Deep fried on a clean plancha. And the chili oil they give you for dipping is fantastic! 2. California burrito. I know you can get these anywhere, but they beat Miguel Jr, Alberto's, everybody. 3. Jamaica. Again, I know you can get these just about anywhere, but what stands out is that they add GUAVA to the mix and it gives it a rich flavor, you won't want the hibiscus without it after this. I ordered a custom taco lol I wanted the fish and shrimp tacos, but with more of a street taco filling. I asked them to do that and they messed up the first time. They put sour cream and forgot the pico. That's okay. I know I was ordering something custom. I ordered all three tacos with pico, cilantro and guacamole. Sans the sour cream. I ordered the 3 taco special and a cucumber lime agua fresca. For my tacos I ordered lengua, birria, and brisket. Although they weren't horrible, my tacos lacked flavor. I was hoping to add some flavor with a mild salsa and some lime, but all of the salsas were a little too spicy for my liking, and they only had lemon slices and no lime. I don't think I've been to a taco shop that doesn't offer lime. One of my tacos had so much fat that I had to pick through it and remove the fatty pieces before I could eat it. Found this on Yelp. Hubby was craving tacos and came across this place. First thing we noticed was the birria pizza. My daughter wanted birria and hubby and decided to try the birria pizza. We got the one with consommé too. They give you 3 big cups of consommé. It was huge and filling! Watching the cooks make it was awesome too. lol I would have messed it up big time. It's taken me too long to try this place and it's one of my favs now for just about anything Mexican food. My go-to is the breakfast burrito which is a good size and filling. I've had their loaded fries which I usually get with scrambled eggs. Look how juicy and loaded they are. They were just as satisfying. It's not the largest place but there's a good amount of seating. He also said the meat was shredded and he likes chunks of meat in his burrito. He gave it 3 out of 5 stars. I ordered a torta de Milanesa. This thing was huge, it could be shared. The flavor was good and it had what a regular torta has, beans, meat, guacamole, sour cream, lettuce, and tomatoes. The only thing I would suggest is adding is some cheese. I went here a few times for the $9 three tacos and a drink and thought it was great. The last I was there, we ordered take out and our brisket tacos had more fat than meat, literally. I ate one taco and thought it tasted bad. My gf didn't eat any of hers. Upon closer inspection, I found a huge piece of fat in my taco and then realized it was mostly fat. Maybe I'm dumb and the tacos are supposed to be 50% fat but I've ordered from another Mexican place twice a week for the last couple of years and I've never once seen a chunk of fat in their shredded beef. Edit: I originally gave 1 star but if we dined in instead of getting take out, I would've sorted this out with them and this review wouldn't exist, probably. Carne Assad Fries were so so good. The Asada is full of flavor. Really tender Good piece of meat. They put some sauces on top of the fries that add an extra bit of wonderfulness. The fries are crinkle but fries not those skinny fries that get all soggy. I think it was around $20 dollars but well worth it. I came super hungry and couldn't finish the fries in one sitting. Came very close but nice to have a little snack for later. I'd say one of the top ifnot the best fries I've had. Food: I should preface that I am a pescatarian, so I am always on the lookout for fish and shrimp tacos. I had one fish and one shrimp taco. The tacos were super plentiful and packed with protein! Two tacos were more than enough for me. Both the shrimp and fish were in a batter and fried, then topped with shredded cabbage, tomatoes, cilantro, and a sauce. The reason I gave this review a 4 was because of the batter. There was a flavor - black pepper and other seasonings that I personally didn't care for. It wasn't offensive, just strong enough that I noticed it. On a positive note, I love restaurants with salsa bars and really liked their Salsa Verde.
