I wanted to like this place so bad. It's cute and has character and the food looks SO SO good. However the flavors of what we ordered fell a little flat. I want to come back and try something else out. Our Mocajete almost everything in it was overcooked and bland tasting. The chicken and beef were dry, we got our food almost 10 minutes apart from one another, and to top it off it was quite spendy. We split the mocajete but our bill for three of us was still 90 dollars. I'll maybe give it another try but honestly a bit disappointing.

Food was delicious and fresh. They have homemade tortillas. The server was nice and suggested food. Family friendly. Plenty of parking. I had ordered some shrimp empanadas but they forgot to take them to me.

This is their carne asada with shrimp. So delicious!! And the corn handmade tortillas were the cherry on top!

The food was delicious and the service was friendly, fast and cordial. This is my new favorite Mexican seafood restaurant in this area of Fresno. Definitely coming back to try the rest of their menu. The place was clean and at least at lunch on a Thursday, it was quiet.

If there half stars, I would likely rate 3.5. coming here at 5:30-ish on Sunday was coming to an empty restaurant. We were a party of six. Waitresses were nice and greeted us, said "anywhere is fine" for seating. Most were booths seating four people or round tables seating five. We had to sit at the large table that could have sat 12. Divider wall In middle between two seating areas. Restrooms are in the other half. Food took average time coming out. Homemade corn tortillas is why I score this place the .5. but nothing stood out. Shrimp cocktail was alright, watered down like someone else reviewed. Husband and son shared an asada burrito. Salsas were on the south side (I'm a spicy sauce person). Even guac sauce was more sour than guac. Chips were tostadas and saltine crackers. The kids got a kick out from it being individually wrapped! The kids got quesadillas and fries. They have both white or red rice her so I guess that's a good option. I tried shrimp diabla. It's more sweet and sour tomatoes than hot/spicy (again, I like it spicy/hot). I don't think this will be a place I'd come back to...maybe only for the tortillas lol. It's pricey since the restaurant name has mariscos (seafood) in it. Perhaps cause it's also by the mall? Place has Mexican music playing in background and four TV screens in room I sat in. All random stuff on. Total damage was around $110. Usually, I can feed my family of 8 at other Mexican restaurants and pay around $100. This time, I was less two people and paid above our usual. Oh, the sixth person didn't order anything either so really five ppl at 110 versus eight ppl at 100. Same local area restaurant. Hope this review helps.

The food was pretty good, great seasoning to be honest. The camarones a la diabla could use more chili, maybe the red sauce served with the burrito. The burrito had good flavor as well. Service was good and the ambiance was good, was nice and quiet and they had plenty of football games on and soccer as well. Will definitely be back when In town and also recommend. Wasn't a wait but did get pretty packed quick. Only piece of advice would be on the menu, to write if the item is going to take a while to cook or let the customer beforehand.

    Great flavor menudo!

What a great find. My first visit I had to start with the menudo. Very traditional made. Amazing authentic flavor. The corn tortillas were perfection. Can't wait to work my way through the entire men. BRAVO!!!

Absolutely loved this place. The inside decor is so cute, spacious, and clean. The waitress was super helpful and gave lots of information about the preparation of their specialty items, and brought us more salsa. The food was delicious. So many different ways to have mariscos and their own take on ceviche and raw seafood with unique flavors was very exciting. We wiped our plates clean. And then musicians showed up! This place gets even more lively. Will be back with the rest of the family.

    Bad bad....

Ordered shrimp cocktail... tastes like shrimp water n cucumber.... Chips and guacamole... nothing special

    Mussels with chile sauce

The waitress was really nice , this place was kinda empty . The food took awhile which I would normal understand. Good food takes time . But we ordered a tostada de camarón which was alright . And some mussels in some sauce . The mussels had a nasty flavor like if they were expired or something we also tried the camarones ala plancha that got to our table last. Which was the worst . They were burnt and the shrimp also tasted expired I can't even say I'd give this restaurant another shot because the girl never even came up to check on us for refills or napkins . The Michis were good .

The food was absolutely fabulous, but what truly made the evening special was our waitress, Anne. Anne has a cheerful, professional personality that immediately made us feel welcome. She was attentive, friendly, and helped make our family celebration feel extra special. She checked on us throughout the meal, anticipated our needs, and always did so with a genuine smile. Celebrating a 92nd birthday is a memorable occasion, and Anne played a big part in making it such a joyful experience. Outstanding service, delicious food, and a warm atmosphere--we couldn't have asked for a better evening. Thank you, Anne, and the entire Pismo's team for helping us create such a special memory for Grandma! Happy 91nd Birthday to Grandma! What a wonderful milestone to celebrate with family.

Pismo's looks like the kind of place where seafood should be the easy choice. Unfortunately, almost…read moreall the seafood we ordered was disappointing. QUICK TAKE Get: Blackened Salmon Tacos Skip: Ultimate Combo Louie, Shrimp Cocktail, Grilled Alaskan Halibut Know: Several of the seafood dishes tasted dry or tired, and the meal did not feel worth the price. The only thing I would recommend is the Blackened Salmon Tacos. They come with fire-roasted salsa, avocado, cabbage-cilantro slaw, pico de gallo and lime crema. These had much better flavor, texture, and balance than the rest of our meal. Unfortunately, the other seafood was where things really fell apart. Ultimate Combo Louie: This comes loaded with jumbo prawns, shrimp and Dungeness crab, so at $38 I expected it to feel like a premium seafood salad. It didn't. The seafood lacked freshness and the shrimp in particular were soft and soggy. Shrimp Cocktail: Probably the most disappointing item. The shrimp tasted old and had a limp, waterlogged texture instead of being firm and fresh. Grilled Alaskan Halibut: At $42, this should have been one of the highlights. Instead, the fish was dry and overcooked, which is especially frustrating with a piece of halibut at this price. Hoisin Brussels Sprouts: Way too sweet for me. The sweetness completely overwhelmed the Brussels sprouts instead of complementing them.
