Worst food ever!!! We asked about the tacos papas and were not told it was smothered in crème!! When i brought this to their attention they said they would fix it, they simply wiped off what they could and I could still see it on the sides of the taco, I was absolutely repulsed!!! I am forced to change my review to a more sad review. Only to be more transparent about service and prices. For some odd reason pricess change so basically whats on the menu its actually a bit more. Example this Sunday i ordered menudo and when i requested with hominy she charged $2 extra plus 50cents for the card transaction. Also I wanted a small bowl, she forced me into purchasing the big bowl $15.00 later. When i asked for homemade tortillas she gave me a irritated look. Ok! I know sometimes we are not morning person but at least try to be more pleasant. Now this is not the first sour encounter I've had with this brunette. When I got my menudo she failed to bring the Oregon and red dry peppers. Does anyone know how important those two ingredients are? How important they are to garnish your menudo? Long day short we came in later because Branley next door was having happy hour. I told my friends about the great food next door. My male friend came back confused with no order. Huh?? Apparently the server Iris was lounging with customers holding a wonderful conversation and she couldn't be bothered. When I came in to see what he was talking about and mind you his gf came with me. All Iris can tell me "well i can't be everywhere" when i never asked her a thing. With her behavior one would think she felt guilty of her poor customer behavior? Ok I told her "well are you ready then?" I want to say that the curly long hair woman is absolutely a beautiful girl but understands what customer service is all about. i have never had an attitude problem like with Iris! With Iris everything is a struggle. She gets really stressed out over nothing. She loves to charge for extra's but fails to give you the basic condiments or spices. That part I can not tell if she was just born(dumb) that way or she is just a sour puss. I mean she looks constipated every single time i encounter her. I am talking about months. I am sorry to say but Iris is embarrassing especially for someone that works with the public. The others are polite but get your prices transparent or clear to the customer. She flat out makes you feel you are a royal pain. She also flat out "MAKES UP THE PRICES. Just food for thought most dishes are delicious but do not bother with the fish or carnitas. those two dishes are not recommended just stay with the carne asada or chicken soup the menudo has a nice flavor but the meat is on the slime side. i prefer my menudo meat crunchy. I could drop the racist card on Iris but for today I am not going there. I am considered a white Mexican that apparently I do not look like I came down a Mexican pyramid. That I am not sorry about!! I had a shrimp fajitas. It was super delicious! My husband had the shrimp with the garlic sauce. It was also very good. The young lady that took care of us was very sweet. Great customer service! The portions were very good. She was telling me they do Karaoke on Thursdays and during the weekend. The place is very clean. Spanish atmosphere. I will definitely be back. I ordered the chicken mole plate and my friend had the shrimps Diablo, those were so good. This is a small time Mariscos place, but if you go to Blarney Stone bar next door, when you order food from the Mariscos restaurant, the server lady will bring your food order to your bar, with utensils and napkins too. That is another good benefit because the bar doesn't have any food, but it allows outdoor food. They have beer buckets for reasonable price. I also included the updated menu pictures and prices and the prices went up because of inflation. The food is still good. Check it out! read more

This place was not good at all. Came in tonight for a late lunch. Ordered Pescao a la daiabla, taquitos de pollo, and a mole chicken plate The mole was ok this is why it got one star, the taquitos the chicken had no flavor just boiled chicken wrapped and fried. The fish plate was more onions that the small.measly piece of fish and the diabla sauce was basically tomatoe sauce with no heat. The rice was not anywhere near any Mexican rice we have had, when we complained the waitress just said ok I'll let the chef know for next time. Definitely will be no next time $50 down the tubes. Came in for a late lunch 4/24/2021 about 3pm. Was pretty empty, server said was busy for lunch as I asked how things were today. Clean place, plenty of seating, not an upscale looking place from outside or inside but it certainly feels like a family owned and operated type of place that I like to support. Server, (nice and friendly) told me to grab any table and she brought a menu and I asked for a glass of water and can of diet coke, chips and a nice mild red salsa were included so nice to have. Ordered the 2 taco combo that came with beans and a white rice, all was good and I had a side or tortillas also. Green salsa was served with meal on side, had a little tang to it, was good. $14.95 check plus $5 tip, was well worth it. Pro's Very nice service. Place was clean. Visiting from NorCal I discovered this place on YELP last year. My husband and I were craving Ceviche. This is my second and his third visit. My husband really likes the Ceviche here. It's fresh and inexpensive with a generous portion. I hadn't tried this dish in the past, but decided to order it today. It was pretty good, but I am particular about my ceviche. I like mine with more lemon(so I added it). More salt( I added it) and my avocado diced up and mixed in. The avocado comes sliced up and laid on top. I felt it lacked flavor. I'm not big on spicy food, but it lacked some sort of spice. Maybe a little diced up jalapeño. We will be back because my husband really likes it. read more

I finally found a "hole in the wall" with real Mexican restaurant that the food is tasty! I had passed by it for several years until my son and I stopped by for breakfast today. I ordered chicken and cheese enchiladas, Wow very tasty, I was hesitant a first but the presentation was nice, the green salsa did not give you the after taste. I also ordered a side of beans, you're able to taste "homemade beans". My son ordered red Pozole, he was also very pleased. This will be my/our new go to spot for ceviche and other plates. Found it on yelp, looking for something close to home (costa Mesa) to replace our old spot that just went to far downhill in quality. I got the ceviche pescado tostada and caldo de res (red), my husband got the shrimp a la diabla and wings for our app, my 9yr old got the ceviche cameron tostada and a side of rice. We all LOVED everything and were pleased to have leftovers. My 14yr old got the leftovers and enjoyed it equally as well, even if it wasn't as fresh. This might not be the place to go if you like Mexican food that has a "white washed" ambiance and menu and flavor. This is where you go if you want authentic. Drink menu was great for a family. GREAT in every way! Most importantly, the food is outstanding! My mouth watered with every bite. Yum! I got 3 chicken and cheese enchiladas, with the beans and rice combo for just $8. To top off the delicious food, and great prices, the service is fantastic! The ladies at the front and the cook came out to say hello to me and make sure that my to-go order was everything I wanted. The food never disappoints. The enchiladas are delicious and the molè sauce is raging with flavor. The staff are always friendly here. They deliver to the bar next door with is always a plus. Yup, I'm a fan. @ this point in my life I am able to differentiate food from one State in Mexico and another. In this establishment the style is Mexican but with an emphasis on the State of Guerrero. Now get rid of all that. Walk in, sit down or walk up to the counter, order, eat. No pressure, no high prices, roll in like you just got done digging in the yard, etc. And holy smokes is it good. Ehh...$6 bucks for my burrito? Listen, don't take your date out somewhere expensive, go here. Consider it a study of differentiation between the foods of different States in Mexico. Hidden gem that me and my bf found in Fountain Valley. The restaurant itself is large enough to to fit big parties. The restaurant is clean and well maintained. The booths are large. No outdoor seating area though. Bummer! Our waitress was really kind and took our order down and didn't ruin it. Our meals came right out of the kitchen, nice and fresh. She continuously asked us if we were doing okay and if we needed anything else. She was prompt on the refills and had a great personality. I'm giving this restaurant a low rating because of the atmosphere that we experienced. Our meals; zero complaints. The food was delicious! While we were eating, a regular customer walked-in (older gentleman), and asked our waitress to call out a female employee from the kitchen. The woman came out to greet him, grabbed a beer and sat with this man. It was very unprofessional and their conversation was extremely perverted. They were too loud and annoying! Although the the servers were really nice and the food was okay, there are a few downsides to the place. The seating is limited and the prices are a little high on some combos. However, the biggest tip I offer is don't go on a warm day. I don't think there is a working AC or the AC they do have doesn't work too well. I was sweating up a storm when I was dining here and when I stood up, my pants were stuck to me. I couldn't enjoy my food because I was so hot. Hopefully they get that fixed soon. read more
