Went here with my coworkers during lunch time and there was a good amount of people because they had a lunch buffet. I wasn't that hungry so I decided to just get one of their lunch specials which was the crunchy chicken tacos with a small drink. It costs about $11. It was an alright snack but there wasn't that much chicken in it because it was filled with veggies and cheese. They put the drink in a to go cup which was convenient. I''ve been going here every now and then during my lunch or whenever I get my check. I always get the chilaquiles. They are so good. I also LOVE the diced potatoes. The texture is perfect to me and isn't soggy like the other restaurants. It didn't taste like it was warmed up in a microwave so that's a win. It's in The Galleria" in downtown Fresno. The restaurant is very nice. Clean, safe & practiced. Calm. Greeted by kind worker and order was ready & waiting. Paid for it and wished a good day after being offered hot sauce! Lunchtime! I got some of their sweet cinnamon sugar chips leaving to go with it. Really great! Stopped in recently on a Thursday with some family because I noticed they have a buffet every day and posole on Thursdays. We all got the buffet which comes with a drink for about $10. The restaurant is in the Galleria with 3-4 other restaurants, all pretty small and casual. These businesses generally cater to downtown working crowd, they know you're on a lunch hour and they aim to get you in and out, which I appreciate. For those not walking from work, there is free parking in a small lot to the side of the building, which didn't need to be validated. The food was good but not outstanding. The buffet was small but enough of a variety of options including a small salad station. The posole I was looking forward to didn't disappoint. Not the best I've had but really good (which generally means it had enough garlic and chile). The beans and rice were just ok. I found the chile verde to be a little salty. The cheese enchiladas were good but didn't care for the ground beef ones. Highlights were the chile rellenos which had a good amount of cheese and the flan. I don't usually care for flan but this was really good caramel flavor and firm. I also appreciated that they had brewed tea since I don't drink soda. Tacos were good, but they made them way too spicy. I know I'm Latina n all but I can't handle a lot of spicy-ness in my food. Beans and rice were OK. My bf always orders Chile Colorado, he said it was 6 stars out of 10. Good chips and salsa but flour tortillas are yuck! They were rubbery and hard, so corn tortillas is a better option here. Great location in downtown Fresno with daily lunch specials. They offer breakfast and lunch daily with an all you can eat lunch buffet. Some foods are tastier at times than others. The fish taco was a 6/10 and the torta was a 7. Reason for the fish taco being a 6 was it could of been better. Improvements could be a more cooked tortilla and a little more seasoning. I have debated on writing this review since I am a regular here, but I only feel it's right to speak out. I came here with my family friday, Usually the atmosphere here is very nice and the owner is usually sweet. The service is always great with the waitresses. They all provide fast and efficient service to each of their customers with a smile and good attitude. During our checkout this day, I witnessed the owner of the establishment using vulgar language towards the young(I believe to be Asian) waitress. When the young waitress proceeded to speak back and tell the boss that she can't speak to her that way, the boss then walks to the back of the restaurant to loudly gossip to the back workers about what the waitress did wrong. How unprofessional of her! It was quite a scene that was highly uncomfortable to watch. As somebody who use to work in the restaurant industry as a young adult, I would've been just as upset at my superior using profanity towards me especially in front of the other customers. What I witnessed was clearly an act of bullying from a superior and that is just not okay. I felt sad for that girl and her peers. read more

I can say it was very delicious. We had tacos al pastor and asada and they were bigger than your usual small tacos , and they had all the sides imaginable to accompany your tacos. Had a nice surprise as I was walking back from the Farmer's Market on Kern at around 9 am this morning... I glance over to see a sign that La Torta (located in the Galleria) is open for breakfast. Their hours in fact are 6 am to 4 pm Monday through Friday. I had made the mistake of setting out on my walk to the Farmer's Market without eating anything whatsoever, not even my mandatory coffee, so I decided to stop in. Friendly service right away, took my order quickly. My huevos rancheros over easy with corn tortillas was right on the money. It was also served with some fried potatoes and refried beans. All was very delicious. For about $ 9 I received all of that food and a coffee. I will most definitely be returning to La Torta soon. Check them out soon. read more
