You're in another country and you wish to eat where the locals eat. There's a way around that. You ask the local people and this is what brought me to, Mariscos El Toro Guero, for lunch. Immediately, you are in the indigenous space, injected with culture, music, ambiance, the staff, even the air takes you to where you really should be. From the get go, the service was spectacular. The salsas arrived immediately after I was seated. Yes, one of them was the habanero. Tostadas instead of chips, were in a sealed plastic commercial bag. They were crisp, flavorful and tasty. I wanted to try three different tacos, seafood of course, so I took a mix of fried fish, a grilled fish and then a shrimp. It came with rice and I asked for beans which interestingly, came in a glass bowl that you would use for a mini ice cream sundae. Fresh, flavorful, soupy, just the way I like it. The rice was kind of sweet. Everything from start to finish was perfect. What a wonderful and unforgettable, lunch experience.
