The service was excellent, the interior was a bit narrow, and the ice cream choices were bountiful. The ice cream itself was good as I got the coffee chocolate chip flavor, but the milkshake heavily depends on what you get. I stopped by Mariposa "Homemade" Ice Cream looking for a little afternoon treat. The shop has good inside seating, including an adorable kid-sized area, and additional outdoor tables for a nice, cool afternoon. The children's area, however, could have been cleaner. When I walked in, there was no one at the counter. When an employee came from the back, he was polite, but more obligatory friendly than genuinely welcoming. I ordered two scoops: Rocky Road and Butter Toffee. I appreciated the simple wooden spoon--it gave the experience of a nostalgic, homemade touch. The portions were fair. The ice cream itself was just okay. The Rocky Road wasn't overly sweet, which I liked, but the chocolate flavor was fairly mild, the nuts tasted a bit stale and soft, and there were very few marshmallows. The Butter Toffee was the bigger disappointment. It tasted more like chocolate chip ice cream with aan artificial toffee-flavored base than true butter toffee. I missed the crunchy chocolate-covered toffee pieces, you typically expect. Overall, it satisfied my craving for ice cream, but the service and flavors didn't stand out enough to make me want to return. I probably won't be back or recommend it over some of the other local ice cream shops. read more

Popped in while walking past and my wife had a sudden sweet tooth. I will state that the consistency and mouthfeel of this ice cream was fantastic! My rating is based on the flavor. I went with two flavors, Mexican Chocolate, and Milk & Cookies. Neither was very flavorful. Normally I would expect a bit of spice with Mexican Chocolate, but there was no spice and really not much of a chocolate flavor to it. The Milk & Cookies was really creamy, but again not much flavor. My wife tried mine and also stated that it did not have much flavor. I felt that hers did not either but I cannot remember what flavors she went with. read more

Small ice cream shop located in a strip mall. The place seemed to be family owned. The guy behind the counter was nice. They had a fish tank in the store which was a bonus for me because I'm a fish aficionado! The ice cream flavors were soooo good! I tried Heath butter toffee, Nutella and coffee and cookies. I landed on a split scoop of Heath butter toffee and coffee and cookies and topped it off with hot fudge. YUM!! This location is conveniently located near the Promenade mall in the same complex as San Diego County Credit Union and Olive Garden. One of the owners is often there serving ice cream as well and she is truly the sweetest, always wearing a warm smile and happy to suggest anything new on the menu. One of my favorite things about this place is they have just about any flavor larger ice cream shops do however it is all made fresh with natural ingredients and no added dyes. In comparison to other retailers I would also add that this is a much more affordable option than most alternative ice cream shops in the surrounding Temecula area. I ordered three scoops, tried the Mexican chocolate, cookie dough and apple pie ice creams, all were very good, but my fave was the Me Ivan Chocolate.
