Crazy Rock'N Sushi is officially one of my go-to sushi spots! The prices are super reasonable, the portions are great, and everything we tried was fresh and flavorful. I ordered the Hot Night Roll and customized it because of my avocado allergy. It normally comes with shrimp tempura, crabmeat, avocado, and cucumber inside, then spicy tuna, crunch, unagi sauce, and spicy mayo on top. I removed the avocado and spicy mayo and added extra eel sauce instead--10/10, no regrets! The flavors came together perfectly, and the eel sauce really made the roll. We also ordered the chicken meatballs and orange chicken, and both were delicious. My friend got the salmon baked roll and couldn't stop talking about how good it was. It has been a while since we have been here to dine or pick up food to eat at home. Our family used to dine here regularly and or order food from here for some family event celebrations. Today, we all gathered as a family to have a dinner at the house for my wife's birthday and our grownup children requested us to order food from here. I have noticed that a lot of the food we ordered and ate, which we have had before have really changed in quality and leveled down in terms of taste and flavors. Definitely went down from how we remember them from before. I ordered some crunch rolls and yellowtail collar and I am definitely sure they were not fresh. The yellowtail collar was hard to bite into and chew and surely pales compared to tjaoe that can be ordered from other Japanese restaurants within gardena. The crunch rolls was dry and lacked good taste and flavor and the salmon in it seemed to have turned powdery in the mouth once I started chewing them. The other members of the family who ordered other items all dis not finish their foods, but did not tell me why. But I'm guessing they did not really like them so I just had to throw them all away after they left. We ordered almost $300 worth of food tonight so next time we do this, we would probably be better off ordering from a lot of other better and authentic Japanese restaurants around gardena where we know food and ingredients are much fresh and delicious, unless Crazy Rock n Sushi step up their game again. read more

The food was amazing. The service was very quick. We tried everything from the albacore sashimi, to the meat skewers, sushi; and alcoholic beverages. The best sushi roll we had was the 911 due to the level of slickness. The albacore sashimi was very tasty. The skewers were perfectly cooked; especially the beef one. I liked the soft shell crab roll, it was delicious. Now the downfall are the alcoholic drinks. They taste very sugary and not an ounce of alcohol. The yuzu drink doesn't taste like yuzu or citrus at all. There's plenty of parking since it's a rather small plaza. The wait is a killer but worth the wait. The vibe was dope, the music should be a bit louder for my liking. Other than that, best service ever; just clear the tables faster. read more

Came here for lunch after arriving from LAX; it was on the way home and had good reviews. It's in a little strip mall with a large parking lot. Staff were friendly and greeted us when we came in. While there were a few people I think we just missed the lunch rush and were seated right away. Inside was nicely decorated in Japanese theme and tables were spaced enough between patrons. I liked that there was a button on the table to call the server if you needed something. Food was really albeit a little expensive. Place settings were nicely presented. We ordered an iced matcha and some hot green tea. Started off with a couple of miso soups, followed by a couple of rolls to share. We also got 2 build your own bentos where we got more rolls, tempura, salad, katsu, and Takoyaki. The family enjoyed their meal and it was great meal to start our vacation. Dropped in for an early dinner with my wife. We were seated right away in a booth. We started with sharing a tall Sapporo. The ice cold beer hit thd spot on this hot day. We wanted to stay away from raw salmon, so we ordered a Tiger tail roll and a crunchy roll without the crunchy stuff on the top. We also ordered sunomono salad with octopus to start. Thd sunomono salad was good, but they still use regular cucumbers with the seeds removed. They still slice the cucumber too thick despite me mentioning on my Yelp reviews and even mentioned to our server in the past. The Tiger tail roll was good. The crunchy roll however missed the mark. The shrimp tempura on the inside seemed like it was old and sitting around for hours. There was no crisp to the shrimp tempura which defeated the purpose of getting shrimp tempura. Service was excellent and I just wish they would play Japanese music in the background, after all we are in a sushi restaurant. This spot has become our go to whenever we want sushi to take back to the office for lunch. Even when everything is packed to go, the sushi stays surprisingly fresh and never feels soggy or rushed. My usual order is the spider roll; it's always flavorful and loaded with big pieces of fried soft-shell crab, which is really what makes it stand out. I also like their Mexican roll, which is basically a spicy twist on a California roll, but they do it well and it always hits the spot. I recently tried their mushroom miso soup for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. It had a light flavor than and was perfect on a cooler day. I've also sampled some of the items that come with their bento boxes, like the teriyaki chicken, beef, salmon, and the katsu. Those options are decent but nothing memorable. Personally, I think the sushi rolls are where they shine, so that's what I'll keep sticking to. This has quickly become one of favorite spots for sushi. The staff is super friendly as always and I really can't say that we've had any bad dishes here. Spicy rolls are my favorite, their warm Diablo rolls are really good as well. And their popcorn shrimp and Gyoza are in point. Too bad I'm still learning to use chop sticks cuz I really look stupid eating lol. My absolute favorite dishes are the Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice and the Albacore Crispy Onion. The only issues I had were we didn't specify which beer size which was never confirmed and we ended up with all Large beers when we wanted small. Luckily they let us send one back. I've been down this part of Redondo Beach Bl. countless times, but I just happened to notice this place on my way to my work meeting so I decided to try it during my lunch break. I was pleasantly surprised. The rainbow roll and caterpillar roll were very good and it was an even nicer surprise to see that I was charged for a "buy one, get one 50% off" special. The menu seemed pretty extensive as I quickly perused the pages for my takeout order. As I was waiting, I went to Aldi in the same center to browse. One of my favorite sushi spots in the South Bay. This place is on the way home way for me. I stopped by one early morning when they were 20 mins past opening time. I ordered for to-go and ordered their happy hour special buy one special roll, get one 50% off. I ordered a rainbow roll and red rose roll. Both were delicious. I payed $28 for both rolls. I only had to wait 15 minutes for my order to be ready. It's fairly empty when you arrive right when they open. There is a good amount of seating and it does look cozy for a sushi place. If you're in the area, CRS is a good choice...provided the wait isn't long. At 330pm we had a 30 minute wait. The place is small, but the booths and tables are roomy - there just aren't many of them. Great cozy ambiance, clean and though it's small, and the place was packed, it did not feel crowded. We could easily walk in the aisles. Friendly service and swift too. I don't think there was more than a 4 minute wait for any of our choices to arrive at the table. Although the menu indicates they have Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, they had neither on this night. The server mentioned they had Sauvignon Blanc, but served me Cabernet Sauvignon. I called this out - he offered to bring me something else, I saved him time and consumed the wine that wasn't exactly great. The beer options are minimal. The Mr. enjoyed his hot sake x 2. I chowed down a plate of garlic green beans. I could have eaten another plate of these. So yummy. Mixed tempura was okay, though the veggie pieces were too large to dip into the paper cup of tentsuyu. A knife would have been useful, or better yet, the cook could have cut the pieces in half. And the paper cup of dipping sauce did nothing for aesthetics. His sushi was lovely, in his words "not bad". He ordered his favorites, including an, ahem, California roll. I reminded him that imitation crab isn't his fav, but he so loves the creamy "salad" inside a rice roll doused in soy and wasabi. I always get a laugh at those antics. California roll was, not bad - I ate 2 sections. Very easy to find and plenty of parking, but I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the condition of the parking lot. It's busy, cars are constantly moving into and out of spaces, so be patient. There's an enclosed dumpster smack in the middle of the lot and about 20 feet from the front door of CRS. Someone either failed to toss their trash properly, or the dumpster was full and unfortunately, there was a good amount of trash strewn around the enclosure - one had to step over or walk around to avoid the mess. The amount of trash took up 1 parking space. It's an eyesore and hopefully not an indication of the management company. CRS is worth a visit for a sushi fix, the menu has a nice variety for most. It's a bit out of our way, so unless we're in the area, we'd likely opt for something closer to home. read more

He laid out the progression of dishes with care and thoughtfulness, explaining each piece and making sure the timing and flow felt natural. From buttery toro to melt-in-your-mouth uni, every bite was fresh and beautifully plated.
