My partner and I enjoyed a dine in experience at mariscos la tropicana although it's not a huge dine in establishment, they do offer outside seating to accommodate customers. We ordered augachiles with mango. we ordered lemonade and mango aguas. the service was quick we sat down and were handed our beverages within 5 minutes and then our food arrived shortly after! it was such a good meal. i can't wait to come back!

I came in wanting a healthy juice & seafood cocktail. Bruv, the hype is real! From the moment that I stepped in, I was warmly welcomed. Immediately, I was shocked by just how clean, organized, & beautifullu painted it is inside. That was just the start of my visit. Then, my food came & oh man, it is soooo good! Seriously, I know that I'm going to crave this again. 10/10! I will definitely come back & recommend this place 100%! =^_^=

This was my fam's go to spot for ceviche, however after our experience today, I sadly announce that we have decided to never come back here again. Back story on what happened, my sister called in for her usual cooked shrimp tostadas and a few other items. Upon coming back home, we notice that the shrimp was raw so she called back telling them that she had originally asked for cooked shrimp not raw. They blamed it on my sister saying that they had "curtido" (raw in Spanish) written for the order but my sister had actually asked for "cocido" (cooked) ones. They eventually told her to go back to the store so that they can replace them, but when my sister got there, they didn't even apologize and looked upset. We got back home for the second time, and we notice that not only was some of the shrimp still raw but they didn't even add any sauce!!! Like what the hell is ceviche without the sauce?? It's like asking for a boba milk tea without the tea lol. Moral of the story: if you're gonna offer your customers options for raw or cooked shrimp, please do so. Not everyone wants to play Russian roulette for parasites from eating raw shrimp...

I was in the Baldwin Park area waiting for my car to finish from a shop and as I was scrolling through yelp found this really small mom and pop hole in the wall shop. I was intrigued by its various reviews on cheap ceviche and they had everything from mexican snacks, milk shakes, raspados, and bebidas. They even make tostilocos- if you haven't tried it- you should! It's definitely a really small shop where you walk in and order and just wait outside until it's ready- took about 15-20 minutes for my order. Be patient with them as even though it looks like there's not a lot of people waiting- people can also make phone orders I believe. I just got a tostada mixta- came with a box of mixed seafood ceviche and three tostadas on the side. Salt, tapatio packets and lime were provided and at 8.99 for this I would say it was delicious and fresh and I would come back here for further cravings. Glad I stopped by and took a chance on this gem. May not look like much but give them a try!

Stopped in on a Sunday afternoon and got the ceviche tostada super mixta ($23.92) and the aguachile verde ($19.76) to go. It's a pretty small space and only fits maybe 5 people inside, but there are more tables outside. Both dishes were super fresh. The ceviche came with fish, shrimp, octopus, crab, and scallop I think. The aguachile came with shrimp and was super delicious. We got it medium spicy which was perfect. Portions were good and prices were not cheap but reasonable. They gave us salt packets and tapatio packets in our bag which was nice. I would definitely come back for the aguachile. I could drink the sauce by itself it was so good! read more

I came here because of the reviews, but my God!! I'm never coming back and here is why!!!! My family loves Mariscos, I absolutely don't mind paying if it's worth it, my opinion this place is NOT!! I have included a picture of a small tray of tostadas mixtas (camarón crudo, cocido y jaiba) for $52.00 (Yikes!) plus I added callos to it (I counted the callos which was a whopping 8 cut in half ) for an additional $18.72. BEWARE when you buy a Charola "Tray" no salsas come with it, not even limes....only tostadas!!! WTF!! I can go to a pricey Marisco's place by my house and they At least provide ALL condiments, this is ridiculous. Now to only make matters worse the majority of the seafood is Jaiba (crab) you can barely see the shrimp. Look at the pictures and see if you can spot the shrimps!! Well all I can say go with caution!!! read more

Came here craving fresh seafood and ended up having one of the best mango ceviches I've ever tried. The balance of sweet mango, citrus, and fresh seafood was perfect -- super refreshing and packed with flavor without being overly acidic. Every bite tasted incredibly fresh. The guacamole was another standout. Freshly made, creamy, perfectly seasoned, and paired with crispy chips that were impossible to stop eating. You can tell they use quality ingredients here. read more

El agua Chile verde les sale bien chingon! They have it in mild para los que no aguantan el picante, pero para los que sí les gusta tienen Picante y están bien sabrosos. This place is excellent. Definitely deserves 5 stars for taste, value, and service. Ordered on line, and food was ready early. Street parking was abundant on a Sunday afternoon. Tostadas we're about $3 and bigger mixed plates/tower we're about $10. Portions were well worth the quality of the food. Seafood was fresh, flavors were bold, and heat was perfect. One of the best ceviche places I've had in the area. I'm honestly surprised this place doesn't have more reviews. I would say better to order online, as seating was minimal. Owners are very nice and the food is delicious! I would not have noticed it driving by since it's a small restaurant. I came here on a bike friendly business district bike ride featuring local businesses and we stopped here for lunch. Probs were a lot bigger than I expected. Everything tastes so fresh! Small Family owned restaurant. Don't be fooled this place is the spot. Prices are cheap and the food is delicious. The staff are friendly. Homemade food with a lot of flavor. We ordered the agua de pepino and vanilla raspado. Both were made while we waited. Well worth it. So fresh and sweet. We also ordered the shrimp ceviche. It left me wanting more. The spices they use are perfect. The shrimp is fresh so were the vegetables and avocado. We ordered the manzana loca and it was a good dessert. We spent around 21.50. Since it was just a simple bean and cheese burrito, it was frustrating that it was overlooked. Having a child at the table without food while everyone else was eating completely changed the mood of our dinner. The food itself wasn't authentic Mexican cuisine. It felt more like Americanized Mexican fusion, and overall it was just mediocre. Considering the higher prices, I expected much better quality and flavor. To top it off, an automatic 18% gratuity was added to the bill, which didn't feel justified given the level of service we received. Overall, I won't be returning. If you're looking for a quiet, family-friendly restaurant with attentive service and authentic Mexican food, this wouldn't be my recommendation.

She barely ate anything, just about two pieces of watermelon and a small bite of concha bread. For that amount of food, I found the $17 charge completely unreasonable. When I questioned the charge, the waiter explained that because the food was put on her plate rather than being fed to her directly by us, they considered her to have eaten from the buffet and charged the full $17. He also mentioned that management is watching the cameras to determine whether children are eating from the buffet. Honestly, I find this policy excessive. I understand that buffets need rules to prevent people from sharing food or taking advantage of the system, but charging $17 for a 2 year old who ate practically nothing seems unreasonable. There should be some sort of reduced price or reasonable policy for toddlers, especially when they consume such a small amount of food. The food may be worth trying, but because of this experience and the way the situation was handled, I would think twice before returning. A $17 charge for what my 2-year-old actually ate felt ridiculous and left a very negative impression

Ordered a Strawberry Smoothie, Mango Smoothie and Shrimp Tostada through Door Dash and they were all delicious! Their fruit smoothies have a slightly icy texture to them that is really refreshing.
