I got the 7 Mares Caldos: very good. Wait staff is attentive and helpful. Food is quite good and flavorful, but be careful of any fish: it has tiny, tiny, bones. My only complaint was choosing a Karaoke night. If you value your eardrums or want to engage in conversation, avoid Karaoke here: my eardrums still hurt. My husband and I were in the area , he's very picky about food and ridiculous high prices. We were searching for food in the area and wanted to try a new place, we saw 4 stars so we said why not. Upon arriving we were greeted seated and given chips/beans/ and salsa. All the waiters help each other out so we had 3 different waiters bringing our food items and checking in on us. The wait time was was about 15 min for the food to come out and when it came out it tasted so fresh and authentic and delicious in flavor . There fresh juices made freshly daily were very good . I will be coming back hands down because of there express service/ delicious food/ oh and I forgot to write , great prices !!! read more

This place was pretty subpar. I had the Sunday Buffett . When I arrived there around 12:30 pm the food was pretty cold. I almost didn't want to pay full price. All the food is pretty expensive because they have a live Mariachi show with Karaoke. The owner was pretty nice . I just think they need to step it up with the quality and taste of the food. Probably won't ever come back here. It's really loud. You can't even speak to the person across from you without having to yell. read more

Such a sad moment when you realized you didn't get what you paid for . I usually go to the super Antojitos on Bristol and 17 which has exceptional food and service ! I came to this one because it is closer to my house , and my husband and I felt we could use a campechana for lunch . We did take it to go , and when we got home we opened the cups , mostly watered down juice no avocado and only like 7 shrimps. We also asked for extra octopus which we didn't get . Not to mention the octopus that did get had freezer burn on it . Poor quality , you would think with all this Covid pandemic they will try to serve the best food possible to keep customers coming back but instead they lost one . read more

Literally the saddest plate of so called Mexican food I have ever had in the o.c I got the enchilada plate with the Chile relleno the chillen was still hard and the cheese was still pretty solid. If I could give an affordable mexican restaurant six stars, I would. This largely unknown restaurant has food that melts in your mouth. The peppers for some dishes, such as my favorite, the Fajitas, makes their sauces incredibly delicious to partake in. Great margaritas as well. If your looking for an affordable, hidden secret kinda place, you must try it. I highly recommend the beef and shrimp fajitas. The service by Tony and Jose is very friendly, and they are on top of it, service wise! They also have karaoke, although we havent tried doing that yet. The food is really good, the service is great, and it is pretty clean! I recommend is, especially on karaoke nights.

I am easily distracted by shiny objects and flapping things in the air (picture the movie UP, and the dogs saying, "SQUIRREL!" Anywho...we were driving by this restaurant, when I saw a group of Mariachi dudes, playing their instruments outside this restaurant (SQUIRREL!!). We were already on our way to eat at a different Mexican place and decide to give this place a shot, cuz of the effort to draw in people. Once you enter, the restaurant is a big open room. We were greeted immediately and asked to choose our own seat. We found a place right in the middle and set up shop. This was Sunday and they have brunch...which sounded good. I decided to lift lids to see what they had. They had chicken fajitas and other items, that did not look very appealing to me, so I opted for the Huevos con Chorizo (my standard Mexican breakfast meal). The free chips and salsa came out and the glistening with oil, that you immediately feel on the roof of your mouth. The chips were warm, but greasy and the salsa was runny with an odd taste of vinegar. Yuck. My meal came out and I had to try the beans ASAP. I feel like if the beans are not good, then the meal is crap. These beans were...meh. Nothing special at all. The rice was bland and the chorizo was a little overcooked, but not super bad. I ate it and my kid liked it too. My husband got some dish I didn't recognize and thought it was just ok. He said he wouldn't get it again. They didn't ask us what kind of tortillas we wanted and they brought out corn for both of us. WRONG! I prefer flour. So I had to wait to get those and when they came, they had the feel of being nuked in the microwave. Overall the food was no bueno. The service however was EXCELENTE!! That's where the stars come in. The servers were very friendly and stopped by our table often. The Mariachi players were great and there were even customers and staff that came up to sing, Karaoke style. And, they were actually good (or so my husband says). Would I come back??? Maybe. Only to try their $1 tacos and $2 Coronas or Margaritas on Tuesdays. I'm intrigued and there's not much of that family style party scene in our area. Anything else on the menu is off limits now. I'll stick to El Picante or Tacos Sinaloa in the future. read more

Was trying to get some breakfast and decided to try this place. I ordered the Chilaquiles Rojos with beans and rice. I had a Jamaica as well that came in a nice size glass. The sauce was not mild but not spicy enough for my liking. I didn't ask for crema (sour cream) and just assumed it would come it with, but that was ok. I was the only one there at 930 am. So first thing's first, this is a spin-off of Super Antojitos. Super Antojitos is wildly popular, for some reason unbeknownst to me. Maybe it's the community of employees, many of whom have worked there for a long time and have, as a result, developed rapport with clients. But at any rate, my point is that although Super Antojitos is a popular go-to destination for Mexican food, the food there has always left much, much to be desired. Their salsas suck (in my mind, you can judge how good a Mexican joint is going to be just by the chips and salsa alone - if the salsa sucks, chances are good that the food sucks too). Back to Super Antonios. I was hopeful that this Super Antojitos spin-off would make some much needed changes to the old menu. I was especially hopeful that they'd put some effort into the salsas. Nope. All the food, salsas included, are pretty much identical to Super A's. What a shame. You had an opportunity to actually deliver quality Mexican food and instead you reverted to the same, tired old menu. Oh well. I paid $15 for a shrimp plate (camarones a la diabla). The shrimp was very "fishy" and the sauce they marinated it in was sour. If you want good, authentic Mexican food, this is not the place. If you're looking for a quick fix and don't mind paying full pop, this place will do. read more

this place is definitely a hole in the wall, but not one of those "the food makes up for it" places. It smells, the tables aren't cleaned, and the food is not good. I got the red chilaquiles and the chips tastes stale, I. felt like throwing up afterwards, I left more than half of my food on the plate untouched. would definitely NOT recommend. read more

This place is not what the reviews say! First off the server who made initial contact was nice and welcoming. We start to look at the menu and before we even start looking at the food a girl starts asking how the checks are going to be spilt. Our party was ok with having one big check but the girl made a big deal about splitting the checks. The food is not all that great, pretty salty actually. I had ordered a carnitas burrito and the server came back and let's me know they had ran out of carnitas. It was only 8pm when we stopped in to eat. They are open till 2am how do you run out of meat. But not a big deal I chose a different meat. I ordered green salsa but it was brought out with red again not a big deal I ate it. They made a mistake on a tostada de ceviche, we had ordered it with out onions and they legit brought out a tostada with nothing but shrimps. We asked if we could change the order and the server just give us mean look and said we could but we would be charged . Not that it matters but we are from Vegas out here on vacation they knew we weren't locals and we could tell they knew that. Love the food, the service is great and it's a brand new location! They have Karaoke every night! I came here to celebrate my co workers birthday on the day of opening and the atmosphere was great! Now I am back for lunch. The prices are reasonable and they have a variety of items. Since I am on a strict diet I had the grilled blackened salmon with steamed vegetables and it was very fresh. The restaurant is just one big room, which makes it feel really odd. There are no booths and the service was horrible. I asked for a refill on my soda only to be sternly told that they charge for refills. The food was not anything close to Super Antojitos, which I had been told this place was comparable to. The food was bland and without flavor and came with what seemed to be, a bucket of grease. The server never really came around to ask if we needed anything else which was surprising considering the place was 99.9 percent empty, in fact when we arrived there were only two people there. The karaoke was the worst, very annoying, to listen to the owner and his twice dead aspirations of having wanting to be some sort of singer. Stick to combing that lettuce of yours instead, pahhhtna! Overall I just really got a disgusting feeling that one is being milked for every last freaking dime that one carries into the place, the server added her tip to our bill and that was just tacky. This location has been home to several restaurants and I got the feeling that the overcharging and the shakedown of every customer that even bothers to come in to this bloody dark rathole with neon lights, is because they're not making any money and are fighting off going out of business. The inevitable will happen, as this place is not a good place to eat and there are better choices here in Santa Ana. The shakedown was sickening and I would not go back. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. There are better, much better places out there. Do yourself a favor, eat somewhere else. I'd give this place a zero but I unfortunately don't have that option here. Do not go to Antonio's because it's not Super, that's simply false advertisement. read more
