If you are thinking about going here for quality Mexican food and a great dining experience....RUN! My family and I came in on a Sunday afternoon. The restaurant was busy, but not packed. We were a party of 10: 7 adults, 3 children. We were seated almost immediately (because it wasn't super busy)...we ordered our drinks immediately, but we didn't receive them until the end of our meal. All of our plates were brought in at random times, it was a disorganized mess. 1 or 2 of us would receive our plate of food, then the rest had to wait an additional 30 mins...then we received 2 more plates of food...then we had to wait longer, and the rest of the food finally arrived. Our appetizers arrived along with the check. Our margaritas never arrived so we had it removed from the bill. The friend chicken plate was way over fried and flavorless... the shrimp tasted like it wasn't prepped and cleaned before cooking.... We ordered "tacos de pescado", the waitress showed up with "Caldo de pescado" instead :( it was such a disappointment since we had to wait so long, only to find out that she misunderstood our order! The waitress was not attentive at all because she was so focused on flirting with the men at the other table behind us... (the receipt says her name was Hillary) it was a complete mess. This is Tijuana Mex food. Mediocre at best. The beef was inedible as it was so tough, but the worst was six Spanglish women were loud and spouting explicatives with every sentance. Ripping apart a supposed friend with descriptions such as "Fxxxxxx Bxxxxx" I couldn't go over and ask them to pipe down as they are disrupting my lunchtime. I am a seafood lover and decided to try this place. I ordered the ceviche and upon receiving it, it didn't look very appetizing as it was given to me raw. Yes I know ceviche is raw except the shrimp cooks in the lime juice but mine barely had any given in a small plate. I had to order a separate bowl with extra lemons so I can marinate it. Came back to this place because the last time we had lunch here was great !! . But this time it was different. We order shrimp tostada and a pulpo and shrimp tostada the shrimp looked raw . It was still grey . The pulpo was very chewy didnt like it at all and look like 4 shrimps were just diced and thrown on top . More vegetables the meat . I order enchiladas shrimp and a hamburger and a chicken quesadilla . We ordered godornis/quail and when we received our plate, the smell was so foul that we almost vomited. My husband picked at it with a fork and the smell was awful. We called our waitress and let her know. All she did was grab our plate and ask if we wanted to trade it for something else. At that point we didn't want anything so she brought us our bill and charged us for two drinks and the one meal that was ok. We didn't want to argue so we paid but we will never return and tell everyone we know about our experience. You would think that she would of just let us go without paying for the remaining tab. Do not waste your time or money here. We've only been in this town a few times and this time we wanted shrimp! Let me tell you! It's over priced and for the serving sizes and quality of the food. The only really good thing we tried was the Aguachile rojos. The beans and fries had a rancid taste, clearly the use of cheap oils being used. The camarones a la diabla we're anything but spicy and the sauce was thick and sweet and they tossed a couple of sliced jalapeños on top to make you think you the spice was there. The shrimp cocktail was nothing pleasing as well. Clearly was not made from fresh, rather frozen shrimp because it didn't have that shrimp juice flavor you get from boiling your own shrimp. It tasted like a cheap tomato juice with minimal veggies and not enough condiments to choose from. Not to mention the service. Our waitress was rude as soon as we arrived. We ordered, ate what we could and left. Even at the register she was upset she had to split our bill and griped. Clearly she wasn't having a good day. I went to this restaurant for the first time yesterday with my boss. The environment was loud, but it didn't bother me. As custom from higher class Mexican restaurants that sit you down, we were told to take any seat we wanted. We were approached by a young waitress that took our drink orders. My boss ordered a Michelada (which was poorly prepared) and I ordered a Coke. About five minutes into the meal we received tortilla chips and salsa to snack on and we finished our drinks. The waitresses both walked past our tables and didn't ask us if we wanted a refill. No big deal. Once we were there for 20 minutes, our food was on its way to the table only to be the COMPLETELY WRONG ORDERS. Once again we waited another 20 minutes and our food finally came out... Once we started eating, I asked the waitress for another Coke yet I never received it. Bottom line: the food wasn't great, it was acceptable but for the price I paid, I expected more. The service was horrible. I'm not sure how the management works there, but they should teach their waitresses to cater to their customers. I will definitely not return here. One thing the waitress was fast about was getting the check. I'm glad she didn't charge the extra soda. You bet she didn't get a tip. read more

I can't believe the low ratings on this place. I freaking loved it!!! First off, I was tot in the mood for Mexican and hungry as heck. I spotted this place off Broadway and decided to give it a go without even looking at it on yelp first (I was a little crunched for time, OK). I didn't have very high expectations honestly. But I went in anyway cuz I was starved and looking for a somewhat decent late lunch. Anyway, after sitting down and looking at the menu I realized this place is mexican SEAFOOD! Yuckie. =P But the waitress saw my dilemma and helped me pick out a dish that featured the cow and chicken. The food was very fresh, well made, authentic. Way more than surpassed my cravings and filled my belly with only 1/3 of my food eaten. Also, they give you limes with your chips and salsa (YUM), and they also give you a side of green salasa, which is actually hot but still has amazing flavor. Lastly, this restaurant reminds me of Mazatlan Mexico, or Cabo San Lucas... Fun times. read more

Very disappointed! The service was terrible and slow. The food was mediocre. My husband and I ordered one shrimp ceviche tostada and one carne asada taco each. We were asked to wait outside for our order, understandably considering COVID-19. However, we waited over 30 minutes before my husband went back inside to find out what the hold up was since there was only one other person ordering. He found both teenage ladies that were working there and that took our order, stuck on their cell phones while our order that on the counter. Then when we opened our order there were only 2 small stirafoam containers in the bag. I opened one of them and saw it was the shrimp ceviche tostada so I assumed the second box was the second ceviche tostada. I went back in informed the ladies that my tacos were missing, to my surprise the second box had both tacos in it . I should of checked both boxes before complaining but what I dont understand is why we were both our orders served in the same container. I wouldn't of been as upset as I was had their customer service been better and I wouldn't of been talked down to.. What really bothers me is that I am doing my best to support small businesses during this pandemic that is hurting the small business community. This place doesn't deserve a half of a star. Shrimp tacos were $4.00 and the asada tacos were $3.50. I've eaten tacos all over Santa Maria and have never paid $3.50 for one asada taco. I'm pissed. I ordered for a take out and loved it. I went to pick my order up on a busy Friday night and it was ready relatively quick. I would have never ate here if I originally read the reviews but I have to say I love Mexican sea food (Mariscos). This was one of the best I have had in a while. I grew up outside of LA with many great Mariscos and this really hit the spot. I felt like I walked into a Mariscos in Mexico when I picked up my order. Last time I felt that energy and comfort was in the Yucatan a little over a year ago. Many reviews were about non sea based dishes. I would definitely go again.
