This is my second visit to this restaurant. I wanted to try something different from the menu so I could see how consistent they are with the preparation of their food. I ordered in person but took the food to go. My son and I enjoyed the food today as well. Everything was nicely prepared and had good texture. The MOLCAJETE MAZATLÁN and the ARROZ PLAYERO were good but could've used a little more seasoning. The shrimp and calamari basket was okay. As happened the last time I ate from this restaurant, my bill had an extra fee that was not obvious. This time, I questioned it before paying. Turns out that if you pay with a credit card there is an additional fee that's based on a percentage of the bill; however, if you are paying with cash, the cost is as expected/accurate. That still does not sit well with me because the cost should be the same regardless of whether you're paying with cash or paying with a credit card. This place is so pretty inside! Such a large space and the food is so good! We went for lunch and found it to be nearly empty, and I can't understand why folks are sleeping on this place. The food is fantastic. The menu is in both English and Spanish. I ordered Langostinos which were so incredible and you don't EVER see those on menus. It was pricey for lunch but so good. My friend got tacos and those were reasonably priced. Just be sure to ask if the price is a concern. I just saw the picture and didn't investigate further. We ordered desserts and really enjoyed the churros. Freshly made and served with a yummy dipping sauce. Parking is ample and the service was also fantastic. Cocktails are available and freshly made. First, they serve soooo much food! The seafood was very fresh and there's a large variety of things to order, including Tex mex. I thoroughly enjoyed the live band and singing. It was such a fun atmosphere and good for the family. Also, the menu is mostly in Spanish, but there's the English translation. If you need help, the servers should be able to assist you. We were there ordered Arroz Playero ($21.99), Pulpo al Gusto Grill($23.99), Langosta al Gusto (Market Price). On the receipt it was saying that we had subtotal of $110.97. Since the receipt was over $100 and it'll automatically charged 15% gratuity that brought up the bill to $127.62 supposedly. However, the receipt added up $136.77 for check total? and the "Total charged" was $142.24 ? The price not only wasn't addEd up right started from subtotal and gratuity. Then why would they have "Check total" of $136.77 and "Total charged" of $142.24? we ended up talking to the manager, the manager was speaking both Spanish and broken English at the same time that we were confused of the explanation. Then the most ridiculous thing afterward was the restaurant ended up charging on the credit card $170.69 shown on the transaction notification from the bank? BEWARE!!! Fraudulent transaction. They will charge you way more than argue with you about it. So I went for dinner and drinks. Dinner good. Service good. BUT!!! They are charge you way more than what you order. I had ordered 2 cantaritos as you see in the menu price shows $17 but received by bill they were $27.99 per cantarito. I was confused so I asked again to see the ticket. My first cantarito they made was live and I did ask it to be made with double shot witch at first made sense ok! 11.99 xtra for shots but where is the 27.99 coming from!?!? Second cantarito was NOT done live they made it at the bar the polite waiter came back I could taste it right away it was cheap tequila not the same I had ordered. I asked the manager he sent a waitress I explained to her I am not arguing I just do not understand where this 27.99 price comes from?? She was polite but full of BS and said they made my drink as the first one I ordered.. I asked ok? So if you made my drink witch tequilita was it made with?? She pauses and says Herradura. I did not ask that in my first drink! I had had Don Julio silver on my first drink. She tried explaining that the shots are charged separately for every drink but the menu says that house tequila is included in cantarito. My bill just dose not make sense!! So!! I came to the conclusion that they make way to make your bill a lot more since the gratuity is included when the bill is over $100. I don't care about the gratuity I believe in giving a fair tip i just do not like the dishonesty and how they run their business. My first visit was on a Friday night around7:30. The restaurant is nicely appointed inside, and the wait staff are dressed in matching attire and are very friendly. Menu is in Spanish w/ English subtitles. No issue with that, but it would have been nice to have a bit more explanation about each dish since I was new to many of these dishes. I did ask the waitress about their most popular dishes and she gave input as requested. I ordered the Botana Playera which was sort of a mixed seafood boil. It included clams, mussels, shrimp, prawns, crab, and maybe a few lobster chunks. It was served on a plate rimmed with sliced cukes and tomatoes. Surprisingly, no rice or bread was included. I asked for some flour tortillas to accompany and they brought out 3 and charged me $1.99 for them, which I felt was excessive given that my dinner dish was $25. The other odd occurrence was that there was nothing provided to crack the crab. I asked for tools, and the waitress returned with a cracker. The taste and quality was fine. I enjoyed the dish overall. I also ordered a house margarita which was not delivered until after my food arrived. The waitress said that the bar was backed up, but the restaurant was not very busy so not sure what happened there. There was a band which started playing around 8pm, but both the music prior to the band, and the band itself, was a bit loud for the space IMO. They band was good, and I enjoyed the music, but it was loud for an 8pm restaurant scene. Maybe it would have been better at that volume in another hour or so when the scene changes to more of a bar scene? I'll give these guys another chance because the area needs a good restaurant, and the food was tasty. I hope that things will be a bit better next time! read more

I'd love to give this place 5 stars, and maybe I can after I go back and try it again. The seafood was really, really good. The drinks were strong!! The red snapper fish was amazing, the squid was cooked just right. Not great; our waitress seemed distracted, got charged a higher price for the meal that was market rate. Asked server the price and she said 32 but it was 40. The salsa was so soupy it could not stay on a chip! You need tosttos scoops to eat salsa that runny. Make sure you triple check your check as they'll change the prices and when you question it and LITERALLY POINT AT THE MENU they'll say "that's how I always put it in" or "I don't know" and make you pay the false amount scamming you. This is clearly a regular event happening to many people. Save your money and your ear drums. P.S. Please turn down the music. Very noisy, I am Mexican and used to loud music but the band playing was way excessively loud. You literally can't say a word to the waiter or you family around. Took us over two hours dinning there, definitely not a family environment. Prices are on the higher side for the small portions and cold food, plates were brought to us like 5-10 minutes in between. Seems like the waiter was trying but looks like poor management overall. Also gratuity was included in our ticket for two adults and one kid, my husband didn't realized it and ended up adding more tip, not really complaining about that part other reviews are talking about their receipts just don't add up.
