I've been coming here since they opened many, many years ago. Still my favorite place for the tastiest and freshest appetizing in South Florida. They are known for their "legendary tuna" and rightfully so. Hands down, the best around. I love the baked salmon salad and the cucumber salad. It's all delicious. There are no bad choices here, as it's all pretty fabulous. Throughout the years, I have been here for breakfast multiple times, and they have a nice selection of breakfast specials. You can't go wrong with any of their cream cheese spreads. I usually stick with the nova or veggie, only because they are my favorites. I went back with my family for a late lunch and had a mixed experience overall. I ordered a make-your-own salad with romaine, chickpeas, tomatoes, cucumber, and egg, and asked for bagel chips on the side. Unfortunately, the bagel chips turned out to be cinnamon-flavored, which I really don't like and wasn't expecting at all. When I mentioned it, the waitress said that's all they had--but it would have been helpful if she had told me that so I could choose something else. To her credit, she did bring me a toasted everything bagel (scooped out) instead, but by then it had already disrupted the meal a bit. The issue wasn't just the food, but the communication--if I had known ahead of time, the experience would have felt much smoother. My husband had a pastrami with cheese sandwich and loved it, and my son enjoyed his strawberry cream cheese bagel. Portions were generous--I ended up taking home half my salad and half the bagel. Overall, I'd say it was just okay. Next time, I'd probably stick with something more predictable like an omelette and double-check any sides. Again, I don't get it? The review is below 4. We have never had a bad meal there! I just had a hot pastrami sandwich on rye. This just bested the former gold standard for this sandwich (now not even edible)! The service was friendly and accommodating. I implore my flow Yelpers not to drive ratings down because of a condiment left out, a delivery gone awry or any other non food malfeasance out of control of the restaurant. I also wish Yelp management would consider allowing a code which would tell readers/Yelpers how the food was obtained? First time eating here while visiting in Florida. Bagel shops and breakfast have always been my favorite! This place was cute, very understaffed and it was very busy. Well, I felt like Nova Scotia Salmon this morning and if you feel like Nova, there is ONLY one place to go in the Boca area and that is Bagelworks. There are two important components to this review. My server (Diana) is the absolutely best server in the restaurant. The other component is Vanessa who over sees the deli and takeout area. I told Diana that I was in the mood for Nova and she went to Vanessa and spoke to her and told what I wanted. Vanessa put a platter together for me that melted in my mouth. The Nova was like butter with an exceptional taste and quality. The platter comes with lettuce, onion, tomato and your choice of plain cream cheese or flavored cream cheese. It also comes with a bagel or toast of your choice. In addition, you also get a side dish (I chose Oatmeal). I also ordered hot coffee and she brought it to me in my usual large to go cup. Now if I really have you interested, here comes the best part. If you order this breakfast special Monday to Friday before 10:30 AM, the price for the Nova platter is $12.99 and the coffee is $1.29. My father's favorite place, and it's a good deal for breakfast before 10:30am! Restaurant seems a bit cleaner than before, but keeping the place tidy doesn't seem to be a priority. My recent 9:30am photo as an example. Staff is typically pleasant and personable. Bagels are decent. One of the bagel makers doesn't seem to know how to roll a bagel as they're often uneven and thinner where the dough is joined together. Still not a bad bagel. I have been hearing such great things about Bagelworks and I was finally able to make trip to Boca and give it a whirl. We walked in to find a selection baked goods to the right. Muffins are my weakness so I knew then it was something I would be ordering. This place is popular so there was a bit of a wait. We were greeted by a women behind the counter that directed our party of 3 to a table. As soon as we sat our waitress came to take drink orders and in a flash she was back with the nectar from the GOD'S (Of course I'm referring to coffee). The menu's were already on the table so we were already excited about our choices. I order the Blitzes with blueberry sauce for the table, oh let's not forget the muffins! our table order two cranberry muffins (grilled is the best!) , two Challah French Toasts and one Blueberry stack of pancakes. All so delicious! All in all this restaurant was a great experience. Clean, friendly and service was great. I will definitely be returning to try their corn muffins, blueberry muffins and even maybe try one of their cookie selections. I hope this review tempts your tastebuds to give them a try. I was there today to grab a bagel sandwich and go. of the three times I have been I have only ordered to go. but every time I am there it is super busy. always a great sign. today I had a turkey and swiss on a bagel with some veggies. it was outstanding. there bagels a very very good. the real deal. and the turkey - there must of been a half pound piled high. and while the price was high, I always feel like it is worth it. and as far as ordering in to-go, they are fast. they were making it almost as soon as I had placed my order - even though, again, it was super busy. whenever I am around there around lunch I make sure I stop. read more

I have had family members rave about this places tuna - to me, the tuna was way too wet. Everything is reasonably priced here and it's a great spot for decent food however the restaurant is pretty gross in terms of cleanliness. The lights were flickering due to almost being dead and it looks like they haven't cleaned the place in quite some time. For that reason alone I wouldn't return. read more

Imagine the shock of walking into what you expect to be a normal suburban strip mall chain store bagel shop but all of a sudden you feel like you've been dropped into a busy Manhattan New York deli. Line out the door. Chaos and excitement with the heavy waft of baked onion, fresh pumpernickel and sliced lox in the air. An abnormal number of large crowded tables for an unremarkable Monday morning. Once I figured out there is a take out line and a dine-in line, we were seated almost immediately. With a drip coffee, I ordered a sesame bagel with nova spread (not lox, which is technically much saltier), and Carnegie brand corned beef hash with two hard scrambled eggs, and a cup of grits. All good - tasty and hearty. To top it off, the server hooked me up with a scoop of their self-proclaimed "legendary" tuna salad. Finely mixed with soft buttery consistency and a wonderful tuna flavor (if that's your thing). Went in for a simple egg and cheese on a bagel. Not only was the bagel sandwich thrown together. My bagel wasn't even toasted like I specified specifically. I took it to go, got home couldn't even eat it. So disappointed I was so looking forward to it. I ended up having to throw it away. I was suggesting Bagel Snack, but she insisted we go to Bagel Works instead, much further away. Allright, sure thing, mom! Place was packed. My mom likes crowds -- she said this place reminded her of New York. Well, the company is surely all about that, even their mustard bottle has "Carnegie" on it. She showed me the breakfast specials menu, which she raved about. She got her sunny side up eggs with bacon, (oops, forgot to add..) grits and a side of sesame bagel. I asked for their delicious poached eggs with a side of pastrami, which was plenty for me. I also opted for sliced tomatoes instead of fries, grits or oatmeal. The everything bagel I got was huge, so I only ate half of it and took the other one home. It was pillowy and a little crunchy. Coffee was very hot, the way I liked it. Yes, I drank it dark. I pushed the creamers and butter packs away, as the cream cheese was enough to spread, then slapped some of the pastrami and tomato slice. I used their mustard over the pastrami for some spice after taking a few bites of it plain, both ways I enjoyed. It was an open faced sammy I enjoyed! My tummy was full and happy. My mom decided to FaceTime my sister Mina while we were waiting for the food we were about to enjoy. She would have loved to join us, but she was fresh out of surgery. It was crowded, yet fast service! Brittany was our server who took care of us. She was very patient with us as I'm hard of hearing and she had no problem repeating things due to the noise overlapping background. I love Bagelworks in Boca for dine in and give it 5 stars for food and service, but not delivery. There is always something wrong with the order. For example pancakes arrived without syrup; an omelette arrived without a bagel and a side; an omelette ordered with egg whites arrived made with regular eggs. I had written a review a while ago but had a poor experience, extra embarrassing as I took .y daughter and granddaughter on a Sunday.After we were seated and ordered, told toaster broken so bagels cant be toasted. We ordered the lox platter for two and extra bagel, tomatoes and onions. My daughter order a dr browns soda and my granddaughter cold brew and I had water.one plater was pefect, other skimpy lox like when you order the special through the week . Dine in | Breakfast | $10-20 This was Wednesday I really don't know how to explain this. Other than facts, just the facts. I was in the restaurant this morning from 8-9:15. Only 2 girls had been working and keeping the customers happy and satisfied. Diana and Alley! When David brought a handful of menus and tossed them near the toaster. He didn't say anything to either of the waitresses, and neither of them saw him toss them. They were in the way. Diana took them and put them under the counter. David noticed they weren't where he tossed them and asked where were they. Alley didn't know what he was referring to. Dianna said she put them under the counter. He began to YELL at her. how do you put them there with coffee on them. She attempted to respond to him, he turned his back and walked Way from her. That was unkind. Thoughtless knowing how short handed the business was this morning. There were a number of ways that could have been handled. Numerous customers at the counter saw it. heard it and had conversations about it. Diana did not deserve to be treated that way. Where is the appreciation for what she had been doing all morning. Why not ask the bus boy who had been standing there to do what needed to be done. The girls were very busy. Diana and Alley was your support this morning. Kindness means much more these days, than it ever has. Appreciate those who show up for you and have your back!! My brother-in-law lives nearby so we went here for breakfast. We have been here in years. Walked in nd the place was packed. Waited almost 25 minutes to be seated. Typical NY style deli with prices on the higher side. My wife ordered the 2+2+2, two eggs, two pancakes, and two strips of bacon, just ok. I tried the FOUR EGG OMELETTE, comes with bagel & butter or cream cheese and choice of potato, grits, tomatoes or oatmeal. Also you get a choice of 3 vegetables. Bagelworks has all the trappings of being a go-to bagel store; however, I am consistently disappointed. Once, I was overcharged (by a lot) for half a pound of Nova. Mistakes happen, but I got a full-on, uncalled-for attitude when I pointed it out. Another time, I ordered a to-go order that came out wrong, but bizarrely, as in, where's the cream cheese? Orders taken over the phone are repeated and accepted as correct. Bagelworks needs a refresh as far as decor. It is seedy looking. Wait staff on the floor are always delightful and helpful, but counter help needs a wake-up call. All said, I am a glutton for punishment. I keep returning. read more

Ordered a cup of chicken soup which arrived lukewarm and a half of a pastrami sandwich on rye. The bread was stale and the pastrami looked like the scraps of a slab. Tiny pieces. Bagelworks, more like BagelJerks. I went in to buy a bagel. There were a few people in front of me. Behind the counter was chaos. One conter guy finished an order of someone who was obviously his friend, he spent time talking to him and slapping him five while we waited. No big deal. But then al three people there to take orders had their backs turned to us and paid us no attention. Then the phone rang and one guy came to answer it. He was an older employee with tattoos all over his arms.He is taking a long time to take the order and it's getting frustrating. We were waiting (me and a decorated Korean War hero in front of me) and he couldn't take our order, but the phone rang and he dropped everything like we were invisible. Note: We were not invisible. After he was taking that order for a few minutes, the other genteman and I were getting increasingly frustrated. I finally said "This is rdiculous." The guy on the phone BARKED at me. We are busy. We got a big Uber order. I said. We were here before the phone rang but you had no problem taking that order. We were here first and are human beings right in front of you. He BARKS again, who are you Uber? I said, No, I'm Keith. I am a customer and you shouldn't talk to me that way. He grumbled at me some more, got back on the phone and I walked out. After a rough week, I was craving some comfort food -- hot soup. Found this place on yelp, so we stopped here for lunch. It was later than usual and they're only open for breakfast and lunch. By the time we got there, they still had an hour left to be open, but had run out of a few things (like their meat sandwiches). That was okay. I started off with a cup of matzoh ball soup. It came in a small bowl with some noodles. The broth was a little watery and in need of salt. But the "ball" was huge. It wasn't bad (I did get a kick out of the guy sitting at the counter who asked what matzoh balls were made of; the waitress couldn't answer him. So I did). After that I had a rye bagel lightly toasted with nova salmon spread. This was good. The portion of cream cheese was large enough to take half home. And I liked the rye bagel enough to get a couple of them to go... My husband had their sliced lox (the salty one) platter. It came with his choice of cream cheese (he had plain), a slice of tomato,and on request, onion and olives. The marinated olives had pits, but were good. A nice size portion of lox. He, too, took some leftovers home. We also bought a piece of crumb cake to go (they were out of babka) . Unfortunately this was so dry and tasteless that we threw it out later. This neighborhood restaurant has its local fans. It's more diner than deli by decor. They were following all protocols but one thing wasn't quite right. They had closed off the small dining room with some tables so everyone waiting for a table and people leaving all had to pass through a narrow area -- too closely -- to get in or out. I'm staying at the hotel across the street while caring for my Dad who is in the hospital. Called at 135 to place a 2 go order for 1 Turkey sandwich. Management wouldn't take my order. Worst customer service. I know that my little review won't make a difference to people still going there, but obviously management doesn't actually give a sh*t about customer service. So my family and I will definitely make sure we never go here again. Management should get some training in customer service. It would have taken me 2 minutes to come in. He would have been clicking out exactly at 2 even if he did take my order. If you like to be treated with good customer service definitely don't eat here. read more
