    Adobada [Spicy Pork] Tacos.

My husband orders tacos from here pretty regularly. It is his favorite tacos in town. Yesterday I had the opportunity to try their tacos. They are delicious. I look forward to trying more their menu has in store. I ordered 20 tacos to go, and my order was out quick. The ladies working were kind, patient, and helpful. There is a lot more space inside than I expected. I am sure they get busy and they can accommodate big crowds.

The food here is awesome. I'm not sure how they get such tasty and fresh fish and shrimp to this part of the country miles away from the coast or any big city! The shrimp aguachile, ceviche tostadas, and fish tacos are all fresh and tasty. Super authentic!! It could've been 5 stars for me but I knocked a star off because they were not up front at all about the price changes. There is a small printout on each table that's easily missed that says that the prices in the menu may not be correct and have rose due to inflation. It's understandable but there was no warning for any of the items and when we asked for a small cup of salsa for the chips, we found out that that cost $3 per cup. The shrimp aguachile says $14.95 on the menu for a small but we were charged $19.95 (the price of the large) and some other items increased as well. It would help if they were just a little more up front about the price changes so that it avoids an awkwardness when the bill comes.

Food was greasy and disappointing. Shrimp taco was tasty but was fried on the outside. Prices are higher than what the menu says.

I was kind of in the aisle and felt like I may be in the way of people and staff walking by, but it worked out ok. Despite it being busy, we were waited on quickly. They brought out chips and salsa to start while we reviewed the menu. I ordered the chicken with shrimp that came with rice, beans and tortillas. My husband got the chili verde chimichanga with rice and beans. The food was fresh and the plates were hot. I really enjoyed my meal and liked the flavors of the shrimp and chicken topped with cheese and fresh mushrooms. I must have been hungry because I cleaned the plate. The beans were good, and had a sweeter flavor like I like. The rice was cooked well and did not have any undercooked crunchy bits. I would surely return again when I'm in the area.

The waitress didn't bring chips and salsa until we asked for it. Ehhh. The chips were stale. Must be bulk Costco chips. Nope! My daughter ordered a Michelada. She asked if they had Chamoy and Tajin? They did. The waitress must of misunderstood her as she wanted the rim with Chamoy and Tajin. She had it put in the actual drink. My grandson ordered chicken nuggets and fries off the child's menu. He must not of liked it as he didn't eat very much. He is super picky though. I had the same thing as last time. Surf and Turf. I enjoyed my meal. My daughter's mom got enchiladas again and she liked it too. They both did NOT like the rice which was unfortunate as they ordered double rice with their meal. I will still stop here on any future trips to Idaho. 3*

Worth Every Mile If…read moreyou're traveling through Winnemucca and don't stop at the Martin Hotel, you're missing one of the true gems of northern Nevada. This isn't fancy, pretentious dining. It's honest, family-style comfort food done exceptionally well, and you can feel the history the moment you walk through the door. The portions are enormous. My partner ordered a steak sandwich and honestly thought they had accidentally brought him two sandwiches because it was that big. Trust me--you are not leaving hungry. Now for my favorite part... I decided to be adventurous and ordered the sweetbreads. I'll admit it--I had absolutely no idea what sweetbreads were. I figured maybe it was some kind of bread with gravy. Nope. Turns out I had ordered a classic delicacy made from organ meat. My partner looked it up while I was halfway through eating it and told me exactly what I was eating. Did I stop? Absolutely not. It was damn good, and I'll wear that experience like a badge of honor from now on. Sometimes the best meals happen when you step outside your comfort zone. Everything we ordered was cooked perfectly, the flavors were outstanding, and the family-style meal made the experience even better. The service was warm, welcoming, and exactly what you'd hope to find in a historic restaurant that's been serving travelers for generations. The Martin Hotel isn't just another place to eat. It's an experience. It's history. It's Nevada. And I can honestly say I'll be looking forward to my next trip through Winnemucca just so I have another excuse to eat here. Highly recommended. Five stars.

The service was good and all the employees were friendly. Dinner is served family style with your party along with other parties who are seated at your table. At first I was skeptical of this, but we actually had some really good conversations with two other couples at our table. You receive complimentary starters that will be passed from one end of the table to the other. The complimentary dishes were all really good and filling. We all ordered their dinner special which was a New York strip with mushrooms and garlic. We requested extra garlic, but the garlic was pretty much raw (should have been sautéed). The New York had way too much fat which was disappointing because it was only a 10 oz. I didn't try their bread pudding because I was so stuffed with all the sides I ate, but those at our table mentioned it was delicious. The complimentary glass of wine was a nice touch to start the evening. I ordered myself a Picon drink (I believe this is their signature drink) and it was really refreshing. Overall, I'd definitely recommend giving this place a try. I will definitely be a returning customer whenever I am either visiting or passing through Winnemuccca.

The girl at the front said, "I was the one that took your call. I told you how big the quesadillas were, what's the problem?!" I told her that I would like another one. She charged me full price even though I didn't want another side that comes with it. She went behind the counter and when her co-worker asked her what happened she said, "I don't know what her problem is". I couldn't believe it. When she handed it to me, I said thank you, she said "Yeah" flipantly and literally walked away. I walked away knowing I had been kind...maybe she was having a bad day. Got in the car and handed out the food. No one in the family liked it. The was not worth this hassle or treatment. Ended up paying $56 for 3 quesadillas, a burrito, and the WORST customer service.
