I've been coming here for years. The food is amazing my staple are the fish tacos. Even the caldo 7 mares is really good. You can never go wrong. Family owned the owner is super nice and very welcoming.

Was very disappointed in the quality of the food. This restaurant is known for its sea food and the shrimp cocktail was tasteless and made with frozen limp shrimp and over priced at $17. The "Surf and Turf" combination plate was also awful. For $17 I expected better food and the portions were very small. I wouldn't buy the ceviche either.

    Flavours from Mexico.

Mariscoco's Culiacan is one of those places that go back to the flavors of Mexico. I visit the place accompanied by a great friend who lives in the area and let me tell you... is awesome!. Their products are really fresh, even fresher than in Mexico. They have a wide variety of dishes. 100% recommended to visit them if you are in Coachella.

    a table full of food

My encanto toda mi experiencia comiendo aquí. La comida estaba rica y fresca. Si lo recomiendo.

I threw everything away of how disgusting it was and old.

Horrible!!! If I could give it a zero I would, ZERO stars. I never write reviews but the fact that the manager/owner was so rude he made me do this. I ordered a charola botana, aguachiles, and 3 asada tacos. The shrimp on the aguachiles tasted like old food that was sitting on the fridge for days and had absolutely no flavor!!... the Charola had almeja and it was old canned almeja and smelled, and the tacos were horrible and tasted stale and old. When I called them to bring it to their attention, the manager got mad when I told him the shrimp was and tasted like fridge,he replied with a "what does the fridge taste like?" trying to act smart so I described it to him and he kept on being rude. I told him I was going to take the food back so he could have a taste but I figured not to do so since I knew he was going to deny it so I preferred not to waste my time and energy arguing with someone like that. I threw all the food away I poured the aguachiles inside of the charola so they a get a better flavor. Places like this shouldn't even be open! Threw away 100$ worth of food

    Disgusting

First time here, the service was alright. The server wasn't too friendly. I ordered the green aguachiles which are about $20 and this is what I got. The shrimp isn't even cleaned and this is literally how it was served. I hadn't even touched the plate to take a picture. It looks like they gave me the left over of an avocado and it just didn't look appetizing. Very lazy. I asked if I could return them and order something else but they said no that I had to pay for them and that they only clean the shrimp if they have time. I did give them a chance but they were not good. The sauce was too lemony. NEVER GOING BACK. Very disappointed because in the pictures the food looks delicious but nope!!! Even spoke with the "owner" Horrible service. Very unprofessional

My husband and I went to the doctors and we yelped this restaurant because it was close to dinner time and we were hungry. This place was not a disappointment. The food was excellent. I would off given it five stars but the only thing was I wish the server could speak English. She didn't come and checked on us because I think she did not feel comfortable trying to talk to my husband and me. But other then that small hiccup the food was excellent. We will be back.

    This was amazing, seafood heaven

This places was amazing!!! Seafood was delicious and service was on point! Atmosphere was fun and relaxing. Place was clean and had a very comfortable feeling. Seafood was fresh and delicious... I know I said delicious twice but that is how good it was. Got the torre Roka and it was tower of seafood heaven.

They had these cheap old tables and plastic plates. This was no hidden gem. It looked like an old truck stop from the 80s. The art on the walls was kind of cool and indicative of a Mexican restaurant. They didn't carry Jarritos. I asked for pineapple. They said no, but later I found out they had pineapple agua fresca . The waitress should have told me. My niece had chicken nuggets, but they had no barbecue sauce. The carnitas tacos weren't shredded and they had absolutely No flavor whatsoever. My tacos fell apart too. Their tortillas are weak. Luckily they had lemon, salt and Tapatio. They did start with complementary chips and salsa, which was a nice surprise. They didn't have any breakfast burritos We had to wait forever for them to bring our check, they never brought it and we had to walk all the way up to the front to ask about payment.

Even after I kindly asked if they could just take it out our check after taking a sip of it to try it, the server immediately became hostile and said that why would they take it back if I had tried it already. Then we asked to speak to the manager since she couldn't help us and she told us the cooks were the managers and that they extremely angry at us and at her for me not liking the food and asking if they could please just take it out of our check. Even worse than that, we saw cockroaches all over their bathroom!!! 0/10 save ur $$$$ most unprofessional & horrible restaurant experience ever. :(

The Real Deal: Like Sunday at Tio's…read more If you're looking for a "fusion" taco with micro-greens and a side of existential dread, keep driving. But if you want a meal that feels like a warm hug from a relative who's slightly disappointed you haven't visited more often, welcome to Jalisco Restaurant in Coachella. The Atmosphere: Family Values & Smoke Walking into Jalisco isn't like entering a business; it's like walking into Tio JP's backyard. That nostalgic aroma of hard work and seasoned grills immediately greets you. It's a throwback to being a kid, watching your tios hover over the fire, treating every flip of the meat like a sacred ritual. There's no "new-age hype" here--just the perfected craft of a family that knows exactly what they're doing. The Heavy Hitters: Tripas & Cabeza Whether you're a "seasoned veteran" of Mexican street food or a nervous newbie, you have to commit to the Tripas and Cabeza. The Texture: The Tripas are cleaned and cooked to that elusive, crispy-yet-tender perfection. The Vessel: Whether you tuck them into a taco or go big with a burrito, it's a masterclass in traditional cooking. The GOAT (Literally): The Birria Let's get one thing straight: most places are out here serving "beef seasoned with birria spices" and calling it a day. Don't be fooled. This is the real deal. We're talking authentic goat meat, slow-cooked using the De La Torre family recipe straight from Jalisco. It's rich, it's tender, and it carries the weight of generations. It's the kind of flavor you can't replicate with a "modern twist." The Refreshment: Homemade Chavelas You're going to need something to wash down that Menudo or those wet burritos. Their homemade Chavela recipe is the MVP here. For the Modelo Negro fans: It adds a dark, savory depth. For the Michelob Ultra drinkers: It gives that crisp finish a spicy, citrus kick. The Verdict Jalisco Restaurant is one of the valley's originals for a reason. It's honest food for people who respect the process. In a world of trendy "reimagined" Mexican food, Jalisco reminds us that the original recipes never needed fixing in the first place. Go for the food, stay because you feel like family.

*Mi Casa es Su Casa*…read more My buddy had a small casual bday get-together with his family and invited me to join the celebration. I saw all the favorable reviews on Yelp and was looking forward to my first visit at Casa Mendoza. Very chill & lively family owned Mexican joint in Old Town LQ. The place was kinda busy @6:30pm on Hump Night ~~ always a great sign when I see this. Felt more like a Sunday Evening. It took an hour to receive our meals. Ordered @6:45 arrived @7:45pm. Good thing the Chimichanga & Gauc apps arrived pretty quickly. The Gauc was Excellente. All their food was very good. But all our meals arrived cold/lukewarm. Took forever to receive our food and we knew for a fact it's because all our plates sat a while until we were served. The actual plates weren't even warm and the sizzling fajitas had sizzled out and lost its dazzle. Because it was still 95 degrees when dinner was finally served, our lukewarm meals were doable on a hot night. Everyone did enjoy their meals tho. I was very pleased with my Mahi Mahi in Garlic Butter Sauce. The refried beans were outstanding. The rice very good...and I made tacos with the 3 corn tortillas. But would have enjoyed it even more had all the food been a little warmer. I stuck with H2O but all margarita drinkers said their drinks were good and hit the spot on a warm night. The service in general was also inconsistent for our small party of 8. The Birthday Boy was a little frustrated and got up a few times from his throne seeking assistance -- such as missing tortillas for meals, water refills, extra napkins. We even had to wait longer than anticipated for them to acknowledge the bday boy with a celebratory bday song & sombrero...and the fried ice cream, which didn't include a candle. Tho we all enjoyed ourselves and time together...a 2 hour dinner at a Mexican joint on a Wednesday night wasn't what we anticipated. Especially with one restless 7 year old ;-) But everyone working at Casa Mendoza is very friendly with great attitudes. Hostess team, waiters, servers & runners too. So that made up for the spotty service, just a little bit. Since I'm closer to the other Casa Mendoza in Palm Desert, I'd go there in the future with my wife, and order the exact same thing. But hope for much better service and warmer food.
