Live Music Every Night and Drinks That Hit Just Right!!!…read more Are you into live, local music seven nights a week? Do you love stiff drinks served up by a quick, friendly staff? Ready to make some new friends? Then Herb's Hideout is a place you absolutely *must* check out. I've heard plenty of good things about Herb's over the years, but wow, they didn't even scratch the surface. You can swing by any night of the week and have just as much fun as the night before. Weekends bring larger shows and bigger crowds, but the vibe stays consistently welcoming and lively. Having recently moved to the LoDo area, I've been soaking in the eclectic, mixed energy of the neighborhood--it's the perfect balance of locals and just enough tourists to keep things interesting. And let me just say, Brenton behind the bar? That man's got it all: kindness, charm, and let's be honest, a little bit of heat. His gentlemanly attitude and attentive service take the experience up a notch. He is certainly the person you want slinging your drinks. For someone who misses the music-everywhere-all-the-time vibe of Austin, and an LA Native, Herb's Hideout feels like a slice of home. It's the kind of place where strangers become friends and the music makes every night feel special. Herb's provides that nostalgic energy without ever making you feel out of place. CHECK HIM OUT!

Lots of fun going on - great music, trivia, and of course great people watching. The two bartenders working seemed like fun dudes who were accustomed to the regulars as well as the "irregulars" such as myself. Great place. Give it a shot.

However, more recently, I've had some pretty negative experiences there. The sad part about this review, is it's really only one person. The majority of the staff are kind, professional, and welcoming. However, the one toxic person has authority. His wife is the gm. Barry, the head of security, has no business being in that role. He lacksppp the character, the demeanor, and judgment. He clearly has zero professional training or experience in crowd management. He treats people with absolute disrespect, for no reason other than to pad his ego. I've spoken to multiple other security staff who are absolutely embarrassed by him. I've spoken to police officers working there, they've agreed with me, but it's a private business, and as long as he doesn't break the law, there's nothing they can do. Here's the interesting part, I've never once been in trouble there, because I treat people with love and respect. Additionally, I am a ret police officer, who has actual professional certifications, training, and experience . However still, Barry has been disrespectful to me for no reason at all. The security staff have apologized to me when he wasn't looking. The man is clearly a narcissistic egomaniac. He creates fights where there wasn't one to begin with. He treats your loyal customers poorly. Even his own staff and local law-enforcement doesn't respect him. Please Rose, stop with the nepotism and actually hire a professional who knows what they're doing. Sadly, I have to rate the Rose low. Seems unfair since the majority of staff are great. However, this one employee is so bad that it makes me never want to return to my home town honky tonk.. He is that bad of a human being.

We chose this spot for our 4 year anniversary and were treated with excellence. When we arrived, a small bouquet of flowers awaited us at our table. We had floor seating and enjoyed the music and the food. There was a 3 course menu that we chose from: started with the strawberry salad and peach glazed pork belly paired with grapefruit fizz mocktails. We both chose the seared halibut as our entree, and dessert was the chocolate stout cake and coconut panna cotta. WOW. That coconut panna cotta was absolutely one of the best desserts I've had. It was light and wonderful, perfect way to end the meal. I would definitely come back here in the future, it can be hard to find intimate setting restaurants in Denver and even fewer with wonderful live music. This place hit the spot.

It was everything we wanted it to be and more. They checked our tix at the door along with IDs. It's a large space inside, they have coat check for $4. They have a lot of beer options, cocktails, and even mocktails and NA drinks. I got an NA cider that had a blueberry lime flavor and it was super delish. The DJ... the GFX on screen... the music. Everything was a 10/10. The DJ looked like he was having the time of his life and his energy was so infectious. One of the best DJs I've seen, I even said I hope I can get a DJ like this for my wedding one day because he was so so so fun. The crowd was having such a good time and so many people were dressed with the 2000s theme. The GFX on screen added to the night with hilarious 2000s throwbacks like Paint and WordArt. Plenty of space inside, there's an upstairs with tables and the bar and downstairs has more of a dance floor. Definitely recommend planning a night out here, you'll have so much fun!
