Penne Pacifica is dope. Beer selection is dope. Stall in men's washroom sort of looks like a cabinet but that's okay. Ordered take-out on Friday Sept 8th, delivery was more than 20 minutes longer than estimate. Both the pizza and pasta/garlic bread arrived cold. Pizza was also well over-cooked --"'crisp" to be sure. Called Marios, mentioned to them that this was the second time I have had to return an item, a replacement pizza was sent. It took more than an hour to get the 2 nd pizza and wouldn't you know, it was not very hot. One would think that a replacement pizza would be immediately sent out, with the first available driver. Later I called and asked to have the price of the missing pizza and the $16 tip credited back to my Visa. No apology no nothing. I have had the pleasure of eating here three times in the last month. I was fortunate enough to enjoy the wings, the ribs and the pizza. The wings were the best I have had in years. The ribs were perfectly done with a caramalized sauce to die for. The pizza was loaded with toppings, but not greasy, perfectly toasted, and leaned heavily towards the gourmet side of Pizza, without being pretentious (and empty). The staff was great, without being overbearing, and the owner took time to come and chat with us. I cannot wait to get back to the mainland, I already know where I will be eating dinner. Mario's is a great place to go when you really don't want to make supper. The best pizza on the menu has ground beef, tomatoes, etc and then lettuce and more cheese over the toppings. It's seriously delicious comfort food if you like pizza. I also find their Frank's chicken sandwich really tasty, but I usually ask them to make it with extra mayo so that the spice is mellowed a bit. It makes the sandwich a wonderful, saucy mess. The artichoke dip is always a hit, as are the stuffed mushrooms. read more

Luckily, the owner always brings out free pizza for people who are waiting to be seated. Started with the french onion soup. Too salty, and I LOVE salt. Next up, a New York steak. Underseasoned and overcooked, a bad combination. Could charitably be described as medium, too bad I ordered it rare... Garlic mashed potatoes had an odd texture, watery with little bits of under cooked potato. No garlic flavor, in fact not much flavor at all. And topped with paprika, for some reason. Mushrooms were good. Side carrots were OK. Onion rings were crunchy if a bit greasy. All in all a mediocre meal. Would have been overpriced at $25, but I paid $40. read more

Very impressed with the thoughtfulness of our server. Had 2 young kids and had their dinner fired in to the kitchen right away. This really helped keep the kids sane until the adult food arrived. The muscles were awesome and half our table of 9 had them. Good review of the lasagna and pizza too. Nice selection of local beers as well. A great job supporting the local breweries. Followed up with a visit a couple days later for brunch which was also excellent. Some of the best hashbrowns I've had in a long time. Nicely spiced and very crisp. People and staff are nice but Lots of inconsistencies in their cooking. Sometimes steaks are too over done even when ordered medium rare. Eggs too cooked when ordered over easy. Saturday, August 6, we went to Tsawwassen for an event. Before we went, we googled to find a nice place for lunch. We found this place which had very nice reviews. We ordered pizza to go online and were expecting a nice time on the beach that day. When I went to pick up at 11am, the order was not ready, so while waiting, I ordered a soup (bowl size, not a cup, after the waitress explained to me the size difference) to go as well. Okay, after we got to the beach and ready to enjoy, we found out that, first, there was no napkins packed, at all. Well, I can manage that, I guess. But please be warned that the pizza was greasy, so it was a bit messy to eat it with my tissues. Then, when I looked into the paper bag for the soup, I saw a tiny white paper cup with lid, like the small size Haagen Dazs ice cream. Hummm, I thought I ordered and paid $8+ for a bowl size soup!!!!! Curious, what kind of container they use to put their cup size soup in?? Maybe next time you should ask to see the actual containers for bowl and/or cup size soup before you order! And, the roasted red pepper soup WAS ICY COLD! I wished it was an ice cream! The soup I ordered from a restaurant was directly from fridge!??!!! It looked like a cup of ketchup! And, another BIG AND, no spoon!!!! I called the restaurant right away, no one picked up the call. Maybe too busy? No comment. Not sure how other people can have such a nice review, but we honestly have to persuade ourselves to think those are genuine reviews from authentic purchasers. read more

Highly recommend this restaurant and the atmosphere is very nice but child friendly at the same time which makes Watkins here comfortable with our smaller children. An ok bite to eat. Last time I came here the calimari wasn't too crispy, but it wasn't chewy either. The wings I got were a touch dry, but very tasty. The food quality declined from when it first opened, the food isn't bad, but it isn't good either. It's simply an OK place to eat. It's time for the wait staff to start paying attention to the customer's orders, and what is being sent out from the kitchen. 3 visits, 3 errors on our orders in the past 4 months. Apologies and remedial action is all nice and fine, but how about just getting it right in the first place? Give the wait staff pens & pads to WRITE DOWN the orders, have them read it back, and have them CHECK THE MEALS before delivering them. It;s not that hard, and would make all the difference in the world. The onus should not be on the customer to constantly bring it to the staff's attention that the orders are incorrect. 3 strikes - we're out. Going somewhere that they listen to the customers and pay attention to what they are serving. The food here is just not good enought o warrant the effort you have to make to actually get what you ordered! read more
