If you go for lunch definitely get the Pick 3 Bento Box (Lunch) special! It is a lot of food lol. The teriyaki beef was tender and my miso soup warmed my soul! The fried shrimp needed alittle more flavor but dipped in the sauce it was yummy! Our server gave great recommendations and our food came out quick and hot! The restaurant was relaxing and good start to my LA trip! I need to try more sushi next time I visit!

I apologize, I can not remember what rolls I ordered. I know one had yellowtail. Which to me was one of the best. But they have many combinations. I will be back. I definitely recommend.

The food was amazing. The service was very quick. We tried everything from the albacore sashimi, to the meat skewers, sushi; and alcoholic beverages. The best sushi roll we had was the 911 due to the level of slickness. The albacore sashimi was very tasty. The skewers were perfectly cooked; especially the beef one. I liked the soft shell crab roll, it was delicious. Now the downfall are the alcoholic drinks. They taste very sugary and not an ounce of alcohol. The yuzu drink doesn't taste like yuzu or citrus at all. There's plenty of parking since it's a rather small plaza. The wait is a killer but worth the wait. The vibe was dope, the music should be a bit louder for my liking. Other than that, best service ever; just clear the tables faster.

Came here for lunch after arriving from LAX; it was on the way home and had good reviews. It's in a little strip mall with a large parking lot. Staff were friendly and greeted us when we came in. While there were a few people I think we just missed the lunch rush and were seated right away. Inside was nicely decorated in Japanese theme and tables were spaced enough between patrons. I liked that there was a button on the table to call the server if you needed something. Food was really albeit a little expensive. Place settings were nicely presented. We ordered an iced matcha and some hot green tea. Started off with a couple of miso soups, followed by a couple of rolls to share. We also got 2 build your own bentos where we got more rolls, tempura, salad, katsu, and Takoyaki. The family enjoyed their meal and it was great meal to start our vacation. Staff were friendly and the place had nice decor. Despite the number of patrons it was not loud. Restrooms were clean.

Dropped in for an early dinner with my wife. We were seated right away in a booth. We started with sharing a tall Sapporo. The ice cold beer hit thd spot on this hot day. We wanted to stay away from raw salmon, so we ordered a Tiger tail roll and a crunchy roll without the crunchy stuff on the top. We also ordered sunomono salad with octopus to start. Thd sunomono salad was good, but they still use regular cucumbers with the seeds removed. They still slice the cucumber too thick despite me mentioning on my Yelp reviews and even mentioned to our server in the past. The Tiger tail roll was good. The crunchy roll however missed the mark. The shrimp tempura on the inside seemed like it was old and sitting around for hours. There was no crisp to the shrimp tempura which defeated the purpose of getting shrimp tempura. Service was excellent and I just wish they would play Japanese music in the background, after all we are in a sushi restaurant. I had to dock them 2 stars because of the poor quality shrimp tempura.

This spot has become our go to whenever we want sushi to take back to the office for lunch. Even when everything is packed to go, the sushi stays surprisingly fresh and never feels soggy or rushed. My usual order is the spider roll; it's always flavorful and loaded with big pieces of fried soft-shell crab, which is really what makes it stand out. I also like their Mexican roll, which is basically a spicy twist on a California roll, but they do it well and it always hits the spot. I recently tried their mushroom miso soup for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. It had a light flavor than and was perfect on a cooler day. I've also sampled some of the items that come with their bento boxes, like the teriyaki chicken, beef, salmon, and the katsu. Those options are decent but nothing memorable. Personally, I think the sushi rolls are where they shine, so that's what I'll keep sticking to. Overall, it's a reliable spot for fresh, tasty sushi, especially if you need something quick and consistent for lunch.

Amazing service here! They always serve us so fast and they're always so attentive! Always such yummy sushi!

Honestly the sushi was great. We got the boat and it came out pretty fast. The only issues I had were we didn't specify which beer size which was never confirmed and we ended up with all Large beers when we wanted small. Luckily they let us send one back. They also do not allow outside drinks! which is something to note because we got drinks because of the wait time. The sushi tho fantastic. The place is actually really well decorated and cozy as well.

The sushi is good, if raw sushi is your jam. The host wasn't the nicest greeter, however the waiters were very friendly and attentive. I really enjoyed the mango mango roll. If you like mango and some sweetness in your sushi, this one is a must try. The shrimp miso soup is also very good, it's a big bowl for a reasonable price and it's big enough for 2. One thing I did notice the lights above our table were very dusty and also the divider walls between other booths.

I stopped here because I was craving sushi on my way home. The restaurant is really dark inside. I took a seat at the sushi bar and ordered the super crunchy roll (buy 1 get 1 half off) and the garlic green beans. All my food was pretty good and my tab was just under $40. The staff was friendly and attentive as well. Overall, I give it. 4/5.

Picked this one in Gardena. Close and convenient. Allowed the waiter to pick out sushi and he did not disappoint. Buy 1 get one 50% off. Very nice. I will be back.

I still had some leftovers, though. sashimi were thick cut pieces, needed 2 bites per piece to eat. beef teriyaki: get it. even if you JUST get this, get it. I knew something was up when my mom AND sister both ordered some kind of combo, but my sister called dibs on my mom's as soon as she said she was going to order it. this led me to ordering my own beef teriyaki combo. oyakodon was classic and hit everything just right, the cheapest of the entrees but just as filling. love it here!! will be back soon

I got to try items from not only my plate, but hers as well. The food was hit and miss. The beef teriyaki, which they cooked exactly to the doneness I requested, was incredibly good. The steak was tender - the teriyaki sauce was spot on. I also liked the macaroni salad which was hiding behind the lettuce. However, the sashimi and tempura missed the mark. While the slices of sashimi (e.g., tuna, salmon, and yellow tail) were fresh, they were cut way too thick. The assortment of tempura tasted good, and was crunchy, but was battered way too heavily. It felt like the batter was the focal point of the dish instead of the vegetables and shrimp, which I could barely taste. The service was excellent. Our server was attentive even though the restaurant was packed with people. The food and drinks came out fast. They served our sodas in chilled mugs, which was a nice touch. I didn't enjoy the fact that it was uncomfortably warm in the restaurant (it was hot that day). I don't think the AC was running. However, I won't count this against the establishment since the server stopped by our table to apologize about the warm temperature in the room. Some final thoughts about this place. -We came right at opening. The place filled up pretty fast. -There was plenty of parking behind the restaurant. -If this restaurant had executed the small things more effectively, as opposed to focusing on preparing the food quickly, this could have easily been a five star write up.

We ordered the Seiro Soba with Shrimp and Vegetable Tempura, which came out within about 10 to 15 minutes. We ordered a large to share, and without us even asking, they split the soba into two portions for us. That small gesture really reflected the service overall. The staff was very sweet and welcoming throughout our meal. The Seiro Soba was unlike any soba we've had before. The noodles had a noticeably chewier texture than the buckwheat soba we're used to, but we really enjoyed them. The tempura was also very good, with the Perilla Leaf Tempura being my personal favorite. Parking nearby seemed limited, so we parked along 166th St. and walked over. There was plenty of street parking available when we visited. The restaurant had a very homey, neighborhood feel, and it was clear that a lot of regulars come here. I'd definitely come back to Otafuku Restaurant to try more of their noodles.

This place delivers that classic "small-but-mighty" Japanese comfort vibe, the kind of spot where…read morethe noodles do the talking and the tempura does the flexing. Interior is clean, simple, friendly service, and soba so good it could probably negotiate the challenges you probably will have finding parking. Parking? Well... let's just say alley parking builds character. Hot Seiro Soba + Tempura, The hot soba comes out steaming like it's clocked in for a full shift. The noodles have that perfect chew, not mushy, not stiff, just that "I trained in Japan for this" texture. Dip them into the broth and suddenly you're rethinking your taste buds in a good way. The tempura? Light, crisp, and not drowning in oil. It's the kind of tempura that makes you feel like you're eating responsibly... even though you're absolutely not. Cold Seiro Soba + Eel & Veggie Tempura, Cold soba is always a personality test. If you order it, you're either a purist or someone who enjoys refreshing noodles that slap. The eel adds that sweet-savory richness, and the veggie tempura brings the crunch. Together, they're basically the Japanese version of a buddy-cop duo. Chicken Skewers, Juicy, lightly charred, and simple, like the restaurant's way of saying, "We know you came for the soba, but here's a little something extra." Overall the Service was pleasant for a Sunday night, which is impressive considering half the customers were probably still recovering from weekend errands. Parking behind the building is... let's call it "intimate." You'll either fit or you won't. Western Ave is your safer backup plan. Consider it part of the Otafuku adventure, like a mini‑boss before the main quest. Miguel C.

There seems to only be 2 waitresses in the dining area, and I feel bad cause they look like they're moving as fast as they can but in a calm manner. They were very kind! We ordered the Umami Maze Udon, a spicy version of the maze udon, and a kaarage to share. My maze udon came out first, then the spicy and kaarage shortly after. The udon is a generous portion size! The udon itself was very chewy, although, kinda subtle in flavor. It was overall pretty decent, but I had better udon from other places. I did like how it was less salty compared to many maze udon places though. I heard the spicy version was actually pretty spicy haha. The kaarage itself were also very huge pieces. Although, I wish they had more seasoning or at least had a dip bc it was lacking in flavor. It was just a big fried chicken. The one thing that was kinda bothersome was the lack of air ventilation in here. It was a pretty hot day, so the restaurant was just very warm and quite uncomfortable. It felt like there was no air everywhere. Also the tables were just soo sticky. The booths also feel like the cushions were definitely overused. The whole seating situation was not a pleasant experience. Food was okay, did not make up for the experience dining in though.
