    Mexicana Fajitas!

We stopped in on a Sunday afternoon for something new. We were greeted at the entrance and promptly seated. The server brought out chips and a small dish of a pico with a hint of lime along w a hot sauce to go with it. This was very fresh and had fish in it. They also brought out salsa that was fresh and mild. We had the mexicana fajitas. Simply Amazing ! The shrimp was seasoned with lime and garlic, the veggies and chicken were colored but not over cooked so it had great flavor. The steak was very tender and tasty. The lime margarita was very smooth and refreshing! This was our first time at Mariscos Playa Azul but won't be the last! Ask for Gabriela, she's awesome! She helped with the menu and was very observant.

Shrimp Cocktail... o sea cóctel de camarón

On my journey of finding a good "cóctel de camarón" in the area I'm sorry to inform you all that once again I've failed. This is a nice place with nice costumer service. The ceviche tostadas are great and well served. Shrimp cocktail was good but the shrimp was a little over cooked. I'm rating this place four stars out of five because it is really good but the shrimp cocktail did not meet my tasting expectations. Come and check it out for yourself. Food portions are good enough and will fulfill an empty belly.

Very expensive and they charge the tip they want, the food doesn't even taste good, apart from the service was not good.

There were 8 people in our group and they ended up seating us outside which wasn't a problem as it was warm and sunny. Once seated our server took our drink order quickly and followed up shortly with taking an order for appetizers. Which also came out fairly quickly. Our server then took our entree orders. He returned three or four times to replenish/refill drinks for the females in our group but ignored me and the other male in our group, until we asked for a refill. Our entree's took about 20 - 25 minutes to come out and there were several minutes between the first and last to make it to the table. In the business district of the town where most of their lunchtime weekday customers are workers on lunch break they need to be getting the food out the kitchen quicker. As for the food presentation was nice. Everyone's dishes looked really fresh and appetizing. Two of our team had the shrimp taco's and they was so much moisture in them they ended up eating them with a knife and fork. Another two on our team had the Quesabirria. They said it tasted good but had more cheese than Burria. As for my own dish, I had the poblanos with steak, which is three enchiladas covered in a poblano sauce with a side of rice. The portion was a reasonable size but the steak was chewy and while it wasn't bad the poblano sauce just didn't impress me. It was just plain in flavor, with not much poblano flavor. Like I mentioned earlier we were seated outside. I was about two thirds the way through my meal and found a small black hair in the sauce. Where we were sat was pretty breezy so I cannot say if the hair came with my meal or if it was blown onto my food, but it was not the best end to what I would call a lackluster meal.

I ordered the chile relleno and my friend ordered a tamale and some chicken taquitos. My friend endorses the taquitos and reported that they were flavorful and crunchy. Salsa and chips are complimentary and the salsa was pretty decent. The tamale was okay, but not the best she or I have ever had. As far as the chile relleno goes, the salsa was flavorful, but the batter was pretty soggy all around. The rice was flavorful and had a great texture to it, though the frijoles refritos tasted like they were possibly from a can or mass-produced. The beans felt and looked like soup. I also noticed that the shredded cheese placed on top of both the chile y tamale was not melted. When reheated, the cheese held its position. Several birthday parties were being celebrated in the restaurant while we were there, and the staff and owner made sure that the birthday party crowds were celebrated by clapping and singing which was sweet and made the whole place feel festive! I intend to go back and try some other dishes to determine if some authenticity shines through other dishes/plates.

After a quick elevator ride up to the second floor of the building, the entrance to Taco is very quaint and welcoming. They have a very nice patio area with about 5 tables that overlooks the Main Street that runs through downtown Springdale. We were seated inside, and served very quickly. The queso dip was absolutely amazing, and the margarita flight was an absolute banger. The reason I'm giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is due to the aisle size and not being the most kid friendly. The aisles are quite thin and we got bumped a few times by passing patrons.
