I stopped in last weekend to get a few things, but I left without buying anything. They are under new ownership, so I was looking forward to seeing some changes. I was sad to see how much the deli has changed. The store was dirty and the prepared food didn't look fresh. My neighbor told me she heard one of the new owners passed away. I don't know if this is true. And if that's the case, I am truly sorry for their loss. I'll try this deli again at some point, and I am hoping by then they will have cleaned up the store. They used to have good sausage and peppers and veal stew. Their subs were delicious and my favorite was the chicken salad. Not sure about this place yet... seemed a little disjointed on my last visit. Not ready to get into the meats for the grille that I used to rely on here a few years ago. I did remember the tuna wrap I tried and came back for another. Wasn't easy to order... it's a bit of a process. Seems they need better organization... but their tuna is really good... and a large wrap, enough for 2. There are some bright spots, interesting cheeses, prepared items. They are going out of business so save yourself the gas if you plan on going there.. we only went there for 2 items each time and Oscar with the gold teeth is the sweetest guy. Friendly to the max. Sadly, under new ownership it has changed. The familiar faces that welcomed me and gave me great service are gone. I used to be a regular here but it is no longer the case. Yikes! First timer and very disappointed. The people were welcoming and very friendly. So that's why I gave them the one star. But what I ordered from the deli counter... Awful doesn't even describe what I was given. My experience at other local Italian markets has been very different. This prosciutto was chewy, stringy, dry and not even edible. The meat was definitely not fresh and oddly, the slices were about 3" in length. Not typical. I added fresh moss, basil pesto,olive oil, salt and pepper to complete my made at home sandwich. I ending up removing the prosciutto but it still tasted "off" so I just chucked the sandwich and whatever was left of the meat - even the pieces that I had saved for tomorrow's lunch. Again, customer service was superb but the prosciutto, inedible. I won't be back. read more

That is 95. This was his favorite place. It got sold a few years ago and it just went downhill so sad that beautiful Italian girl that worked the Front Desk made my day. Everybody was so nice in the deli Counter. It was like family. The food was delicious until the takeover. I don't know what happened. They should've kept everything as is. Hard Pass on Mario's Market for Meat I stopped in looking for skirt steak after The Boys and Publix came up short. I remembered Mario's meat cases being full of great cuts, but this visit was the opposite -- oddly empty, with just hamburger, a few steaks, and some random items. When I asked about skirt steak, the counter clerk checked with the butcher and quickly returned with a tray of "meat." It didn't look like skirt steak at all, more like scraps. She brought out more from the back, but it was the same story. Against my better judgment, I bought it. By the next day, the meat had turned green and smelled rancid. I returned it, and while they did accept the return, they deducted a 3% fee for using my credit card -- with no posted notice. They offered me a gift card, but I declined. Bottom line: I won't be shopping here again. read more

First time here - greeted warmly and invited to browse. I went up and down every aisle, admiring the offerings. The bakery and deli choices looked mouth-wateringly delicious but we had just eaten lunch next door. I chose a can of White Clam Sauce and am looking forward to trying it. Horrible experience today with the new owner Andrew. I called this morning at 9:20am and asked if they had Pizza Rustica left for purchase for Easter. Andrew said yes to my delight. I offered to pay for it then over the phone as I said I would be unable to pick it up until 4-4:30p. He assured me my name would be on it saved and to ask for him. I offered AGAIN to prepay, to which he reaffirmed that is not necessary and he would make sure it would be there. I arrived at 4:20p as planned and he said they sold it earlier this morning. Offered no solution or a way to make it right. Thankfully I went to Joesph's and they had what I needed to save the day. I will ONLY go to Joesph's Italian Market from now on and suggest the same for everyone else. The old ownership was much better. read more

My wife and I have been going to Mario's since we arrived in Florida.They have everything to please everybody that loves Italian delicacies! Their cheeses, cured meats, desserts, homemade sausages etc... We're having the family for Xmas and they were the only one who had veal shanks to serve them my wife's famous Osso Bucco. A friend of mine went to Costco, Winn Dixie, Publix for veal shanks and he couldn't find any, I sent him to Mario's and luckily they had some left! I love their homemade sausages, I don't like fennel, so they have sausages without fennel, it's great on the BBQ between a panino with melanzane, and peppers in oil. Sad to say Mario's is under new ownership. Always went to Mario's for superb eggplant caponata, which sold out every day. There's a new chef and recipe. The caponata tasted awful. I could not buy It was my go to for their meatballs & marinara (which had been excellent ). Today I brought both back for a refund. The meatballs tasted like there was no cheese, parsley or breadcrumbs. Just meat. The sauce was sour, soupy and had bits of meat in it. Unfortunately. I met the owner Alex who has a serious attitude problem. I called the day before to ask them to put aside a case of DIET Manhattan Specials for me to pick up. They are on the other side of town so I planned to run some errands nearby and pick it up. It should be noted I said DIET at least 10x as I'm diabetic. When I arrived they didn't have a regular case so he made up a box with 24 individual bottles he got out of the fridge. I pulled my car up and he loaded them into the trunk. I get home excited to drink one. After chugging half the bottle I realize it tasted too good. It was the regular WITH SUGAR. And so was the entire 24 case. I called them and he told me oh I made a mistake come back. At this point I'm already home 10 miles away. Then he says he'll bring them to my house at 6:30 pm. I text him my address. At 6:30 I called and he said he was busy. Maybe he'll bring it over in a 2 or 3 hours. I had pretty much given up on the guy when he texts me at 10pm that he's right down the street. He comes over and cops an attitude with me and takes a bottle back out for the one that I drank earlier and could've went into a diabetic shock from! Now he comes to my house when I'm getting ready for bed at 10pm and tells me he "has a life". Then don't tell me your coming at 6:30 if your coming at 10pm. Anyway we had some words. He let me know he's the owner and I let him know I'll never be back there again. I'd rather brave the crowds at the Boys or Doris's to get my Manhattan Specials. This guy was a major douche bag and that's being nice. I don't predict he'll be around here long with an attitude like his. read more

I wanted to go to Mario's market a few times I'm glad I finally did. Everything looked very appealing and I left with bags of meats, appetizers and biscotti. I warmed the stuffed artichoke, that was over $10, and was disappointed. It was mostly breadcrumbs I didn't taste garlic, cheese, butter or even the artichoke Just a lot of crumbs. We are very glad we found this small Italian market! Although we wish they would have more variety of Italian cheeses, so far we haven't found any "Italian" store in the entire Palm Beach County offering many imported fresh Italian cold cuts. They also have a good selection of meats, homemade sausages, bread and pastry (besides the usual Italian items like pasta, rice, etc.) If you like it, they also carry rabbit, coming frozen from Pennsylvania! I just moved down here from NY and walking in here I felt right at home. We came in to purchase some cold cuts and pastries because Publix and not even the boys have good Italian cold cuts they were fresh and they had a great variety of fresh meat ribeyes sausage Italian bread every product that you would need to make a delicious Italian meal. I have been going to Mario's for over 20 years, and while they have changed owner's, the quality has been maintained. The hidden gems include some of the best sandwiches in the area. I mean, they make their own roast beef. Excellent selection of meats and cooked items. As far as the bakery, you will not be disappointed. Order some fresh cannoli or, my personal favorite, a lobster claw with cannoli cream. I have ordered an entire thanksgiving meal from them and their was food for days. read more

Mario's oh Mario's. I wanted to give them 4, maybe 5 stars HOWEVER...it went down south quickly. I'll start with the good... The Good: Great food. And I mean great food. Fresh, tasty, delicious and a wide variety . The service at the food counter was good too (notice I specified "food counter). They also have a bakery with some awesome single serve desserts. The Bad: The food is so good that they have to charge a pretty penny for it but it's well worth it. The lady at the counter is either new or slow but she takes forever to process your purchase. The Ugly (this is where they lost 2 or 3 full stars for me): I paid with 2 cards. One gift card and another regular credit card. The lady used up the money I had on the gift card, which was $4, and then, instead of charging me the difference, she charged the full amount on my credit card. So my $11.92 meal cost me $15.92. So I said to myself, "whatever", the line was getting long and if I asked to correct it, she would have taken another eternity to try and fix it and who knows if she would've gotten that right. So then I get back to work, open the containers, and dig right in. Again, the food was amazing BUT halfway through it, one of the peppers on my kabob still had the grocery sticker on it!!!!! Gross!!! So who knows if they even washed the vegetables cuz for damn sure they missed the sticker. I was going to take a pic, forgot, and threw the stuff out so oh well. I know this is just one bad experience cuz as you can see from the reviews, it's a great place and I don't doubt. Mistakes happen. But when they happen on your first visit, and not one but two mistakes, damn...oh Mario's oh Mario's. Good luck when you visit!!! Had the Italian sub from Mario's. This was the most discussing sub I have ever had. Loaded with hot peppers, loads of olives and a small amount of meat and cheese. Even though we asked for NO MAYONAISE the thing was loaded with mayo dripping out. And to top it all off one of the meats still had the plastic casing on it !!! My wide had a roast beef sub with the same issues (minus the plastic casing) . We used to get their subs all the time.. they used to excellent.. Not anymore.. this is now the second time in 1 year we got horrible subs. Will not go back there any time soon.. probably never again once we find another good sub place. read more

Lovely little market with fresh produce, house made soups/pasta/reheat at home meals and a killer deli. I work near there and whether it's bananas, pasties, or take home dinners you'll always find something delicious to take with you. Got some raw chicken quarters here, and it was not fresh - it stunk. I threw it away. Will not be buying meat here again. Bummer, its a cute place and I live a block away.
