The pizza is good, but they are very slow. Their ordering app is nowhere near accurate. They tell you the pizza will be ready in 30 minutes, then they take :45 minutes. I've been caught standing around and waiting for the last 3 orders. Come on Mark and Monica's. Do better. I came here for dinner and got an XL combination pizza and it was absolutely delicious. The sauce they used tasted fresh and how it should on a pizza. The restaurant has a bar and a good sized dining area, it is loud in there but nice. Such a disappointment! I had heard good things about Mark&Monicas and have eaten here before. First, the chicken tenders - one was so thin it was chicken leather. The other 3 pieces were okay. The Lays Chips always great! We ordered a 3 topping Pizza Salami. Mushroom and Black Olives. Pizza arrived . Burnt around the crust. My pizza did not look like any of the photos you see in the comments. First, the crust was thin. The pizza tasted dry and flavorless Except for the saltiness. Barely any sauce or cheese. Heck! we didn't even have any stringy cheese pull as we took a piece off the tray. Salami was okay. Mushrooms paper thin and the olives muwh! I went get a shaker of cheese off another table and it was gross. It felt like dirty food covered hands had touched it . Yuck! My hand recoiled. Well, I thought, maybe a child with yuck on there hands had touched it, so I went to another table. Nope! All the shakers were disgusting and looked like they were never wiped off. As former restaurant manager, I was grossed out and lost my appetite thinking of all the dirty grubby pizza hands, the germs and whatever else was on the cheese jars. Usually it is customary to to wipe off between customers and have them emptied and washed nightly. I don't think it happens here. I was Done after 2 pieces of over cooked dry cardboard pizza like I would get you expect from the freezer section. Even trying ranch with it didn't help. What a waste of $40. Overall the food was OK Not sure why we tried the Pastrami sandwich and Burger in a pizza place. Pastrami was Ok but the burger was cold. We called to express our disappointment that our half vegan half real cheese pizza had made us sick because they failed to explain properly which half was which and Anthony basically said next time don't order it that way then. It was so fun coming here with a big group of friends to watch the NFL playoffs! I love the open concept seating. Even though there was a bunch of us, and we didn't sit at the same table, it still felt like we were all at the restaurant together. Located off Manzanita deep in Carmichael, Mark and Monica's pizza is a no-frills pizza joint. The folks working behind the counter were nice and inviting. After ordering two pizzas, jalapeño poppers and a salad from the salad bar the fam and I sat down in a booth near their bar. The layout isn't large here. But that's cool because it feels more intimate and like a family pizza joint. The cooks in the back were working their butts off because our food arrived about 15 minutes later despite the place more than half full! Went with the pepperoni pizza, all meat pizza and some jalapeño poppers. The pepperoni was on point! Spicy and each one had a perfect crunch to it. Sauce was good. The Italian sausage on the all meat paired with the salami was really great and I'd definitely order it again. The jalapeño poppers were pretty good too, the cream cheese was a nice filling as opposed to cheddar cheese. They had the football game on which makes this place a nice game day spot. Tv's were in every corner of the seating area. Between the beers on tap and great food I would love to watch a game here sometime again. I really love this pizza place and how they care about the toppings as well as the dough! We have pizza weekends every month with Mark & Monica's since we moved to our new home. Price is a bit higher than we used to but again they spare no expense when it comes to toppings! Service is always busy so be aware and you might want to order sooner than later either to eat in or to take out. So I have four starts because of their APP. For the first time I ordered from the app and my order has some issues which I never had before. 1) I wasn't able to use any of the coupons codes as stated on the website. 2) I had notes for veggie pizza and none of them were taken into account. A lot of local places don't have a flavorful sauce and this place does. I don't even like bbq pizza and I would order that again for myself. The prices are comparable to mountain mikes, but worth it.
