What took us so long to find this little Italian gem? Despite the tacky wall of fake greenery and flowers, we found the place to be terrific: reasonably priced, great food taste, and excellent service. We stopped by for dinner on a Friday night without reservations and were seated right away. (I suspect this may not be the case during "season", when the snowbirds return.) We were in the mood for pizza. Papa Guiseppe's has one pizza size: 12" In addition to the regular pizza, they offer a Sicilian thick crust pizza. I asked if the regular pizza had a crunchy or a soft crust. The server said it could be prepared either way. Yay! We ordered the soft crust with pepperoni on 1/2 of the pizza. Was it the best pizza ever? No, but it was tasty and satisfied our craving. We also ordered a baked ziti entree to go with the pizza. It came with a choice of garlic or regular rolls. Yes, please! We had both. The garlic was not overpowering as is the case with some Italian restaurants. It also came with a choice of pasta fagioli or minestrone soup. We chose the former. It was a bit salty but still very good and full of beans and pasta. The baked ziti was delicious! It had a nice sauce and plenty of cheese. In fact, the pasta was better than the pizza, so we finished the pasta and took home some pizza. The server was attentive and checked in regularly to be sure we had everything we needed. And the prices of the entrees are quite reasonable, which was refreshing to see as restaurant prices have risen so much recently. A definite gem of Italian. Took my sister and BIL out for dinner for her 80th. Great service and very welcoming. Awesome pasta fagioli, Caesar Salad and Fried Calamari. Each like Nona used to make. The place has good food and good service, but it has some lousy policies that prevent it from being a better restaurant. First off, if you get a meal you can only get soup with it. Salad is an upcharge, and this is different than most Italian restaurants where you can get soup or salad without getting a hit to your wallet. Also, if you order pizza in the restaurant, you can only order a small individual Pizza. Any other Italian restaurant will let you order any size you want. I suppose the goal here is to get more money out of you since everyone has to order their own individual Pizza rather than getting a big pizza for the table. In any event, it's not cool. read more

The food was amazing. We met our cousins and our granddaughter for dinner. My husband used to eat there several times a week when he worked down there. Two of us had fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. Big portions. Two had chicken parmigiana. My granddaughter took half of hers home. The other had chicken franchise. He loved it. The meals came with pasta fagioli or iItalian weddings soup. The pasta fagioli was delicious. It was made with a chicken base and not tomato. The Italian wedding soup was Slofie made with a chicken broth. It was also delicious. My granddaughter and I split a cannoli and my husband had lemoncello cake. Both were delicious. The service was fantastic. The whole place was decorated with Valentine decorations. First, I noticed the ambiance. It reminded me of places in Little Italy. Then I was greeted by a very friendly waitress, Vivian. Since I was checking out the place to possibly order for a party, Vivian answered all my questions about pricing, sizes, etc. So it was time for the taste test. I cam here with a decent size group and I must say the service was very good. I ordered the chicken marsala with broccoli and a salad. (When the bill came, I was surprised they charged me an extra $2 for the broccoli; it would have been better if they had told me there would be an uncharge). Always very good. I had food delivered two times via Uber Eats. Both times the food arrived hot and fresh. Pizza was good, not good as in New York good, but for Florida, it was good. Lots of gooey cheese and the sauce wasn't bad either. A bit tangy for my taste as I prefer a little sweetness in my sauce. I didn't try my friends Chicken Parmesan hero but he liked it and ate the entire hero. I did not like the meatballs at all. They were small and tasted like they were out of a bag. The waitress was indifferent to the fact that we were deep in conversation with the people we met here, and kept treating us as though she was trying to get us out of there. The food was subpar and certainly not worth the asking prices. Of course our companions would disagree. But for someone used to home cooked Italian food, it was not impressive. Moreover, I had a shrimp cocktail which was a handful of shrimp on a plate with lettuce and ice cubes. This was unsettling to me, as I am extremely pregnant and immunocompromised so the idea of putting ice cubes from who know where on lettuce I would have eaten didn't seem like the most sanitary practice. I'm disappointed... the beginning of this review is negative but please read on...I ordered at the bar... bartender was very nice but extremely busy. She was taking food and drink orders solo. I arrived 6:30pm so happy hour was over .. 4-6pm. I ordered calamari appetizer $9.95 and chicken piccata dinner $14.95. Prices are fair. Portions very good sized. The chicken piccata was advertised as s menu highlight. First, my wilted (and I mean wilted) salad arrived. I could not believe how bad it looked. Immediately I said to the bartender... you've got to be kidding. She replied.. she doesn't make the salad.....no really? I told her to take it back.. I'll have the soup.. Soup choices were minestrone or pasta fagioli. Well, another disappointment. The pasta fagioli looked and tasted like dishwater and the garlic rolls sucked. They were burned and soaked in a garlic flavored oil. I saw traces of garlic particles laying in the bottom of the oil which never made it to the roll. Sadly they advertise these as their famous garlic rolls. . I'm pleased to say the calamari came out breaded nicely, hot , crisp and fresh. No disappointment here. I was planning to have just a taste and ended up eating the entire plate. The rings were very tender, no tentacles , and the marinara sauce was homemade and chunky. I asked to have the picatta to go as I was stuffed from the appetizer portion size. The Bartender was very accommodating and had my order wrapped. This location is convenient, parking is around the front, side and back, a little tough while construction is happening in the plaza. Located on a main highway, the restaurant has a few outdoor tables... but no outdoor atmosphere . Indoors it's tight and noisy. The tables and chars look comfy but seem too large & bulky for such a small space. The building was recently renovated and there is always a crowd here. I have been by with people on line and out the door. Let me say that I did taste the Chicken Piccata when I arrived home and it was pretty good. Not the greatest but ok. There is enough to feed me for a week and I was also given a very crisp salad in my take out order with much nicer looking garlic rolls. I'm hoping for a better experience my next visit because I really want to make this my go to local Italian restaurant. We will see. read more

I've been coming down here for 20+ years to visit my grandmother in law and have always struggled finding decent Italian. We ordered Chicken Parmigiana, Chicken Marsala, Calamari and Calamari fra diavolo and all I can say is WOW! When we walked in it felt like and smelled like New York! The food smelled fantastic and looked great! (no burnt mozzarella cheese, no oily sauce). The sauce was delicious! It was the best Italian we've ever had here and I look forward to trying their other dishes along with their pizza. Our family highly recommends! You will not be disappointed!
