I'm extremely disappointed writing this because this has always been one of my favorite restaurants. On Super Bowl Sunday (02/08), I placed an order and when I got home, I realized that half of the order was missing. I live far from the restaurant, so going back wasn't an option. I immediately called and spoke with a manager named Thalia. She apologized and explained that there were two new employees working and that it was very busy. She assured me that she would process a refund right away. After several days passed and I didn't see the refund, I called again. I was told it can take up to 7 business days. We are now on day 9, and I still have not received the refund. It's extremely frustrating to have to repeatedly follow up to get refunded for food I never received. I understand that mistakes happen, especially on busy days, but following through on a promised refund should not require this much effort from a customer. Unfortunately, if this isn't resolved immediately, I will have to dispute the charge with my bank. This experience has been very disappointing and has made me reconsider returning in the future. read more

I'm a regular customer and visit this seafood and sushi restaurant several times a month. I consistently order the baked scallop roll with tuna instead of California roll, a modification that has been accommodated for me many times in the past. On my most recent visit, I was told they've "never done that," which felt like gaslighting, especially when you're ordering the same item the same way over a long period of time. I was then told they "can't put raw fish in the oven," which is confusing given that baked sushi rolls commonly contain raw fish prior to cooking, and this exact modification has been done here before. If there has been a policy change, that's completely fine. But it needs to be communicated clearly and consistently. Making loyal customers feel like they're making things up is not acceptable. Consistency and respect matter, especially at a restaurant that relies on repeat business. I hope management addresses this. read more

Ridiculously overpriced for the portions you receive. They moved locations and it's okay but these prices are just NOT worth it. You're better off going elsewhere plenty to choose from. read more

First time reviewing Mariscos El Chuy the crazy thing about it is, that I've been coming here for years. These are my favorite mariscos they are very delicious, and always fresh and the plates come with great portions. I drive out from the San Fernando Valley just to come and eat here. They have 3 locations now and it's a family owned restaurant. The owner Chuy and his daughter Mindy are very welcoming they make you feel right at home. They are in a new location. The good thing is, they just moved across the street. They have live music, tv's to watch the dodgers games and football along with any other sports. This is a bomb mariscos restaurant. It gets packed because of how popular this spot is. Service was good. The sushi platter was perfect for my group to dig in, highly recommend. So much flavor in the sushi. They have a good amount of options to choose from. The micheladas are really good and refreshing. Their mojarra frita was delicious. We were stuffed and the sushi platter really isn't very expensive with how much they give you. This spot is worth going out of the way to. Give it a try and you won't regret it. read more

Chose this place to "check out" a new Mariscos spot in the area for my convenience. I always like to drive away from my current establishment. Parking was confusing but let me just clear the air by saying that the lot next to them (that looks like a clinic) is welcome for you to park there. Moving forward, I walked in and waited for a bit "to be seated" as we all should (by the way) and the greeter/waiter by the name of JR greeted me and offered me a counter spot for myself or the booth he saw me eyeing. He didnt make a face or gesture and invited me to sit there. Once i sat, my experience began. Jr was so attentive with me and everyone else, like on the dot. He'd be checking a table out and ill reach in for a request and he would fulfill it right away! His multitasking skills were amazing. I wanted to actually hire him as the manager that i personally am lol. Tostada de ceviche was great! Right portion for the price. The michelada did its thing (ordering a michi can be scary cus some places dont get it right) and man truthfully im here today to give him the review he deserves. I'm so sad. This has been my go to Nexican Sushi for I think going on almost 10 years and WTF. BRING BACK THE OLD CHEF! or maybe he was off for the 3day weekend?&%@! I wanted to like this place based on the reviews, but they failed me. The food was ok enough to eat but it lacked so much flavor. When we went to pick up our food, the cashiers were rude. Then we get home and we were missing part of our order. The aguachiles we ordered were undercooked. The caldo de camarón y pulpo lacked depth. The mojarra wasnt nice and crispy like they typically are. Not to mention it was $20+ and didn't come with beans and rice. The sushi was OK, but it isn't the best. Based on my experience this place is overpriced for the quality. I don't understand how this place has the reviews it has. I won't ever be coming back. read more

We been coming here for a long time its really delicious and most of waiters and waitress are friendly. The only thing they need to improve is seating the customers , we went and they took so long on giving us a table and the worst part is that they seems they ignore you standing there and they have table available but I don't know why they don't atleast greet you or let you know they will help you , other than that the rest is good. First impression: Looked unfinished on the decor. They just moved location, to where they are now. So, I'll give them a pass this time around. Parking sucked. The location doesn't have its own parking. So you're left to park on the Boulevard. Parking is kinda sketchy with all the homeless around. Food: The food was good. I tried a Marlin taco, a breaded fish taco, Philly roll. My wife had a Dragon roll, and spicy Tuna roll. My two daughters had the Tres Mariscos soup and a basic burger. We were all satisfied with our portions. Ambient sound: It was kinda loud due to it being busy. Corridors tumbados is all they played on the TV while we were there. I'm not a fan of that music. I'd be nice if they mixed it up with Norteñas, rancherras, or even mariachi. We did get approached by a traveling Norteño group that asked everyone if they'd like any dedication. We asked for two song which were performed in front of us. Pricing may vary per song if they show up while there. Pricing: The food was priced far. The menu is easily accessed via a QR code on every table. I'm sure it's online as well. Service: We were sat within a minute. Our server was nice and well presented. Greeted us with a smile. I love the food and sushi here been coming for a while only had 1bad experience with the service. However I dined in 11/9 party of 8. 6 adults and 2 kids. We got sat right by the entrance window blowing etc. not preferred seating I believe Uncomfortable. When it was time for the bill I noticed it had 20% added to the bill which I understand large party, I'm aware. I'm also aware that the guest needs to be notified or it has to be Noted/posted on premises. Host stand or the entrance. It wasn't mentioned verbally either there was a $55 dollar tip added mind you my little ones didn't even order a full meal they got a side of fries for $7 dollars... Plus a 4% CC charge fee on top of that WHAT REALLY TRIGGERED ME WAS THAT AS A SERVER YOUR AWARE THAT THE TIP IS INCLUDED. TELL ME WHY THE SERVER HAD THE AUDACITY TO SWIPE OUR PAYMENT AND HAND US THE DEVICE ASKING FOR ANOTHER TIP.. like wtf. R you serious half their clientele are Spanish speakers imagine how many people don't realize they are double tipping.. smh read more

The waitress was RUDE my husband went in to place a to go order and was asking the lady in the front (short dark skinned lady ) questions about the food and menu and she has the WORST attitude. It was our first time here and she was just plain rude . We ordered the cóctel de camarón and it wasn't good it had no flavor bland . We also orders some gavia de camarón and they were ok nothing out of this world . They are better marisco places around. Please teach the rude lady some customer service skills. This is not your average Mexican Restaurant!!! A friend told me about this place and mentioned that their specialty was sushi. I was surprised and excited to visit and see for myself. The restaurant was small and there is only street parking but easy to find a spot. The staff was courteous and welcoming and the place was clean and neat. We ordered the sushi, cerviche, the fried fish and shrimp tacos. They definitely know their seafood and everything was delicious. The fish and tacos were flavorful and tender, moist and not dry so easily something I would recommend. The cerviche was tasty and delicious, so savory and satisfying! The sushi was a whole different world! So many flavors and textures! I had the Dodger Roll which was piled high with crab meat inside and on top. The rice really held together, the outside was fried and added some crunch to the sushi. There were so many flavors, the spicy and sweet, such bold flavors made it a wonderful experience. The sushi was fresh and presented nicely. I would highly recommend this place to anyone, there are two other locations, one in Paramount. read more

I do recommend this place just because of the music. The food is not that good and I think a little overpriced, I ordered a taco de camarón and marlin and the taco de camarón was very dry it doesn't come with salsa or anything, I asked if they had some kind of salsa for it and she said they only had spicy mayo that they used for the sushi. The salsa for the chips had so much lemon it was bitter sour not spicy at all. My husband ordered a botana mixta and something in it didn't taste fresh it had a weird flavor, there's no tostadas or avocado. The Ambiance was nice, we were hyped cause we had just left a SoFi Game and we were able to keep the vibes here. The seating area is a bit small but luckily all of us (party of10) was sat right away in the bar area within 5min. Then got our orders asap . Food came fast and food WAS BOMB AFFF! My ceviche was bomb had a nice bomb spice to it, lots of lime not stingy, everything cooked to a perfection! It had Pulpo and that was bomb! None of that chewy funky ass pulpo! The prices are supper overpriced! Definitely left me baffled, especially since it's $20 for just 1 tostada. The sushi is pretty average at about $20. And the sushi I got was so worth it! It was absolutely delicious! The service is slow, so order ahead! If you are getting something that's not hot though, then you'll be ok! We ate at Mariscos El Chuy 2 a few weeks ago and was beyond shocked when I saw the receipt. They charge for refills and that is NOT disclosed on the menu and they charged 2 adults and 3 children an automatic gratuity fee. I went home and dissected the menu online. It clearly stated that gratuity is for 5 or more adults. I guess my 3 children under the age of 10 are considered adults to them. Very disappointed in them, to charge so much to customers that are in their restaurant to support. Never again going to them or recommend them. read more

This is the place to go if you are craving a michelada or ceviche! They have various ceviche flavors that are all super fresh and flavorful. Michelada is also HUGE and you can pick a variety of beers. There can be quite a wait, but it's definitely worth it. read more
