For Mariscos here definitely get the ceviche, always fresh and so yummy!! Service is good since it's never really packed. Empanadas de camarón are a must try. Those two things I vouch for at this restaurant. Seriously super yummy!! Empanadas for appetizer and ceviche for your entree you're set. They serve the ceviche with some chips. The food was great. I had the molcajete hot... my wife had 7mares and my kids carne asada tacos. Everything was good the service was great. Liz our server was very attentive. The ambiance was chill great for family. The place was clean. We moved to Lake Elsinore 4 years ago and this was our first time. We are coming from LA county and this place made us feel like home. Hands down the BEST Mexican food in Lake Elsinore! I've noticed some shady fake reviews trying to bring down El Nayarit's rating, but don't be fooled this place is the real deal. I've had shrimp ceviche all over California and nothing comes close to what they serve here. It's fresh, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. And don't sleep on the green spicy sauce super lemony with just the right kick. I literally dream about it. Came here for my husband to try seafood since he loves it but was a bit disappointed. Hubby got the shrimp empanadas that were dry inside and plain. Just shrimp in it and said it was ok but he wouldn't order again. Hubby ordered the molcajete and said it was again ok, but salty. I ordered the cheese enchiladas with rice and beans and again flavor was ok, expected more from this place because the chips and salsa were delicious so bit disappointed overall. Price was...not worth it for us and we won't be back. The waitress was very nice though. STAY - AWAY As a (used to be) regular customer; here are some bullet points from 6 years of experience. The short lady waitress was always attentive and did not take long with ordered drinks or food, but no longer here. Oysters: once in my whole time coming here I got an oyster with a worm. But the actual owner made it right buy giving us a different batch. (Pre-COVID) The new waiter (assuming it's the owners son / relative) is NOT attentive, disappears for 10-25 minutes before asking what you would like to eat. After he disappears again, you have to "ask" for chips and salsa now. The shrimp / fish ceviche is good with the green salsa. The lady who does the cooking is usually on point. The butterflied fish takes a long time to make and bring out: up to an hour wait. The shrimp empanadas: where good until recently. We ordered a dozen of them and got back empanadas that where over cooked, burnt, shrimp was rubbery, chewy, and lots of absorbed oil. As they where dark and NOT a golden brown. We kindly asked for another batch since the one they served was not acceptable. The waiter did say we make them the "same way". But, since we expressed our dislike we gave them a second chance to "improve" on "re-making" them. Guess what; we got the same (if not the same batch) of empanadas back, maybe a tab bit better than the last batch, but still unacceptable to consume. Turns out these are NOT fresh, but pre-made from the waiters response. That's what they tasted like... left overs that where put in a microwave to serve, in my opinion. Checking out: since they did attempt to "re-make them we asked for a discount on the empanadas only! bc we still wanted to pay partial for the left-over empanadas that we DID NOT eat, I mean come on! We're not A-holes. The waiter / owner son said sorry you re-ordered them so we have to pay. Did not try to make things right at all! Nor try to give us a resolution. All he expressed was "sorry but you have to pay in full. We lost 2 orders of empanadas." In my mind I was like then make them the right way the first time! If they treated us like this, and we where returning customers for YEARS on a weekly basis, you can forget about our patronage and look for somewhere else in Lake Elsinore to give our local support to. I still payed the full bill. But, a lesson learned to NOT return back. So local and visiting Foodies BEWARE!!! The owners reply wasn't to come up with a solution or a resolution to fix the issue at hand, which was a bad batch of empanadas. We had ordered these all the time, but something was not right about these. It was many times of coming here that led up to this review, it wasn't just because of what happened this last incident. If you care about "Customer Satisfaction" then why not reply with a solution or resolution? Instead you come here to save face and report of false reviews. We where willing to work along with a resolution on our end, it's not like we said we did not want to pay. The reason we came here was because it's a small business in the community. If no resolution can be had here, then I guess my experience as a review will remain. read more

Ceviche nice tart lime citrus, shrimp were reasonable size (were probably blanched before hand though for you purests out there) Fish tacos - grilled! Love some grilled fish tacos. The Green Salsa is good. Came here on a Friday around noon for some lunch. We're not local so I googled seafood since my uncle wanted to have a beer. Googles reviews were decent but Yelps are more spot on regarding the service. Let me tell you the ambience is dead in this place, no music playing in the background, you have to pay for it. The place still has carpet flooring. The painted landscape on the walls is okay, I guess. The service was questionable. Couldn't tell if she was new to field and doesn't have the etiquette, or if she was just unwilling. The facts. They didn't have the "super Michelada" because they don't have shrimp to put on the borders. I would've still taken it because I wanted my beer floating on top of the drink. But that was not an option. Let me tell you they had a long list of drinks they didn't offer, "sold out"...side note it's Father's Day weekend, what a wasted opportunity. When it came to ordering food, no suggestions or recommendations. My cousins and I played it safe and ordered tacos and fries. My uncle wanted the fish soup. My uncle was asking what kind of fish was served and the lady says, I don't know but it's not a filet it's the one with bone in it, not filet. She could've just gone to ask the kitchen to confirm. My uncle was disappointed by the soup, turns out they used filet and whatever was left of the thick fish that is normally used. She offered to replace it after it had been served. He kindly declined because it would've taken longer to get a different plate and he's was hungry. Next time just ask the kitchen to be sure. The tacos were good and the fries too. They served this green salsa on the side which was honestly delicious. It saved the soup accosting to my uncle. That's the reason they get the three stars. Amazing things will happen with good salsa. This place did not disappoint. Like always, service was super friendly and the food was great!! Had the bistek ranchero plate and it was served hot freshly prepared. Sauce was on the spicy side so if that's not your thing you may want to tell them. Typical sides which were rice and beans. A little bit of chopped lettuce and a fresh tomato slice. All the fresh veggies tasted freshly sliced. No funky taste at all. Super crunchy and yummy. The meat was sliced perfectly and was nice and tender. It was stewed in a fresh red salsa full of flavor and again, HEAT. Served with a chile toreado. Look it up if you don't know what that is. I asked for flour tortillas but they brought me corn. Which did not bum me out at all because they were the fresh fluffy kind that are prepared in house. Over all I absolutely recommend this restaurant. Whenever she brings my michelada she brings it without putting the beer In it.... wonder why the table full of men next to me got there drinks with the beer already inside. Horrible service. I'm Mexican and they treated all my white friends like they were some sort of aliens just because they couldn't speak Spanish... I got treated like crap even though I spoke in Spanish to them lol Sunday night crew is definitely not it. This is probably my favorite seafood restaurant this side of the Mexican border. Their shrimp ceviche is sooo good and the perfect heat if your like me and cant handle too much spice. They do serve it with a spicy green sauce that is perfect for those who like their seafood spicy. They also have 4 different hot sauces on the tables so that you can get to whatever spicy level you like. They recently added more items to their menu when we last went and my boyfriend tried their birria with handmade tortillas, and omg was it good. Top that off with a michelada and your set. They will even customize stuff for you if you just let them know what you want. For example I always ask for a Mango michelada, thats where they add mango puree to your michie and add some mango syrup to the rim and then add the tajin...my mouth is watering just thinking about it. The owner Miguel is a really cool guy and the waitresses check in on you often to see how your doing. The building owner recently put in a new AC unit too so it's nice and cool for hot days. My recommendation is try the shrimp ceviche but bring a friend cause 1 tostada is enough to feed two people, trust me you wont be disappointed. read more
