Came here for the first time today. The sushi was pretty good, nothing crazy but definitely enjoyed it. What stood out the most was the customer service. Keith was our server and he was super friendly from the moment we sat down. Since it was our first time here, he helped us with the menu and gave us some recommendations. He was patient, checked on us often, and made sure everything was good. Not just Keith, all of the staff we interacted with were really nice and welcoming. Came here for lunch after arriving from LAX; it was on the way home and had good reviews. It's in a little strip mall with a large parking lot. Staff were friendly and greeted us when we came in. While there were a few people I think we just missed the lunch rush and were seated right away. Inside was nicely decorated in Japanese theme and tables were spaced enough between patrons. I liked that there was a button on the table to call the server if you needed something. Food was really albeit a little expensive. Place settings were nicely presented. We ordered an iced matcha and some hot green tea. Started off with a couple of miso soups, followed by a couple of rolls to share. We also got 2 build your own bentos where we got more rolls, tempura, salad, katsu, and Takoyaki. The family enjoyed their meal and it was great meal to start our vacation. This is my favorite restaurant in Gardena. The interior is beautiful, the food is always delicious, and the staff are kind and friendly. The prices are reasonable too. My absolute favorite dishes are the Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice and the Albacore Crispy Onion. This spot has become our go to whenever we want sushi to take back to the office for lunch. Even when everything is packed to go, the sushi stays surprisingly fresh and never feels soggy or rushed. My usual order is the spider roll; it's always flavorful and loaded with big pieces of fried soft-shell crab, which is really what makes it stand out. I also like their Mexican roll, which is basically a spicy twist on a California roll, but they do it well and it always hits the spot. I recently tried their mushroom miso soup for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. It had a light flavor than and was perfect on a cooler day. I've also sampled some of the items that come with their bento boxes, like the teriyaki chicken, beef, salmon, and the katsu. Those options are decent but nothing memorable. Personally, I think the sushi rolls are where they shine, so that's what I'll keep sticking to. I've been down this part of Redondo Beach Bl. countless times, but I just happened to notice this place on my way to my work meeting so I decided to try it during my lunch break. I was pleasantly surprised. The rainbow roll and caterpillar roll were very good and it was an even nicer surprise to see that I was charged for a "buy one, get one 50% off" special. The menu seemed pretty extensive as I quickly perused the pages for my takeout order. As I was waiting, I went to Aldi in the same center to browse. This has quickly become one of favorite spots for sushi. The staff is super friendly as always and I really can't say that we've had any bad dishes here. Spicy rolls are my favorite, their warm Diablo rolls are really good as well. And their popcorn shrimp and Gyoza are in point. Honestly the sushi was great. We got the boat and it came out pretty fast. The only issues I had were we didn't specify which beer size which was never confirmed and we ended up with all Large beers when we wanted small. Luckily they let us send one back. They also do not allow outside drinks! which is something to note because we got drinks because of the wait time. The sushi tho fantastic. One of my favorite sushi spots in the South Bay. This place is on the way home way for me. I stopped by one early morning when they were 20 mins past opening time. I ordered for to-go and ordered their happy hour special buy one special roll, get one 50% off. I ordered a rainbow roll and red rose roll. Both were delicious. I payed $28 for both rolls. I only had to wait 15 minutes for my order to be ready. It's fairly empty when you arrive right when they open. There is a good amount of seating and it does look cozy for a sushi place. If you're in the area, CRS is a good choice...provided the wait isn't long. At 330pm we had a 30 minute wait. The place is small, but the booths and tables are roomy - there just aren't many of them. Great cozy ambiance, clean and though it's small, and the place was packed, it did not feel crowded. We could easily walk in the aisles. Friendly service and swift too. I don't think there was more than a 4 minute wait for any of our choices to arrive at the table. Although the menu indicates they have Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, they had neither on this night. The server mentioned they had Sauvignon Blanc, but served me Cabernet Sauvignon. I called this out - he offered to bring me something else, I saved him time and consumed the wine that wasn't exactly great. The beer options are minimal. The Mr. enjoyed his hot sake x 2. I chowed down a plate of garlic green beans. I could have eaten another plate of these. So yummy. Mixed tempura was okay, though the veggie pieces were too large to dip into the paper cup of tentsuyu. A knife would have been useful, or better yet, the cook could have cut the pieces in half. And the paper cup of dipping sauce did nothing for aesthetics. His sushi was lovely, in his words "not bad". He ordered his favorites, including an, ahem, California roll. I reminded him that imitation crab isn't his fav, but he so loves the creamy "salad" inside a rice roll doused in soy and wasabi. I always get a laugh at those antics. California roll was, not bad - I ate 2 sections. Very easy to find and plenty of parking, but I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the condition of the parking lot. It's busy, cars are constantly moving into and out of spaces, so be patient. There's an enclosed dumpster smack in the middle of the lot and about 20 feet from the front door of CRS. Someone either failed to toss their trash properly, or the dumpster was full and unfortunately, there was a good amount of trash strewn around the enclosure - one had to step over or walk around to avoid the mess. The amount of trash took up 1 parking space. It's an eyesore and hopefully not an indication of the management company. CRS is worth a visit for a sushi fix, the menu has a nice variety for most. It's a bit out of our way, so unless we're in the area, we'd likely opt for something closer to home. read more

He laid out the progression of dishes with care and thoughtfulness, explaining each piece and making sure the timing and flow felt natural. From buttery toro to melt-in-your-mouth uni, every bite was fresh and beautifully plated. He clearly knows how to read the room -- adjusting portions, making recommendations, and never letting our drinks run dry. This place gets busy, and for good reason. The sushi is excellent, the prices are more than fair for the quality, and Kenny's service elevated the entire experience. This place was good the first 2 times I visited about 2 years ago so I brought my family here. This is probably some of the worst service I've ever experienced, which is huge for someone who eats out nearly every other day, and will likely never return again. Not only were they inattentive, but unresponsive too. We were faced with unwelcome attitudes and weren't checked up on at all throughout our hour-long lunch. Only one guy had a very positive demeanor when asking us what drinks we'd like, but never saw him again afterwards. The place was nearly empty when we were seated to about half an hour in. Although I understand that service is slower when places are busier, we waited over 15 minutes for our check to be picked up despite watching at least 2 people standing around and looking around the restaurant frequently, doing nothing. After waiting for 10 minutes, we decided to use the ring button at the table, verbally call out for assistance, and wave our hands to grab attention for them to look over then look away multiple times after making eye contact. After the first ring, they went to look at the origin of the ring for assistance, then ignored it. Even after all our attempts, it took a while for them to actually decide to come over to just take the check. There wasn't any justifiable reason for this, as our only interactions throughout our meal were asking for one more wasabi serving (total of 2 for four people) and a new saucer to replace a dirty one which I asked for politely. This was pretty early in the day too as they had just opened less than 2 hours prior. Would suggest you pay attention to the tip calculations as well. Although we usually tip based on the final total, the calculations claim to be percentages based on the pre-tax total but are nearly double what it claims to be. The dishes weren't the cleanest at newly set up tables, and the food was nothing to praise either. The rolls have a decent portion of fish, but were made poorly, falling apart at the lightest touch. The flavor combinations of sauce is lacking and overall just nothing like it used to be (we tried 6 different rolls and only 1-2 were really enjoyable). The thai tea is made with an instant powder - don't get it. It's not mixed properly and all settles to the bottom immediately. For $6, just go somewhere else and get decent drinks. Parking is fine, lot is shared with Aldi and a few other spots but not difficult at all. We came here because our first choice roll spot was closed but wish we went somewhere else instead. A nice couple came in and put their name on the waitlist at that time. 20 minutes goes by, and they go in first after 4 parties went ahead of us--they were not on the wait list. I go in to finally say what the hold up us, and they had the audacity to say that they were all on the wait list. There is a live waitlist and the couple that waited only 10 minutes after putting their name on the waitlist came in first.
