What a great find! Located in a building that's almost hidden, it faces the railroad tracks and the side street. The dining area is small, or should I say intimate on one side, and a butcher shop with great meats and cheeses on one side, many locally sourced and top flight on the other. We ordered a series of small plates, and each was one I'd repeat. Starting with the pickled cauliflower with a hint of curry, followed by hot honey shrimp, mushroom toast, chicken meatballs, and Brussels sprouts, each dish was hot, large enough to enjoy without stuffing us, and extremely tasty. My sister and I wanted to try and new spot for brunch and The Butcher and the Bar did not disappoint. We were seated quickly and had an attentive server. He explained the menu and local farm to table as well as the butchery which was really great to know how involved they are with their community. The atmosphere was very cozy and while the restaurant wasn't large, you didn't feel cramped or too loud inside. We thoroughly enjoyed our burgers- literally ate the entire plate and were just so pleased we tried it. Parking was very easy too- there's a large lot right next to the building so if you can't park in front of the restaurant there is ample parking nearby. Definitely will be back! read more

Having been here before and absolutely loved the place, this review hurts my soul but it must be said. When you're charging the kind of money this place does for a cocktail, having your bartender in training ask the bartender doing the training whether adding bitters will make your Old Fashioned taste bitter? Yeah, not a good look... No atmosphere to speak of, overpriced food and drink, and one of the two bartenders on duty has to read a manual to make drinks. I get that everyone has to start somewhere and that a weekday lunch in the summer might be the best time to start someone but there is something to be said for having the basics down to a science... 1 star is being generous. read more

Saw this place on Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives, and to quote Guy Fieri, "this place is legit!" I went in for lunch with my wife, and we were shocked at some of the details of this place. It's a scratch kitchen and 99% of what's made is made by hand. All the way down to the ketchup, mustard, and mayo they literally make everything. They source all of their ingredients from local , farmers and purveyors and they identify where every product is sourced from. The menu is so fresh that it literally changes daily so you can always look forward to something new. Staff was very helpful and educated on the menu and we had a spectacular time. A wonderful casual place for good food and drinks. We visited on a Friday night for dinner and we really enjoyed our meal. Things to know: 1. When you walk in the front door, the butcher shop is to the right and the restaurant & bar are to the left. 2. They serve Brunch, Lunch, and Dinner every day except Monday. 3. There were a lot of olives and it included a nice mixture of green and black olives. The Chicken Meatballs were bathed in a beautiful sauce of San Marzano tomatoes and ricotta cheese, 3 to an order. The meatballs were light but not super flavorful (because they were chicken) but the sauce sure was delicious. This was a nice appetizer and wasn't overly filling. We enjoyed the skirt steak kabobs and the Butcher's Burger (with an added 2nd patty). Both were delicious! The skirt steak was tender and perfectly cooked with a wonderful chimichurri sauce. The burger included 2 delicious patties with amazing flavor from the griddled onions and special sauce. We had a wonderful meal. The Good: The food was delicious, but the portions were relatively small, making them too small to share with others. The Bad: The service was not only slow, but the timing of our beverages and food was terrible. After ordering our dinners and beverages, it took over 25 minutes to receive our meals. While we were waiting, the waiter took our order for beverages to accompany dinner. Dinner was served not hot from the kitchen, but rather lukewarm, having sat under the heating lamps. I am giving 3 stars because the server was great and my family loved to food - but personally, the food was "ok". We arrived on yesterday (Saturday) afternoon. I was surprised and concerned that it was not too busy - I think it was about 1:30 and only two other tables were seated. We were greeted promptly by our server Colleen. We got an appetizer of potato wedges and ordered our sandwiches. The highlight of the meal was the potato wedges - the four of us ate them so fast I was able to get a picture. Crispy yet still tender inside and served with a Smokey homemade ketchup and a (from memory) salsa verde mayo. Hubby loved his meatball sub. Others at the table enjoyed theirs too. My observation of their sandwiches along with experience with my burger is that the buns are just too large given the protein size. My burger was a surprisingly small 5 oz patty and the bun was so thick that it drowned out the taste of the burger. Look at the pics to see how the meatball took up 1/2 or less of the height of the bun. After talking to the other 3 in our group, we all felt the meat to bun ratio was WAY off. Huge bummer. I have several food intolerances so the burger (or a salad) were my only options. With that said, my family may come back but I would not. read more

Had to show up to try this place twice for one meal. Went on a Tuesday and they were randomly closed. Tried again few days later and they were open. It was worth the wait. Met some friends for dinner and drinks a few weekends ago. We had a round of drinks at the bar before we sat for dinner. I was impressed with their cocktail menu. The boys had a rum flight which was unique and different so handclaps for doing something outta the ordinary from other bars/restaurants. I actually came here because of somebody else's reviews on yelp. They have a very eclectic assortment of everything. From beer , wines, food and either bourbon or whiskeys. WOW! How often do you go to a new place and get wowed? Not often for us. But this place wins 6 stars!!! The red wine sangria actually had a good bit of alcohol in it! Overall a good experience here as our first time was very pleasant. Service was average as you could tell they were clearly short handed. Our waiter was incredibly nice and patient beside them feeling stressed due to staffing shortages. You can tell the food is very fresh although some dishes were not my taste. The prices were also a bit high for the portion sizes in my opinion. I definitely think this place has a lot of potential to be even better. My drink was out of this world delicious. I had the La Mariposa and I would adore having it an again or trying something different. This just may be my now favorite cocktail. It's also neat that there's a small grocer in the back of the restaurant with a butcher but that may explain why the smell of the place is odd when first stepping in here. Our waiter told us the kraut was more like coleslaw, and he was correct. While the dog was good, it was small. For $12, I expected at least a 1/4 dog. It was more like a NY Sabrett dog. A retail butcher shop ,bar, and small restaurant with both inside and patio dining. It was featured on Diners, Drive ins and Dives with Guy Fieri. Really a 4 1/2 * restaurant. They have a daily menu. Small but very nice menu and also a small wine list but large selection of craft beers and cocktails. Colleen B was our server and a real delight, efficient, attentive. and very professional. Started with a Spinach apple salad, spinach, apples, candied walnuts, house made bacon, Manchego cheese, dried cranberries, a champagne vinaigrette, Great. For mains, I opted for the Porchetta sandwich, lemon seasoned pork belly and loin, fennel, garlic, gremolata, fennel & radish salad, and lemon vinaigrette served on ciabatta bread, Superb. My wife tried the Butcher burger, house ground local beef smashed burger with lettuce, tomato, grilled onions, pickles, cheddar cheese, and a special house sauce on a brioche bun. She said it was one of the best burgers she has had, Both came very good potato wedges. These two entrees are signature dishes and always on the daily menu. This restaurant and butcher is located on the corner of the plaza, and it's really easy to find, with plenty of parking around the area which made it ready accessible as well. The service is superb! They are al very friendly, both at the butcher shop and the restaurant itself, and their concept is quite neat, they source meats and produce locally, and all condiments at the restaurant are made from scratch. I must say, this was one of the things that got me really excited to check it out and also come back. You can really taste the freshness in their food. From entering the place, I loved the decor, and the small accents like the cleaver to open the door and also upon entering the restaurant. To the food.... We ordered a couple of cocktails which were well made, and presented. For the food we ordered the pickles and pimento, which came served with a few bread toast (probably too many for the amount of pimento and pickles that it's served with) and the porchetta sandwich, which had a very generous amount of porchetta, and a couple of steak fries (probably my least favorite part of what we got, since these were heavily seasoned with what tasted like cumin and paprika). Overall, I would love to come back and order different food, as I'd like to think they have better dishes than those I ordered. 2/19/24 Update 2 Bumping my review down to a 1. We went back to give them another chance, as the owner asked us to do in his response last year, this past weekend. My parents were in town and we decided to go to Butcher as there is ample room outside to fit a stroller (we have a 5 month old). Had the smash burger, tasteless. My wife had the shrimp risotto, the risotto was barely cooked however the shrimp was cooked perfectly, but HEAVY pepper. My parents got the steak Frits and it was also over peppered. So we said to ourselves this was the last time. Unfortunately they haven't improved at all since Dan left - outside of the drinks and atmosphere you're better off going elsewhere. I saw a post on their Instagram about Sunday being closed (again) due to only one Chef and simply commented "Saturday wasn't a great experience either unfortunately" - nothing mean, nothing nasty, nothing disrespectful (screen shot attached). Today I see they not only removed my comment from the post but also blocked me. I also noticed a comment removed from their Facebook page from someone else clarifying to people no one was sick, they just didn't have enough staff to open. This is beyond petty and unprofessional for a business owner to do, especially given a customer gave it another shot. We have gone to their restaurant since the very beginning, spent HUNDREDS of dollars in meals and attended a few Wine Dinners they held and bought some bottles of wine and bourbon from a bourbon tasting we attended there. This review is another entry in my tour of the places in Florida Guy Fieri has eaten at with his show Diners, Drive-ins and Dives. I have a Yelp collection if you want to follow along with my adventures. The show first aired in 2006 and it is on its 44th season of Guy's road trips across America where he highlights some of America's most underrated and delicious local eats. The Butcher and the Bar opened in 2020 in charming Boynton Beach. It is located across the street from a historic park and is a few blocks from town hall, a cultural center, and a public art installation. The Butcher and the Bar appeared during season 37, episode 2, Meat and Sweet on Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. The episode featured the house made hot dog only available on the lunch menu and the porchetta sandwich, available all day. The Butcher and the Bar is a butcher shop, bar, and gastropub. There is some street parking and a free lot behind the restaurant. The restaurant has a small dining room with rustic with exposed brick walls, wooden accents, and vintage looking lighting. There are also some tables outside under the covered patio. In the back of the restaurant is the bar. In the front is a meat case where you can purchase high quality cuts of meat for your home cooking and grilling. All of the meat is sourced locally and the menu consists of meats freshly prepared right from the butcher shop. Some of the most popular menu items are the Short Rib Grilled Cheese, Steak Burgers, Breakfast Biscuit Sandwiches, Butcher Burger, Hot Honey Shrimp, Chocolate Mouse Cake, Bread Pudding, Meatballs, and their many cocktails. My friend and I met for lunch on Fourth of July and they offered a set menu for the holiday. My friend had an order of the potato wedges waiting for me when I arrived. The thick cut roasted potato wedges were seasoned with garlic, oil, and rosemary and served with three house made sauces, salsa verde mayo, bbq, and my favorite, the ketchup. I couldn't leave without sampling a cocktail from the bar but they also serve craft beers and wine. My friend pointed out the La Mariposa which she knew I would love because it is made with butterfly pea flower which turns the drink a gorgeous hue of violet. Other ingredients in the cocktail included Puerto de Indias Black Gin, lime juice, vanilla syrup, egg white, orange creme bitters, and aromatic vanilla. The drink was unlike anything I had ever tried before and it made for the perfect refreshing sipper. For lunch I ordered the Butcher Burger, a 5 ounce house ground beef smash burger with lettuce, tomato, griddled onions, dill pickles, cheddar cheese, and special sauce, on a brioche bun. I loved how seasoned the meat was and it was an incredible burger. My sandwich came with a side and I chose their flavorful potato salad chock full of veggies. We were too full for dessert but definitely need to leave room for that next time. I loved everything about my experience at The Butcher and the Bar. The service, food, and drinks were top notch. This the perfect spot when you are craving meat and outstanding cocktails in casual laid back atmosphere. I'm so happy that Guy decided to shine a light on this great restaurant.
