This has been my family's favorite spot to go to when we are in the mood for authentic Mexican food, and I'm just too tired to cook. My youngest always gets the taquitos which are always nice and full, the meat isn't dry, and the portion is great. The rest of the family loves getting the crunchy beef/chicken tacos. We always get extra cause someone always has room for one more. Their salsas are great, but my middle child loves their pickled carrots and onions. The nachos with beans and cheese and the crunch, is perfect when you want to share something. When we stay and eat inside, the atmosphere is welcoming and the service is great. Sorry to say I was just there. I ordered my burrito in a few tacos and I have to say the few times I've been there. The burrito was terrible. I ordered the green chili Verde burrito. I don't know if they deliberately accidentally made my burrito with no sauce whatsoever, it was just chunks of meat with rice. It was not edible. I spent over $100 and I drew it in the trash. I came here for years for the Monday special on flautas, but this is the first time visiting for breakfast. The quaint little restaurant has been a modest staple and always well kept. Parking is easy, seating inside is available, and ordering at the counter is always a pleasant experience. The women working the counter this morning weren't just nice, they were engaging and had a great humor to them. The Salsa bar doesn't have many options, but the ones they have are tasty. This morning I went back to the basics and got the Bacon breakfast burrito and added potato (surprised that potato isn't included). The burrito is a decent size and they give it a nice toast on the griddle after it's wrapped. They use a more layered approach to the filling. A large loosely scrambled egg that comes out like a folded omelet is the base. The potato they use is nicely seasoned, the same they use for potato tacos, it's a large smash, and with the layers it works and doesn't overwhelm like many hash-brown application tend to do. The bacon is pleasantly crisp on the edges with a nice chew, cheese was plentiful and, where it mingled with the egg and potato, melted nicely. There was some outlier cheese that didn't have a neighboring heat source and didn't melt, but maybe I needed to let it sit a minute more. Overall the location and service is easily 5 stars. The Burrito was good, not great, but easily one of the best values, if I hadn't added potato it was a $10 burrito and With potato still under $12. That is hard to find. Personally the layers and omelet-like egg aren't my top preference and I do wish they had a green salsa available. Overall, the breakfast burrito experience with the Bacon breakfast burrito with added potato gets 4.2 stars. read more

I wish I can give them a zero star. They don't deserve this one star at all. I regret doing business with them multiple times after my last review here. Tonight my husband order two beef enchiladas combo meals but we got cheese enchiladas. I absolutely hate cheese enchiladas. Since my son was hungry and was already eating the cheese enchiladas so I let that one go. I brought back the other cheese enchiladas meal to the restaurant hoping they would remake my meal for me, the beef enchiladas that my husband said he ordered. When I got there the young lady who said she was the one who took my husband order argued with me saying that my husband ordered cheese enchiladas. Anyway, I had my food in my hand and she took the food and looked at it said she could only give me one beef enchilada because she said I ate half my enchiladas already. She must be blind or having trouble judging things. I only took one bite and realized it was cheese and I immediately stopped eating. This place would rather lose a customer than have the business etiquette to do the right thing. We spent a lot of money here tonight and you can't even fix a small thing. This is no Mi Pueblo. It's Mi Argue. It's Mi No Customer Skills. Their food isn't that great either. It's Mi Muchoblando! Tonight was the last straw. You win at losing a customer forever. read more

Where the locals eat, that's what an election coworker who lives in Menifee told me as we sat around bored and talking about food. I scouted the location afterward to ensure that I got the most out of the lunch hour. Inside, it's more spread wide than deep, and I placed my order then grabbed a seat. I wondered about the two condiment cups the lady doled out until I read other reviews. It's still unclear what expense they're concerned about: the cost of the cups or condiments, including salsas? I ordered a couple different things to make the best assessment of what is likely my only visit. Two tacos, one each carnitas and carne asada, and the taquitos plate. It took a little while to come up, and I noticed they do a steady take-out business. Once it all came out I retrieved it and was surprised to see the tacos on a basic paper plate. The taquitos tasted a lot better than they looked, so B- for looks. The tacos were decent, I appreciated the carnitas weren't dry, which is a common problem. Overall, good. Seriously! This place is THE best! Great customer service, always seeing the ladies wiping the tables down frequently and working hard to keep the place clean. I came here for the first time when I was in high school (back in 2000/2001) and haven't been back since, just because. But I remembered that it was good then so I wanted to stop by to try it again and it's even better than I remembered. My hubby and I come here all the time now. I've been super stuck on their beef hard shell tacos and I am excited to venture out to all the other yummy food they have here. Way too many rules! Two sauces per burrito only. If you go out to Mexican food and ask for more salsa you're not charged. Staff are very rude and the food is just average. They literally charge you for every additional thing. Los Jilbertos burritos are way bigger, come with chips, unlimited salsa. This place says no chips unless you ask! I grew up in Menifee and used to regularly get "Pueblo Viejo" located near the Ralph's (the original location, which closed during Covid). Whenever I visit my parents in the area, I make sure to come to this place. 3-Rolled Tacos - my main order here. The shredded beef is superior to the other meats for this one. Savory and crunchy, great texture. Guacamole and melted cheese absolutely completes this simple dish. Definitely recommend. Taco Tuesday's Tacos - the standard crunchy shredded beef taco. There is a TON of oil in these, and hit the spot when you're looking for that quick and decent bite. Love these, beware of your cardiovascular health if you consume these on the regular though. Soft Tacos Al Pastor (Large) - I have been waiting for a long time for places in the area to serve Al Pastor. The flavor is pretty solid given the area. Pretty juicy and garnished with cilantro. Will definitely order again. Carnitas Combo with Rice and Beans - The carnitas are delicious, and pair perfectly with the corn tortillas included. Make sure to either buy tortilla chips separately or order them here, as it only comes with a single chip. There is a salsa bar with many different spice levels and flavors, just ask for salsa cups at the register after you make your order. I'm a little disappointed I can't bring my own small salsa containers, because I absolutely hate how much garbage I create from getting the small plastic salsa containers every time. First of all, the Spanish lady who took my order was kind of rude. She didn't give me the soda I ordered or my salsa cup. Secondly there was a mystery $3.10 charge on my bill that came out of nowhere. Third the food wasn't that good and the menudo I ordered was cold and slimy. It is by far the worst Mexican food around.
