple Room. My cousin was in the Magnolia room. I couldn't have been more fortunate than to have a chosen the room that just absolutely was everything I'd want it to be. (Be very careful of the lower door knobs or you get locked in your room. Jim is going to change out all of these. You'll be fine if you don't lock that bottom doorknob!) Thank you so much to Jim and Cheryl that made our stay truly enjoyable. Jim, an extra thank you for helping me exit out of the parking lot upon departure in the rain on those curvy roads. To Cheryl, I just hate it that with the rain and all that I forgot those amazing leftovers out of the fridge. I sure was looking forward to that later this evening! You both went above and beyond! Best of wishes to you on the rest of your Journey! I have just a couple of tips for anyone traveling here. You need to physically type in the address into your GPS. If you don't, you'll end up like me driving in circles in some of the most beautiful farmlands and rolling hills I've ever seen! That part was great, but, you may panic, like I did! The location is very easy to pass right by it and end up doing this. However, it was because I spoke my GPS instead of actually typing in the address. Also, if you should have any physical limitations, be aware that there are stairs down to the patio and then of course if you're staying in a room on the upper level, there are stairs. This is an Historic home and there are no elevators. Also, be prepared for a lot of winding roads in the areas between Bardstown and Loretto. The roads themselves are beautiful, but there are so many people that live there that drive SO FAST around those curves, that I was truly frightened a couple of times. I suppose the locals know the roads and they're not concerned. I hope someone in the City Council, or the Mayor, becomes concerned, and SOON. Better to advice their residents to cool it on these roads before someone dies a tragic death here. I hate to write that but I don't want anyone harmed on the roads of Loretto, KY. I can't believe the local law enforcement doesn't seem concerned about this.
