I'm not the type to leave reviews but the service I received today (from the cashier) was so bad that I have to. My husband placed an order to go over the phone and had it on speaker. He ordered one order of ceviche de camarón and one order of aguachiles VERDE. I went to pick it up and got home and did my baby's routine to get her down for a nap so that I could finally eat. Inside the bag was the order of ceviche and for the order of aguachiles they gave us NEGRA, not the verde one that we had asked for. This wasn't a big deal to me and I wasn't mad at all because I also work in food service and I know mistakes happen. What really disappointed me and upset me is what happened when I called them to let them know. When I called them, the same cashier that took our order over the phone earlier answered. I let her know that we received the wrong kind of aguachiles, and LITERALLY AS SOON AS I SAID THAT (which I said very politely since I work in food service as well) SHE GAVE ME ATTITUDE RIGHT OFF THE BAT. She kept saying " NO NO I TOOK YOUR ORDER, I KNOW WHAT YOUR HUSBAND SAID" she kept going back in forth with me so at that point I started to give her attitude back since SHE GAVE ME ATTITUDE FIRST. She kept insisting that we ordered negra when that wasn't true, we ordered verde. I even made sure to pull up camera footage for the manager that we have from our home security camera of us in our living room ordering. Our camera footage also proved that we ordered verde. I did end up having to waste more time and gas to go back to switch it to my correct order, which the manager was able to do for me. I do want to point out that the manager was able to take care of it. HOWEVER, even though the manager was able to take care of it, the attitude and service from the cashier was SO HORRIBLE that I don't see myself wasting money here ever again after coming to Mariscos Espinoza for years. I've been going to all their locations for the past 18 years since I was a kid. Me and my family had a lot of memories here. We even came to celebrate at this exact location after I gave birth. Needless to say, we're never spending money here again because of how bad the cashier's attitude was. read more

Honestly I been all around town to search for the best shrimp cocktail and I couldn't find any, (just moved to Highland) so I was still going to Riverside to get it. Honestly for the price I paid, I thought it would be pretty bomb seafood. But I was wrong. The menu prices on yelp are not the prices when you pick up and pay at the restaurant. I paid $20 for two tostada de ceviche. I asked for cooked shrimp and they gave me raw shrimp. It was clear/grey. I wouldn't care but I'm pregnant and can't eat that. Bro, if you like Mexican food and Mariscos just go! I've had their breaded shrimp and it was juicy, crispy and mouthwatering to the last bite. Also, I've had their jaiva ceviche and it did not let me down succulent all the way down the hatch. So far everything I've eaten there was been superb/bomb! Worst customer service ever! The young waitress didn't even smile was defensive and with an I don't care attitude from the minute we got there! We finally placed our order then the waitress comes back saying the cook said the food will take 45 mins with a take it or leave it attitude! We told her we would like to dine in, She then told us that she had no idea how long it would be for a table and that she hadn't even started taking orders. Almost as soon as we sat down, we were presented with crunchy tortilla chips and a spicy zesty green salsa. Service was great, but a little bit interesting. At first, I thought our waitress didn't like us. She was kind of curt, and she had this hilarious way of power walking around the dining room to attend to customers' needs. She would take care of all requests, and then speed away. Around halfway through our meal, we decided we loved her. She wasn't at all unfriendly. We took some of her recommendations when ordering and ended up with a seafood feast fit for kings. We got three shrimp dishes and the pescado sarandeado, and everything was amazing. The portions were also gigantic, but it was all so delicious that we cleaned up. Fantastic tacos!!! I ordered the Chipotle Shrimp dish, and it was absolutely amazing. Freshly steamed tortillas, extremely fresh and delicious shrimp, and a sauce that I couldn't get enough of. You'll get delicious complimentary chips that come with this fantastic lime salsa that's both sour and spicy. I haven't had anything like this at any other Mexican place. They would not place an order over the phone because it was too large (fish and a molcajete) then told me it was going to be 2hrs and I needed to come in if I wanted the order. When I went to the restaurant to pay they told me they ran out of meat for the molcajete and the fish will take 1hr to make because too many people ahead of us. But the place was empty.
