    Lobster!!
    Michael N.

If you want to go to TJ, Mexico, and enjoy some delicious lobster, vaminos--this is the place to be. Very good margaritas, rice & beans--the works. The restaurant is very clean. The service is excellent. Parking can be challenging. My only critique is the flour tortillas; they were a little stiff and not stretchy like I'm used to. Besides that, hit this place up. I've been here twice!

Ceviche de Camaron and Lonja Zarandeado with rice and salad

Very lively restaurant with great ambiance, service, and food. Shrimp ceviche was very fresh and acidic, loved the avocado on top! Lonja zarandeado was very delicious and crispy - must order with extra garlic on top for the perfect bite. Horchata is light and refreshing.

Servers were very nice and ambiance was decent. I thought that the food was good but it was so salty! Still yummy but just too much salt. The one big drawback besides that was it was overpriced! Lots of other seafood spots in Tijuana with great food and better prices. No hate, just honest opinion. Still much love to the establishment. Great energy here.

Shrimp and octopus. Nice big chunks of both

Some of the best octopus and shrimp mariscos in TJ. They don't over marinate the shrimp and the octopus is soft and tender. Great prices for both mariscos and drinks. And huge portions. Usually one plate is enough for one person. Our party of three got 3 mariscos plates, drinks, and our bill only came out to 35 dollars. The only issue is sometimes the mariachis or banda is super loud. Like I can't talk to the person next to me loud. Highly recommend the mariscos here. Just seat yourself away from the mariachis.

One of the most overwhelmingly enjoyable restaurants I have ever been to. They have huts inside so you get the complete Mexico Vibe. As soon as you sit down and open the menu, you are bombarded with maximum eye candy and you will feel like you need to order everything. And that's exactly what I did. I got some lobster, some giant shrimps, more shrimp, and breaded jumbo shrimp. Oh what a treat it was. Felt like seafood heaven and it's going to be difficult to ever match this experience elsewhere. Usually when you go to a shrimp/seafood restaurant you end up with a very generic experience - like the whole fish and chips thing. Not this place. You get the whole seafood experience here. Check the photos.

Fish tacos with rice and beans

When your over the border stop here to eat... Had this today for lunch.... Had fish tacos and beer. Staff is very welcoming and today they had live music. Have been here before and stopped here again. The fish tacos were good, with sauce not to over powering. Beans and rice came with and we're just ok. Last time I came here... I had the huachinango and it was delicious. They have a whole bunch of seafood you can choose from.

Food is really good but the loud live music personally is very annoying. Would love for there to be designated times where they don't play

I was full after 2 but couldn't bare to waste the 3rd one so I stuffed myself. We will definitely be back. Also there was a guy walking around letting people try the fresh cheeses he made. They were delicious. We will now add this to our rotation everytime we are out here. So good. Also if you don't speak Spanish they do speak english so you don't have to worry. The place was biay and service was fast! Yum!!!.

The magnet to…read moreget here, was that I recently discovered they were the only restaurant that was advertising Puerto Nuevo lobster. So I got there on my first evening, and that's what I ordered. It took about 40 minutes to get to the table, but once it arrived, it was beautifully presented cooked optimally. The portion seemed a little smaller than I expected (came in only one 600 gm size). The lobster that was split in half sat on a moist bed of Spanish rice, came with refried beans and freshly grilled vegetables. See my pictures. The freshly made thin tortillas were superb, but one had to be careful or they would dry soon. After you finish, they give you an apperetiv, in a small cylindrical crystal glass. Basically, think of it like Kahlúa with milk, vanilla and ice. It was fantastic. The chips and salsas that preluded the main order were also superb. It is rarely and not always, that I go back to the same restaurant when I'm on a short trip. On top of that the next day? Yes, here it had to be the exception. So this second time, I was here to try the fish soup (exceptional) and the grilled loin of red snapper. I've heard of a pork loin, a beef loin, but this was a first. The entree is a large portion. A thick, succulent, colorful, well charred and grilled portion of seafood, with firm texture and spicy taste. Service here was high class, on both occasions. Two exceptional and hard to forget dining visits, in Tijuana. Wow.

The restaurant is a large space with both indoor and outdoor seating, and the atmosphere is really cute and inviting. The service was excellent. Our waiter was attentive and checked on us throughout the meal. He even had a portable charger available for my phone, which was very convenient. What we ordered: *Aguachile Reina: This was delicious and had a little kick to it. If you're sensitive to spice, this might not be the best choice, but for those who enjoy a little spice, it's a great option. *Rock Shrimp: Absolutely phenomenal. This was probably one of my favorites of the night. The flavors were amazing, and the shrimp was cooked perfectly. *Tuna Tartare: Another delicious dish. The portion size was generous, and they bring out chips to enjoy with it. We also enjoyed tequila on the rocks. They have a large liquor and cocktail menu. The Zona Rio location has a small dining area, that is very popular with both the locals and visitors. It is easy to see why. Their menu does not over dose on the standard morning and afternoon items that you would find anyplace. However, this is the first restaurant I've been to in Tijuana, that does not have an English menu.... so I had to labor through the Spanish menu. But, they do have unique dishes, thus making the visit adventurous, because it is difficult to choose. I went back and forth, and finally settled for their 3-egg omelet with asparagus and sheep cheese. It came with refried beans, strings of carrots and beets, small fired up tostadas and fresh tortillas (both blue and yellow corn). A small side of soggy chilaquiles was also served. A small flavorful salsa tray is also provided with 3 options, ranging from mild to hot. The asparagus spears were thin, cut up into small pieces and sautéed with mild spices. The outer egg covering soft and not overdone. If anything, there was too much sheep cheese, in certain portions of the omelet. I say this because it was an asparagus omelet, and it, instead of the cheese, should have been the star. Still, it did not take away from the other commendable aspects of the complete entree and its accompaniments. Before the meal, a small refreshing fruit plate is served.
